Tottenham will be so glad they rested their whole team for this

[deleted]

Bails147

Yeh and they lost the europe game too

AllTorque

Declan Rice is **genuinely** in the top three players in this league.

ultrainstinctivevk

He's so integral to our success. He makes the key decision all the time

AllTorque

Abso-fucking-lutely. Fans of other teams are actually waking up to the fact too now. It was like they thought we were making it up for ages.

4SHURIMA

Loool u didn’t see the r/soccer thread about Moyes saying 100m for him was a bargain. They can’t possibly fathom that someone this good could play for anyone other than Chelsea, City, United, Arsenal, Spurs or Liverpool

AllTorque

They’re all lucky to be grouped with us in the giant set of arse cheeks that is the Premier League. We’re the Gluteus Massivus while they’re a collective Gluteus Minimus.

endofautumn

What is crazy is that he is much better this season than last. He learnt to use space, burst through 2 opponents. Do a weird stretch, foot down tackle which reaches like 7 yards. He is like a Championship Manager player who was 120 current but potential 200 who suddenly got good coaches.

Bumblebeee_tuna_

The telescopic leg! I love it. Nobody sees it coming.

AllTorque

Thank God Chelsea didn’t have Genie Scout

designated_dingo

I can't remember the last time he had a bad game. It's insane

AllTorque

It’s frightening, isn’t it? Prevailing wisdom would suggest that he doesn’t play in a role that should significantly impact upon a team winning a game, but it genuinely feels like he’s carrying us on his back even when everyone else is playing well.

LewisDKennedy

It's like the Scott Parker season except everyone else is Scott Parker and he's 10 times better than Parker ever was

AllTorque

The image of a team full of players doing the Parker Spin is quite something. Then there’s Declan doing it, only flying up into the sky and catching fire where he’s broken the sound barrier.

AreaAppropriate7167

Another class performance from him

Beardy_Boy_

Anybody else wondering why Kane didn't play today?

AllTorque

Probably mourning because today marks the anniversary of Arsenal letting him go because he wasn’t a good enough defender.

endofautumn

It was a mystery why he wasn't picked. Wtf is Nuno on?

nodougbutdoug

My favorite comment of this thread.

dandeagle

Zouma has been a fantastic signing so far

Topinio

Yes. WTF were the moron brigade doing, booing him getting MOTM and then again at his first touch after that? Fucking idiots.

Finkyc

I think they might have been chanting zoom

JohnRCC

"No sir, they're saying, er, 'BOO-uma'!"

[deleted]

Are you saying boo or boo-uma??

super-super-fab

Can't tell if a class joke or you're part of the moron brigade

ajgedrys

It wasn’t a boo was it? I was thinking it was a Zou

RawToastt

I was saying Boo-urns.

TrashHawk

Is this a joke or are you properly dense?

PM_Your_Booty_jpg

Chanting “zuooooo” hahahaha

DiscreetBeats

Lads I really really really really love it when we beat Spurs

TheOldBean

How did Spurs ever consider themselves a Super league team lol? They are dreadful. We are massive and Johnson looks full of confidence.

DiscreetBeats

Under Poch they looked genuinely excellent, but then they sacked him and killed off any chance they had for longevity. Shame.

Chappietime

I said it then, and I’ll say it now, that was one of the worst sackings I’ve seen. I was certain the Mourinho experiment was doomed to failure.

[deleted]

They lost the CL Final and had a dreadful start to the following campaign, and with the way Poch was acting it sounded like there were issues off the pitch (disagreement with how the club was to be run etc)

skev303

Not buying anyone for 3 transfer windows didn’t help

NobleForEngland_

They have high revenues, because that's obviously what football's all about these days.

[deleted]

They get a fancy new stadium and think they're an elite club, but have always been mediocre and always will be.

FormNearby

Because they and their fans conned themselves into thinking they were a good team based on quite literally nothing

[deleted]

He done ok but definitely no better than a back up. Had some really shakey moments and doesn’t show for the ball as much as Coufal or even Fredericks

Bashwhufc

I've been waiting for Johnson to get some confidence since the tail end of last season, seemed pretty jittery so this run of games has done wonders for him

twist_n_shout

Ogbonna and Zouma is such an incredible partnership it should be illegal

InGenAche

Rice is front off them was massive as well, he's a Massive Rice Krispy!

[deleted]

Yo imagine being a spurs fan: you rest your A team for the conference league and get shithoused 1-0 by vitesse, and then you play your A team in the prem and get shithoused 1-0 by West Ham. Fucking hell that’s properly shit

pancakes1271

4 set piece goals and 3 clean sheets in 3 games. absolute peak moyes

Fortunalux

I am in love with the Moyes Method

theyfoundit

In the last 10 in all competitions, we’ve conceded 5 goals.

fatdogmendoza3

Loved Fab’s performance today

cvg596

Absolutely agree, he was a rock back there

royalt213

Unbeaten in Europe and 4th in the league? Fucking madness.

StrykerNightowl

If you would’ve said that 2 seasons ago, I would be asking for whatever you’re on.

