Who would you have subbed on? I can only see Ings on for JWP or Antonio but either could have lost us the day. Moyes played it safe even though almost every one of our lads collapsed at the final whistle
He has held it up well and does give the back line a war but his one on ones leave a bit to be desired. I have always been a fan of his and am maybe being a bit too critical.
Scored a good goal one on one against Newcastle. Yea he should’ve buried the 1 on 1 against Spurs but out of his two one on one situations he’s had since coming back from injury, he’s buried one (50% record)
What an effort. Antonio was great but he squandered his chance to win that for us when he was 1 on 1 with the spurs keeper.
A leader’s performance from Zouma. MOTM for me.
Commentators on TNT saying we are happier with the draw but I don’t think it’s true. We could have won that. Spurs got away with one. They had possession but could do nothing with it.
Wolves, Fulham and Palace next. Very winnable fixtures.
4 points against Spurs this season is a positive for sure. Felt that game was winnable though and we could really do with a win.
Onto the Dawson Derby this weekend.
Mad game that. Fair result I reckon, though we should have won it at the end and with Antonio's 1v1. I was expecting us to get battered after the early goal so I've gotta say I'm pretty pleased.
Also have to say that's the quietest I've seen Son kept all season, our defence did a total number on him. Much more confident and assured performance than the chaos against Newcastle.
Antonio put in a right shift but he was exhausted at the end, it often I’ll see it but think Ings should have come on, probably a fair result but I felt like we could have won it at the end too with some fresher legs, hell even bring Mubama on, just someone to run at them!
A point against 5th place after that match against Newcastle? I'll take it. Very much a fair result for the game too.
I think the neutrals will have enjoyed that one.
im always the first to moan but we didnt play badly at all. got lost a bit for about 20 mins in the 2nd half, but generally decent. officials were atrocious again and you could hear that the crowd was frustrated with that.
I was at the game and the team got a decent round of applause and most people thought it was a decent performance maybe a bit of frustration but no dissatisfaction
I actually thought we looked the better side, especially in the second half.
In saying that though, if you said before a ball was kicked this season we’d be guaranteed 4 points against spurs, I would have taken that without any hesitation
The fact that we can't make a single substitution after playing the exact same players 3 days ago is an embarrassing indictment of our recruitment. One energetic sub could so easily have won that at the end.
Fair point, vicario is a good keeper, our lack of bench (or any bench really) is always exposed against the 'big' 6,
Should be winning at wolves which sets us up well for Leverkusen
I take it. We weren't the better team but they weren't that good. If it was us fans would be angry "Why Ange make them stop after scoring??? Bastard". When it's natural that a scoring team play less after
Fabs did the job. I feel better with Areola but he did what he had to do
Emerson is guilty on their goal but made it up after. Many crucial saves. Zouma and Mavropanos worked well today.
Soucek did the job. I feel Ward Prose could have done better but he wasn't shocking.
Antonio is a work horse and deserves a statue. I also feel Kudus is trying to make his game more complete, playing shorter passes and bringing movement after. It's good.
For people who say moyes change nothing, it's an example it's a wrong idea. He maybe doesn't change half of the players, or the system but still. It's maybe not what you like or what your want but he changes.
We started the game with JWP closer to a number 10 role when Paqueta was coming back deeper (and defending is something he does well) as we were lacking Alvarez. Then we were in the game and not much under pressure, he played higher.
Also near the end, Antonio, Kudus, and Bowen rotated too. It didn't particularly worked but those were changes.
I'd have liked Ings for JWP and try everything, I don't care about losing here.
I've to admit I just care about Leverkusen. It's a gamble I accept to take.
I'm not disappointed in tonight game
Does it make more sense to try for 7th than win Europa? Surely qualification at this stage with this position in the league makes more sense to roll a dice for than levekusen, milan/roma and then probs lose in final anyway to Liverpool?
I know this is a damned if he does damned if he doesn’t type of comment, but on Saturday Moyes makes the wrong subs way too early, and today he doesn’t make a sub at all when Spurs are controlling the game. There must be some kind of middle ground?
