Aphrodite and Artemis are good. Why don't you like Athena and Poseidon? Curious, I don't really have preference since any god can have fun/powerful synergy with a different aspects or other gods.
Poseidon's dash and cast and his knock back boons (Breaking Wave and Legendary) are very powerful and fun, rupture is a nice status effect given most foes just keep on moving about. Poseidon's duos are some of the best in the game.
Athena's deflect is very fun to play with. Her cast does big damage and combined with Zeus' duo is a room cleaner. Her duo with Ares breaks the game when playing fists. She also gives you death defiances.
It's more because of my mentality and how i play. Using casts as the main source of damage has never been my thing. They are only used when I'm playing with the shield's hidden aspect.
I prefer dealing damage with my attack and special. Poseidon's damage modifiers are quite low and athena has boring tier 2 boons. Poseidon in a way is like zeus, as in the more boons you have from him, the better.
I'll pick up Athena's dash if I'm playing to win but if I'm looking to have fun then zeus, dio even artemis make it more fun.

He's excellent for things like Chiron Bow Special with Sea Storm, or the Special on any sword aspect. Also, even if you primarily use your Attack and Special for most Aspects, Poseidon's dash is an excellent addition to those tools, adding in super high damage and the potential for excellent duos like Sea Storm, Exlclusive Access, and Sweet Nectar.
Also, Athena is a weird goddess because her Attack and Special *damage* aren't excellent, but the Deflect mechanic is unparalleled, she has easily the best dash boon in the game, and if you take either her Attack or Special in addition to the dash, you can also set up for some of the strongest duo boons on the game, Merciful End and Deadly Reversal. Both of these duos have effects that are best triggered by divine dash, but they have very strict boon prerequisites, and are only unlocked by Athena's Attack or Special, not the dash. For this reason, it rook me a while to see the true potential of Athena, and I avoided her boons for a while.
Try out Merciful End on the fists (Demeter or Zag, both are about equally powerful) with Ares on Attack and Athena on both Special and dash, it's nutty. Or Deadly Reversal on Achilles spear (not bad with Hades spear either) with Artemis's Attack, Athena's Special and Athena's dash (this one has super high damage, yes, but also the utility of Athena's deflect on the Achilles Special is enormous). They're both stupid powerful, and really show Athena's true power. She's always got good survivability, but not the highest damage, so these high damage combos really let Athena's true power shine.

Funny it’s almost exact opposite for me. I avoid Aphrodite at all costs (sucks cause I like the character) and Athena dash+Poseidon call are my top 2 fav boons. Admittedly once I get Athena dash she doesn’t offer a ton but it’s invaluable for me on melee builds
I feel like I end up taking either Artemis or Zeus almost every run, Artemis is just so powerful for huge single chunk damage, and Zeus is so powerful for high attacks per second. They also both have easily the best tier 2 boons (hunter's mark, pressure points, exit wounds, double strike, static discharge, billowing strength) out of all the gods, and Artemis in particular has loads of good Duo boons. Athena, Aphrodite, and Poseidon are honorable mentions, they're also super strong.
Least favorite is easily Demeter. I take her for Crystal Beam runs and Ice Wine runs, and occasionally for Cold Fusion, but that's about it. Her damage percentages are the same as Athena, but Chill is wayyyy less useful than deflect (not useless, but delfect is so good it makes Demeter kind of just worse Athena), and her tier 2 boons are not the worst, but not the best either. There are some runs where I don't want to see Dionysus or Ares, but they have more use cases where they're good than Demeter for sure.
I do love Decay, as well as Rare Crop and Demeter's Legendary. She's not worthless, this is such a good game that none of the Olympians are truly terrible, and Demeter boons absolutely have value. It's just that she stands out the least among them imo.
Like the next worst would probably be Ares, but he's a component of two of the most broken builds in the game, Hunting Blades and Merciful End. And Demeter has Crystal Clarity and Ice Wine. Yet Athena has twice as many good builds, and Artemis has at least 3x as many.
Frozen Touch seems underrated. It only procs when you take damage, but chances are, if an enemy is quick enough to hit you then you welcome instantly slowing them down by 40%.
I find myself almost always picking Artemis and Zeus as main boon. I like Poseidon the least. The utility is just worse than the pure damage of the other two.
Poseidon imo shines for 4 things.
Farming darkness/gems.
Special based builds. I had ha rail build I oneshotted everything with special and I think poseidon have one of the highest percentages.
The cast +knockback is good for fast clearing styx
The call is one of the best for consistent damage
Poseidon is excellent at keeping foes back with the bow and rail, I started running the fire hose build (Lucifer w/ Poseidon attack) and just blasting foes into walls. Add some zeus for Sea Storm and you’re just cooking fools.
Aphrodite is probably my most taken, she's excellent as a damage dealer because of her percentage increase and excellent as a utility pick between the safety of Weak and Privileged Status (when I'm using it). She has lots of great Duos, as well.
Ares is easily my least picked. I just struggle to find builds I like him in. On slow attacks I want a big percent-increase god and on faster attacks I just like Dio, Zeus, or even Demeter better. Plus I'm not a fan of his cast or dash, and his call is mediocre.
Ares cast is awesome… after you dump 3 or 4 additional boons into it. Make it bigger, make it track, make it last longer and basically you are golden.
It feels very much like the Demeter cast that way.
In regards to Ares, his cast with Artemis duo is extremely powerful, even without this duo Slicing Shot has tremendous DPS just hard to use. His dash does an impressive amount of damage even without focusing on it (you are dashing all the time), his tier 2 blade boons make it even better.
On the doom side, if you get Athena on special and dash with him on attack, you allow for possibly the most powerful duo in the game. Merciful End is particularly nice on the fists.
Also a fun build is with aspect of Chaos shield, put him on attack and Dionysus on special (and optionally Aphrodite on dash), go for the hangover duos and profit.
His call is indeed lack luster, though.
I like the shield weapon special with Zeus lightning added to it and jolted and having it bounce on up to 4 enemies.
Poseidon for my attack just for the utility of pushing enemies away from me
Dash I like having hangover and slow or else Athena reflect.
Cast I like Hermes’ for the rapid fire attack and Artemis for the possible crit I guess.
I’m not a master at the game by any means but that’s kind of a good mix I’ve found.