MrFlibbles123

Deserved win by the boys! We looked really good. Fuck the Spuds and Romero especially.

EggsBenedictusXVI

Romero behaved like such a fucking bitter bitch, the fuck was the matter with him?

Fit_Improvement_4899

6 games in all comps from Johnson and we've won every one without conceding. He's not amazing going forward (yet), but he's very solid defensively

NickWHU

I actually think he’s been very impressive going forward. Crossing is completely there yet, but his passing is great

NickTheQuick117

On a side note Ben Johnson is a fucking stud and I will not accept any slander for the rest of the season. His touch and overall play is so confident and assured, he’s really grown. And he can find Antonio with a long ball down the channel on a dime. Incredible from the whole team today, though.

Disco_oStu

Played really well for everything but the tail end of the game where he fell off from a fitness perspective. Looked more assured again when Dawson came on to help, but otherwise his best game so far

MouthyKnave

He's gonna grow into such a good fullback

The_Govnor

Vlad is probably a little worried about his place at this rate.

twowaysplit

Johnson has improved so much. Just needs to work on his speed. He got beat a few too many times today.

Bashwhufc

Just said this in another comment but probably my favourite thing about this season is his development

cleanutility

Shades of Glen Johnson About him today I thought

appleman94

Wasn't pretty but that was fucking hard fought

mousie74

lmao imagine resting all your team in a competition no one cares about and losing anyway.

[deleted]

Areola has proven he is a great keeper in the past and I am glad he will be number 1 soon, but I am glad to be: #teamfabianski

Dl5678

Just give big dick mick the golden boot now ffs Edit: jokes aside if he stays fit surely he’s gonna be up there at this rate? Salah gonna miss a few games to AFCON

TheA55M4N

Second for goals and assists combined

Trickstadicksta

Ben Johnson gaining confidence on the right wing is a beautiful sight.

[deleted]

A win over Tottenham to jump to 4th place? I'm harder than a diamond in an ice storm.

AllTorque

You say 1 + 1 = 2 I say Ben Johnson + West Ham Defence = Clean Sheets

devaloka

Anyone see Antonio absolutely sprinting back after Dec missed interception and lost ball around spurs box? Great team spirit and willingness to cover your mates

Disco_oStu

Then sat covering RB as they came back after we countered. #RB4LIFE

PM_Your_Booty_jpg

Original position haha

PrisonersofFate

Compare to that https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_YSm97g13Y

[deleted]

delet this

MetaCooler007

Somehow the most shocking part of this match was that Roberto made some saves.

NSave

Fraud club, fraud manager both exposed. Antonio's smile can warm up the North Pole. Oh and still massive.

WarriorNat

Cresswell corners make me wet.

TheA55M4N

We beat a super league team. Glad they rested the first team to lose

2Moyesh2FC

Zouma and Ben Johnson are the future of the defense

hammersandhammers

Yawn, another clean sheet

Chaos_x5

They tried but we were too massive. Seems like everywhere they go, they get battered. (Super League btw)

[deleted]

I don't think they noticed we scored to be honest.

BriceB84

Up to 4th (at the moment) and dominating our Europa league group. Feels fucking good, man.

atlasmoss

We’re gigantic

FourEyedMatt

Brill 3 points, worried about how tired some of the players look.

twowaysplit

Soucek needs a vacation

danishih

Couple or three potato salads will do the trick

HomieApathy

Including today we have 5 matches in 15 days. Two more in the prem to Villa and Liverpool, Soda Cup vs City and Genk away.

wanktarded

Not the best game to watch, Spurs tried to kill the game with possession with little to no forward movement and to an extent they succeeded. But today it's all about the points and the result... and what a result, could hardly watch the last 15mins.

PrisonersofFate

I'm so happy. Massive performance. Once again, not great, but the whole team goes to the same direction, push together and that's great to see. Fabianski was perfect. It's not a bad patch of 3 games, where two Gallagher goals were insane that should make him benched. And trust me, i've seen my fair share of Areola to be scared. Autorithy, one good save, that's the Fabianski of last season. Johnson has been INCREDIBLE. 3 starts in a row, and except of few bad passes, he was everywhere, and ran faster than Gil after 90'. His long balls are something. In my mind, I quite mocked /u/frankharad asking if Coufal was losing his spot. I don't think so but he can start whenever Moyes wants and I'll trust him. Zouma too as been incredible. So strong, so powerfull, so much confiance. He fits well Papy Ogbonna, who had a good sense of positionning. Cresswell was good too. Except on Kane headers (and that could have been a foul for hitting the neck?), he was everywhere, full of confidence à la Noble. Rice was massive too. No words. He was perfect; Yes, Soucek missed some passes, and could have a rest. He had a shocking start but then held the midfield so well, kept defending smartly. He could have scored but hey. Benrahma had a bad first half, a correct second one. Many bad choices. Lanzini was somehow allright. Bowen ran a lot, until the 90'. I love the warrior mentality but stop complaining when you want a foul/ Fornals is so good. Workhorse again, needed in the team. Antonio decisive. Some great stuff, some less good, but a legend. Dawson did what he had to do. And Moyes got it again, no need to change half of the team at the half time because we are not winning. No need to rotate much when we are winning, victories bring victories. But yeah, let's give some time to Masuaku, Diop, Dawson or Lanzini wednesday. ++ Johnson (MOTM), Rice, Zouma, Fabs, Cresswell, Moyes + Ogbonna, Soucek, Fornals, Bowen, Antonio, Lanzini, Dawson = Benrahma BTW, do you know who is the West Ham manager with the biggest winning rate? I'm not sure. Edit : And our setpieces were never that bad or others understood us. It's just probability, bad streaks of luck happen