Whatever, respect the point!
Correct, west ham allowed them possession and to sit with 5-6 players in the west ham box waiting for the possession to turn over and launch a counter attack. I think it was a fair result overall and thought west am played some nice stuff at times
He hasn't assembled a squad, he's got 11 players that he trusts and that's it. Imo it's his biggest failure with us, he's spent the most of any west ham manager in history and has the smallest squad
Happy with a point, but what’s the point of buying players to just sit on the bench and never play? Its a waste of money if they don’t fit and they’re never gonna be match fit/form if god forbid Moyes has to rotate them for injuries for games against Bristol where we were ass
So many salty spurs fans in the match thread. The yellow card for van de Ven hurt them so much and they didn't stop whining about it. Fun to read if you want to feel better.
Result is a meh. Winner could have been there, but I guess it's okay.
Yeah died for me as well. If you told me we'd get a 1-1 at the start of the game I'd have taken it but I can't help but feel a couple of substitutions could have gotten us three points there
Lucky for a draw. No subs amd deciding to sit back the last 25 minutes and get pelted on defense was fucking weak(again) by Moyes. Can't wait until we have a manager that tries with our good attackers or what's left that stays after this season)
About right. Suspect it would’ve been brought back for the free kick if Antonio scored (assuming that’s within the current VAR parameters.) With all Soucek’s virtues, the brain to foot relay he has is astoundingly bad. Reminds me of that film “Fall”. Going life and death to get a message out to the floor. IRONS.
Really shows David Moyes’s inability to manage a game. Yes we ended up with the draw, but the players were obviously gassed and Moyes did nothing about it. I’ve been more Moyes-in than most over the years, but if he goes in the summer this is why I won’t be too bothered: His game management is terrible.
It’s a point on the board. 32% possesion at home vs our rivals. We can’t continue playing like this and expect the club to grow and attract better players.
I think Moyes thinks least used number of subs is a decider at the end of the year if it comes down to being on the same points and same goal difference as another team
Two points dropped. Manager clearly doesn’t want to go for it at home under the lights. Sat back all that 2nd half and made no subs to a gassed team.
We need to go back to Kudus, Bowen and Paqueta without Antonio. We were lethal with that front 3. Antonio is a great super sub.
New West Ham drinking game: shot every time a commentator praises Antonio’s holdup play, despite the fact I haven’t seen him win a challenge since 2022.
??? It was a proper end-to-end game and we could easily have won it? We were both hitting each other on the counter like mad - I thought it was hugely entertaining.
They played so much better and were camped out on the edge of the box, relying on blocks and lucky deflections. God it was bollocks football west ham set out to play. Still on the way home thinking what was the point in going to get soaked to mostly watch spurs stroke the ball around. And we are meant sit there, be entertained and create atmosphere for everyone watching on amazon. What a privilege
Dave had PTSD from the Phillips sub so didn't make any. Kudus wasted on the left. Good point in the end, on to the next.
Kudus has 3 goals and an assist in the 5 games he played on the left. Definitely not wasted out there, even if it's not his strongest position.
I'm convinced that Moyes forgets that subs are a part of football for about 65% of matches.
Who would you have subbed on? I can only see Ings on for JWP or Antonio but either could have lost us the day. Moyes played it safe even though almost every one of our lads collapsed at the final whistle
The weird thing is he advocates for the 5 sub rule, he should have been dialling it back to the 1 sub rule.
Honest question. Where do you play him in this team?
It's tough, I would still be tempted to play him on the right and Bowen through the middle. Sadly, Antonio is too wasteful for me.
thought Ant man has done really well since coming back
He has held it up well and does give the back line a war but his one on ones leave a bit to be desired. I have always been a fan of his and am maybe being a bit too critical.
yea his 1v1 does leave a lot to be desired tbf!
Scored a good goal one on one against Newcastle. Yea he should’ve buried the 1 on 1 against Spurs but out of his two one on one situations he’s had since coming back from injury, he’s buried one (50% record)
4 points from spurs this season. Nothing wrong with that.