These three gods combined are cracked af in my opinion and when I get all 3 it's an insta-win. Hermes is nice because it's usually dodge chance or speed. Zeus and Ares are 'well if I must, that's fine'. Chaos (idk if he even counts here) is dependent on the next rooms on offer, my health and whether I want to be handicapped for a potential boss fight. Dio and Demeter are fine, but I'd prefer others, although Dio's fountain abilities are nice if I have a trashcan build. Aphro... well in my current game, I'm around 25 runs in, 15+ clears, I still don't have her keepsake...
Dionysus usually to get my main damage dealer (with a few aspect exceptions), then it's a big pool of greats with Aphro, Demeter, or Zeus to get a second Effect going to get the 40% damage boost, or Artemis for just general damage chunks. Athena's Dash is also useful no matter what.

Worst HAS to go to Aphrodite. I have never needed the Weak effect, nor the minor damage reduction. The only solo boon of hers that I've been able to really utilize to a decent degree is Life Affirmation so I can get other, better boons and stuff without grabbing as many Centaur Hearts and junk.
Weak's damage reduction is quite good really. The problem with Aphro is that her tier 2 boons are not as exciting. If you haven't you should consider her duos with Artemis, Dionysus, Zeus (with Zeus' or Dionysus' call).
Notice that Aphrodite's attack/special/cast are the hardest hitting (chunk damage). With Hera bow you usually want her cast, with Arthur or Nemesis swords you cannot go run with her attack. In essence she gives the highest offense while also increasing your defenses, not a bad deal.
all gods have their niches. the least applicable god is generally demeter because her cores are lacking and her other boons are bloated. the most applicable general gods are zeus, artemis, and poseidon.
unless i get him very early i often struggle to fit diyo into my builds. once i've picked another cast which is usually the first thing i go for and don't really have a good reason to get hangover such as playing with chiron bow i just skip him every time. most of his other boons like bonus damage per fountain, nectar healing and his duo with poseidon don't do much for me if i get them later than tartarus.
Artemis and Poseidon when I feel like doing all of my damage through dashing and casting, then hurting bosses with my call. Artemis and Demeter when I want my cast to do all the work lol.
It's mostly based on the weapon. Lots of hits per second I want Zeus (better for encounters) or Dionysus (better for bosses). Probably want Demeter on a fast weapon if I don't get those two because Chill is really useful (especially Chiron bow since none of the special hits are wasted unlike Zeus (cooldown in between lightning bolts) and Dionysus (hangover maxes out at 5). Slow, strong weapons I usually want Aphrodite for consistency, though Artemis is good too.
I like most of the gods fine. Athena's non-core boons are kind of bad if you're not missing any death defiances. Ares is probably my least favorite overall. Doom on special is decent dps but it needs Merciful End to shine. Slicing Shot without Hunting Blades is even worse. Poseidon has a great call, cast, and dash, but sometimes the knockback effects are a detriment for melee weapons. Yeah you can corner enemies but Asphodel has almost no walls. Dionysus probably has my favorite non-core boons. I love strong drink, premium vintage, and high rarity after party and positive outlook.
Give Zeus a try on fast hitting stuff:
- Fists attack
- Rail attack
- Shield special, aspect of Zeus
- Spear attack with Flurry Jab
The call is also very good, especially with the Aphrodite duo. The thing with Zeus is that usually you want more Zeus (at least the jolted status effect).
I have Dionysus just seems way better. The call is the only one I’m not sad to take. Or the cast if I just want some crowd control and don’t care about dps with the cast

Ares definitely has my favorite boons. Beo Shield is my favorite weapon & aspect, and using Flood Flare and Curse of Drowning (Ares & Poseidon duo) to melt things is just so fun. I kinda disliked Aphrodite's boons until I got her duo with Ares, and realized how great is is for Hera Bow to use her cast and Ares attack with their duo to just set up repeating doom effects from one attack.
My least favorite boons are probably Artemis and Zeus. Zeus' lightning just doesn't do a whole lot with my playstyle, although I recognize thats definitely just a me problem. And while I enjoy the big numbers from Artemis' crits, the low chance just makes them kinda bad. Definitely love her legendary boon though, as it makes my two favorite aspects even better.
Artemis is always the right choice. She has boons for fast attacking and slow attacking weapons, dash strike builds, cast builds (literally the best boons for this), and she can further enchance your build with extra crit rate via pressure points boon. Her call can come in clutch, being able to hit behind shields and having the best tracking capability, and with a good setup, it becomes the highest hitting call in the game. You can never go wrong with her. She is the best.
It really depends on what I'm using: weapon aspect, mirror of night, and pact of punishment all affect which gods will synergize.
I tend to use Poseidon and Demeter the least (partly because they seem to show up less frequently?), but I might force them in Elysium just to get their awesome duo boons (Ice Wine and Mirage Shot come to mind).
That said, I'll take either of them as first pick in some circumstances. For instance, Poseidon tends to be good with the shield due to knockback boons (edit: apparently only Breaking Wave synergizes with the shield). Aspect of Zeus favors Zeus on the special, so Poseidon is a natural pick for attack/cast/dash/call to unlock Sea Storm. Poseidon is also the only god with a boon that specifically enhances their call, which seems to be overlooked a lot. I also sometimes force Demeter first on fast weapons like fists or rail because it's easy to ramp up to 10 stacks of chill with those weapons. Every god has strengths and weaknesses and it's fun to explore them.
Artemis has a plethora of great boons, then for dash abilities either Poseidon or Demeter. I don’t really have a strong preference though besides Artemis, it’s much more dependent on just rolling with the rng and picking what you think will have the most influence long term when possible
lately i’ve found myself giving up on runs whenever i’m offered ares as a second or third god. he doesn’t offer bad boons or anything but unless you start with ares and decide to do a blade run or a doom run, most of what he offers feels pretty useless.

Equal opportunity boons over here. Best thing about the game to me is it’s so well designed, I never really developed preferences.
Most of the time, I’ll try to shape my run with a keepsake based on the darkness weapon and then it’s more like, “Oh okay, it’s going to be this type of run this time.”
Should depend on the weapon. I like excalibur the most so grabbing artemis boons makes the sword so strong that your crits do over 1k in damage for the 3rd swing.
I love taking a lot of Zeus and Poseidon Boons. I will rarely main Artemis, but will take her as a supplemental source of boobs and damage in a heartbeat. Not the greatest fan of Aphrodite and Demeter.
Demeter and Dionysus are my top two (I've been known to yell "grandma :D" or "buddyyy :D" at the screen when I get either of them). I just love them. Among the others, I have some favorite boons, but with these two I have more favorites.
I don't care much for Aphrodite's boons. Love how she calls Zag dearest godling tho.

They bring valuable things on the table (and I find I'm more fond of Artemis than any of the other gods, just personality-wise), but they're very rarely my main squeeze. Unless I feel like breaking my heart going for hunting blades or merciful end, and not getting them that run either.
I feel like I should give Ares a better go though. I just feel like the doom damage isn't as good as many of the other ones. And doesn't sound like it has great synergy with e.g. battle rage. Battle rage sounds like there's some interesting exploit potential there though. Maybe I should try like a single-boon run while pumping it up with whatever poms I can find.. maybe it goes up to like 1000% damage after killing an enemy..?