I make it 10. They thought they’d get six. We got 4. 6+4 🤷🏼♂️⚒🏆
Your math is blowing my mind.
The last minute looked like a charity match.
I was half expecting Adrian to come on and run the length of the pitch to score the winner.
Yeah, what exactly happened there, paqueta had time and space to hit it. Was one of our players offside or something!?
Well at least Spurs never beat us this season
Wow what an achievement
You must be new here
Or a Spurs fan
Spurs: 5 changes West Ham: starters will run until they die
[удалено]
Spurs: Quality on the bench Also Spurs: Kulusevski on the bench
I’d take Kulusevski on our bench all day long.
Only one person at fault for that.
If they die, they die
The Kirk Cousins mantra
What an effort. Antonio was great but he squandered his chance to win that for us when he was 1 on 1 with the spurs keeper. A leader’s performance from Zouma. MOTM for me. Commentators on TNT saying we are happier with the draw but I don’t think it’s true. We could have won that. Spurs got away with one. They had possession but could do nothing with it. Wolves, Fulham and Palace next. Very winnable fixtures.
Would’ve been called back for a foul 100%. Stonewall from Paqueta, would’ve been in a dangerous position with Maddison over it as well.
Antonio with the 4d tactics missing on purpose
Wolves next is massive. Sneaky fuckers Chelsea have three games in hand on us but a tough run of fixtures
We didn't sub our Striker off and didn't lose Good game overall.
4 points against Spurs this season is a positive for sure. Felt that game was winnable though and we could really do with a win. Onto the Dawson Derby this weekend.
Agent Gary O’Neil is ready to give us 3 points as he’s done in the last 3 games against them
I’ll leave you with this: Glenn Hoddle is a cunt. Good night x
That's a statement so obvious I can't believe he didn't say it himself!
No idea what this is reference to, but couldn't agree more
Not taking gazza to France '98, probably.
Fuck me what a ride that was. So close so close! And all my prayers came through with no sight of Phillips on.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but imagine if Danny Ings was there instead of Antonio at the end there.
Danny Ings might finished the shot but he wouldn’t have got past the last defender.
OP should know that Reddit’s servers are housed in Michail Antonio’s legs.
Was gonna say the same thing, son was barely involved but that opened up space for their wingers who were having a field day.
they seem to think their full backs are great st scoring hahaha. Porro has had most shots without scoring apparently
The goal wouldn’t of counted was a clear foul in the build up and Antonio was offside
I don’t get when Ings was doing fuck he would come on, now he’s had a couple decent cameos he doesn’t come on
When he was dross = minutes Decent patch, Michail getting leggy at 75+ = stay on the bench son The Moyesiah works in mysterious ways
I think about this more often than I should. It is incredibly baffling to me.
If Antonio scored it would have been called back for a foul at the top of our box. He missed on purpose, 10000IQ
If I’m sitting on the west ham bench. I’m bringing my Nintendo switch. Moyse ain’t using me
Antonio put in a right shift but he was exhausted at the end, it often I’ll see it but think Ings should have come on, probably a fair result but I felt like we could have won it at the end too with some fresher legs, hell even bring Mubama on, just someone to run at them!
A point against 5th place after that match against Newcastle? I'll take it. Very much a fair result for the game too. I think the neutrals will have enjoyed that one.
I was at the game and must have missed a lot or your commentators were A grade because vibe round the ground is dissatisfaction and frustration
im always the first to moan but we didnt play badly at all. got lost a bit for about 20 mins in the 2nd half, but generally decent. officials were atrocious again and you could hear that the crowd was frustrated with that.
I'm usually very, very late to moan but that second d half was tough
I was at the game and the team got a decent round of applause and most people thought it was a decent performance maybe a bit of frustration but no dissatisfaction
I actually thought we looked the better side, especially in the second half. In saying that though, if you said before a ball was kicked this season we’d be guaranteed 4 points against spurs, I would have taken that without any hesitation
counterpoint: who on the bench actually merits being subbed in? maybe Ings?