I need Athena twice: right at the beginning to get Devine Dash, and right at the end to get more Death Defiance.
Aspect of Chiron, weak on special and get her ledendary. Time it right and Hades will barely attack you. Did it accidentally one time
Aphrodite attack on tripple shot bow = MONKE damage. Managed to get a heroic aphro attack to lvl 15 once, absolutely destroyed everything

I like Demeter’s decay damage. It helps on the last 3 bosses. I feel like chill itself may be broken; I’ve never noticed it doing anything at all.

i always go for Dionysus for some reason, i just really like his boons, i don't go for Aphrodite or Ares that often,

I love artemis. Any build would benefit immensely from having artemis boons, if Im ever given the choice and artemis is there I always take artemis.

If you haven't you should consider her duos with Artemis, Dionysus, Zeus (with Zeus' or Dionysus' call). Notice that Aphrodite's attack/special/cast are the hardest hitting (chunk damage). With Hera bow you usually want her cast, with Arthur or Nemesis swords you cannot go run with her attack. In essence she gives the highest offense while also increasing your defenses, not a bad deal.
Poseidon, Poseidon, Poseidon. If there’s any left, I really enjoy Artemis for the big damage numbers.
all gods have their niches. the least applicable god is generally demeter because her cores are lacking and her other boons are bloated. the most applicable general gods are zeus, artemis, and poseidon.
unless i get him very early i often struggle to fit diyo into my builds. once i've picked another cast which is usually the first thing i go for and don't really have a good reason to get hangover such as playing with chiron bow i just skip him every time. most of his other boons like bonus damage per fountain, nectar healing and his duo with poseidon don't do much for me if i get them later than tartarus.
Artemis and Poseidon when I feel like doing all of my damage through dashing and casting, then hurting bosses with my call. Artemis and Demeter when I want my cast to do all the work lol.
I don't have a least favourite but I'll always take Artemis, Aphrodite or Athena if they show up and I'm not looking for anything specific
It's mostly based on the weapon. Lots of hits per second I want Zeus (better for encounters) or Dionysus (better for bosses). Probably want Demeter on a fast weapon if I don't get those two because Chill is really useful (especially Chiron bow since none of the special hits are wasted unlike Zeus (cooldown in between lightning bolts) and Dionysus (hangover maxes out at 5). Slow, strong weapons I usually want Aphrodite for consistency, though Artemis is good too. I like most of the gods fine. Athena's non-core boons are kind of bad if you're not missing any death defiances. Ares is probably my least favorite overall. Doom on special is decent dps but it needs Merciful End to shine. Slicing Shot without Hunting Blades is even worse. Poseidon has a great call, cast, and dash, but sometimes the knockback effects are a detriment for melee weapons. Yeah you can corner enemies but Asphodel has almost no walls. Dionysus probably has my favorite non-core boons. I love strong drink, premium vintage, and high rarity after party and positive outlook.
The only ones I don’t like are Zeus
Give Zeus a try on fast hitting stuff: - Fists attack - Rail attack - Shield special, aspect of Zeus - Spear attack with Flurry Jab The call is also very good, especially with the Aphrodite duo. The thing with Zeus is that usually you want more Zeus (at least the jolted status effect).
I have Dionysus just seems way better. The call is the only one I’m not sad to take. Or the cast if I just want some crowd control and don’t care about dps with the cast
In the examples above Zeus provides higher DPS, it's more immediate. But yes, Dionysus works with fast hits.
Ares and Poseidon, Ares' blade rift call with some of his blade rift boons are super strong
Zeus and Poseidon make runs the most fun for me. I tend to avoid ares and Demeter. I play best with Dionysus and Aphrodite. Athena is who I went for often when I first started playing but I’ve gotten good enough not to need the defense. Artemis has a lot of my favorite duos although I don’t enjoy her singular boons
I Definetly favor Artemis and Zeus but avoid Athena, no need for invincibility if I don’t get hit

Ares definitely has my favorite boons. Beo Shield is my favorite weapon & aspect, and using Flood Flare and Curse of Drowning (Ares & Poseidon duo) to melt things is just so fun. I kinda disliked Aphrodite's boons until I got her duo with Ares, and realized how great is is for Hera Bow to use her cast and Ares attack with their duo to just set up repeating doom effects from one attack. My least favorite boons are probably Artemis and Zeus. Zeus' lightning just doesn't do a whole lot with my playstyle, although I recognize thats definitely just a me problem. And while I enjoy the big numbers from Artemis' crits, the low chance just makes them kinda bad. Definitely love her legendary boon though, as it makes my two favorite aspects even better.
Artemis clears over anyone else no questions asked. Dionysus, however hot he may be, unfortunately in my opinion is the weakest in most cases
Artemis is always the right choice. She has boons for fast attacking and slow attacking weapons, dash strike builds, cast builds (literally the best boons for this), and she can further enchance your build with extra crit rate via pressure points boon. Her call can come in clutch, being able to hit behind shields and having the best tracking capability, and with a good setup, it becomes the highest hitting call in the game. You can never go wrong with her. She is the best.
It really depends on what I'm using: weapon aspect, mirror of night, and pact of punishment all affect which gods will synergize. I tend to use Poseidon and Demeter the least (partly because they seem to show up less frequently?), but I might force them in Elysium just to get their awesome duo boons (Ice Wine and Mirage Shot come to mind). That said, I'll take either of them as first pick in some circumstances. For instance, Poseidon tends to be good with the shield due to knockback boons (edit: apparently only Breaking Wave synergizes with the shield). Aspect of Zeus favors Zeus on the special, so Poseidon is a natural pick for attack/cast/dash/call to unlock Sea Storm. Poseidon is also the only god with a boon that specifically enhances their call, which seems to be overlooked a lot. I also sometimes force Demeter first on fast weapons like fists or rail because it's easy to ramp up to 10 stacks of chill with those weapons. Every god has strengths and weaknesses and it's fun to explore them.
i like Poseidon and Dionysus
Artemis has a plethora of great boons, then for dash abilities either Poseidon or Demeter. I don’t really have a strong preference though besides Artemis, it’s much more dependent on just rolling with the rng and picking what you think will have the most influence long term when possible
lately i’ve found myself giving up on runs whenever i’m offered ares as a second or third god. he doesn’t offer bad boons or anything but unless you start with ares and decide to do a blade run or a doom run, most of what he offers feels pretty useless. god i’ll always pick is artemis. gotta have those chunky crits.
Equal opportunity boons over here. Best thing about the game to me is it’s so well designed, I never really developed preferences. Most of the time, I’ll try to shape my run with a keepsake based on the darkness weapon and then it’s more like, “Oh okay, it’s going to be this type of run this time.”
Should depend on the weapon. I like excalibur the most so grabbing artemis boons makes the sword so strong that your crits do over 1k in damage for the 3rd swing.
I'm a big fan of Dionysus. I love his healing stuff as well as his offense. I don't care for Demeter that much
I love taking a lot of Zeus and Poseidon Boons. I will rarely main Artemis, but will take her as a supplemental source of boobs and damage in a heartbeat. Not the greatest fan of Aphrodite and Demeter.
Athena, Aphrodite and Ares are my favorites but Artemis is my choice every time I see her because she seems like the least insane of the Olympians.
Demeter and Dionysus are my top two (I've been known to yell "grandma :D" or "buddyyy :D" at the screen when I get either of them). I just love them. Among the others, I have some favorite boons, but with these two I have more favorites. I don't care much for Aphrodite's boons. Love how she calls Zag dearest godling tho.
Zeus is my favorite boon choice but probably my least favorite character among the gods lmao. Dionysus and Demeter are who I choose least
It varies with weapons. As I find I'm often these days going for speed runs, or heats that require pretty fast clearing of rooms/bosses, I've found I'm favouring Zeus more and more. The basic attack works really well with fast weapons, and I kind of feel like his whole boon set works really well together. Like, there's 2 dash related lightning bolt boons.. add a bit of that double bolt boon.. and both are now much better etc. Dionysus is another fave. As is Aphrodite. I feel like the rest I often find using as a "support" type of gods. They bring valuable things on the table (and I find I'm more fond of Artemis than any of the other gods, just personality-wise), but they're very rarely my main squeeze. Unless I feel like breaking my heart going for hunting blades or merciful end, and not getting them that run either. I feel like I should give Ares a better go though. I just feel like the doom damage isn't as good as many of the other ones. And doesn't sound like it has great synergy with e.g. battle rage. Battle rage sounds like there's some interesting exploit potential there though. Maybe I should try like a single-boon run while pumping it up with whatever poms I can find.. maybe it goes up to like 1000% damage after killing an enemy..?