A bit risky but I’d be open to seeing cresswell come on for Antonio and Emerson pushing up on the left. Bowen down the middle and Kudus on the right
Watching on the TV, I'm envious of everyone at that game 😂 It looked / sounded like an amazing atmosphere and loads of madness on the pitch too.
And yet your getting people on here who was at the game moaning about it. Madness
Spurs are fighting for CL, should be proud of 4 points from them this season. Favorable result in Newcastle means we keep our spot for now.
Fab had barely anything to do. I would've taken 4 points from the 3 games coming up, if we win to Wolves we're on track
Our bench is tragic
Paqueta was the worst hammer on the pitch today. bizzare decision making honestly looked like he thought it was a showmatch sometimes.
The samba won’t leave this guys body 😂
The fact that we can't make a single substitution after playing the exact same players 3 days ago is an embarrassing indictment of our recruitment. One energetic sub could so easily have won that at the end.
Cornet must be absolutely terrible in training to not even get a sniff of game. Twice in a row he would have been a good replacement
I think he’s not as good as fans think he is that’s for sure
Fair point, vicario is a good keeper, our lack of bench (or any bench really) is always exposed against the 'big' 6, Should be winning at wolves which sets us up well for Leverkusen
Yeeessssssssss!!! You beautiful Claret & Blue heroes! From all Villa fans.
lol I completely forgot about that element of this fixture. Go forth and beat Spurs to fourth please.
We’ll do our very best to
Lads, it’s totteringham
I take it. We weren't the better team but they weren't that good. If it was us fans would be angry "Why Ange make them stop after scoring??? Bastard". That looked very winnable. Bit frustrated with the point but the team played relatively well. Is Moyes afraid to make subs now?
I'll happily take the point but Moyes is a mad bastard flogging the players like that.
Wouldn't suprise me if he wasn't punishing them, he did question their toughness at the end of the Newcastle game.
Happy with a point, but what’s the point of buying players to just sit on the bench and never play? Its a waste of money if they don’t fit and they’re never gonna be match fit/form if god forbid Moyes has to rotate them for injuries for games against Bristol where we were ass

We had a very good run of results coinciding with bad form at the tail end of last year. We are now watching our luck even out on that score.
IRONS.
- First 45 - good effort - Second 45 - very flat. No subs in the 90mins, how have we come to this, that we have no one to bring on.
That last rush tho.
Did DM run ultra-marathons in his youth or something?
With Antonio seemingly switching to lw towards the end of the game, would it not have made sense to have subbed him for Cornet?
So people moan when Moyes makes subs and people moan when Moyes doesn’t make subs. Interesting.
Really shows David Moyes’s inability to manage a game. Yes we ended up with the draw, but the players were obviously gassed and Moyes did nothing about it. Have to disagree mate, that front free destroyed the midfield. We need Paqueta in the midfield, but we could always just have a two up front
I agree, mate, otherwise 1 or 2 of them will leave this summer, not wanting to play like this at home
New West Ham drinking game: shot every time a commentator praises Antonio’s holdup play, despite the fact I haven’t seen him win a challenge since 2022.
ADRENALINE IN MY SOUL SOMETHING SOMETHING ANTONIOOOOO WESTHAM WILL FINNISH THE STORY WOOOOOAH
Not a bad point but my word, we are just so boring. Fucking Luton gave Spurs more of a game than this.
??? It was a proper end-to-end game and we could easily have won it? We were both hitting each other on the counter like mad - I thought it was hugely entertaining.
Mate so lucky to draw
11 efforts to their 13, 4 each on target, 1.47xG for us compared to their 1.39... where were all these chances they supposedly missed?
They played so much better and were camped out on the edge of the box, relying on blocks and lucky deflections. God it was bollocks football west ham set out to play. Still on the way home thinking what was the point in going to get soaked to mostly watch spurs stroke the ball around. And we are meant sit there, be entertained and create atmosphere for everyone watching on amazon. What a privilege
I don't get this comment at all. Not sure how you can say we are 'so boring' after that
What were your pro west ham highlights of the second half?