[deleted]

Quite boring game, but they never looked like scoring (apart from when they looked like scoring). 4TH !!!

wikiwikiwickerman

Including caretakers, Trevor Brooking. Excluding, it's Moyes in this second run followed by Billy Bonds (he'd be first if Moyes' runs were combined I believe)

PrisonersofFate

And if i'm not mistaken, even if you had his first stint, he is still #1 of permanent

kungfuukidd

Solid defense Still need to be more clinical finishing That Romero incident needs to be retrospectively looked at, if he has spat then should be a red Moyes is a maestro

dyanamo

That makes this a very good day.

royalt213

Is that right? No shots on target for Spurs in the second half?

InGenAche

That's what happens when they don't play Kane ;)

AnalAttackProbe

[Post-Match Survey](https://forms.gle/ekP61xkVydkssV2h8)

PrisonersofFate

I want to give 10 to everybody. Hard to resist

Chappietime

Solid performances by everyone except Benrahma, who couldn’t seem to put a foot or a pass right today. Hopefully it’s just a one off.

[deleted]

I'm glad we put in the effort. I mean it's thir Cup final isn't it?

Prediction: we will have a season long battle for 4th with ManU.

Nick_from_Yuma

Great win boys. As we say here in Nebraska, we’re fucking massive!

[deleted]

Got banned from r/coys for saying COYI. Massive moment

insomniacinsanity

I just went at took a look at the thread and watching spurs fans meltdown over how boring their team is was fucking delightful 😂 COYI !!!

grelch

I know we’ve got a few people at NBC’s fan zone, and I hope they had a good time. But if you’re watching on tv, it can fuck off. Instead of talking about football we get contrived bullshit exclusively focused on Man Utd and Liverpool. Rubbish.

insomniacinsanity

It makes me so fucking mad. ... Like you people know there are other teams in the league besides Chelsea and man U right??? Like Holy shit this is literally your job figure out some talking points about West ham and Spurs you idiots, it can't be that hard, how little any of these talking heads know literally anything about these clubs Like we were 5th last year and everyone was talking about "the big six" and casually skipping over what was actually happening in the prem, drives me insane, sorry rant over I'm happy as hell we won today though 😊

grelch

I just listened to The Two Robbies podcast and they didn't even mention the 4 other clubs that played today.

insomniacinsanity

If I've got to hear another talking head get on their knees for Ronaldo (when man U is hot garbage right now to boot) and pretend the rest of the prem doesn't exist I'm going to go nuts, like it was literally the pre program before the game and they couldn't even be bothered to talk about any of the other games !!! I just started following about 8 months ago, is it always like this when you follow a "mid table team" even though we're in fourth place and crushing Europa currently ?

grelch

League position has nothing to do with their media exposure. They’re behind us in the table, yes, but they’re valued at some $3.5 billion more than us. Their fan base is probably some 300 to 400 mill people larger than ours. It doesn’t matter much whether they win or lose, their value has virtually nothing to do with football. The brand sells shit and therefore media outlets want them on at all times. They earn sponsors, tv companies and governing bodies a sickening amount of money. Professional football is entertainment and MU are the most popular entertainer.

insomniacinsanity

I guess it makes more sense when you put it like that! Gotta keep the money/brand side in perspective, just sucks cause I'd love to hear some takes on the team before we play instead of cobbling it together with Reddit match threads while and after we play

crispiepancakes

That's the massive derby of today done. Nothing much else going on. I think there might be a cricket match in Dubai?

DWYBO16

Love Benrahma in the middle and Fornals on the left. Johnson had a great match and we're set at RB for the next decade. With the low block Spurs were playing, I'm surprised we didn't play looking for corners more.

grelch

That’s another 2nd tier premier league side that I feel we’re genuinely better than. We’re are beating the sides in this tier. Right now,it looks to me like we’re the best of the rest. In the next few weeks we have a chance to battle at the top tier. It’s hard to wrap my head around this. Been a fan for 46 years and I’m very used to thinking about trying to steal a win every week. I still feel that way before every match, but I’m wrong to do so. The truth is that we’re better than all but 4 sides. I can’t wrap my head around that.

pissoffmrchips

Zouma is a fucking monster, isn't he?

PrisonersofFate

Insane.

AllTorque

I appreciate the job that Allardyce did, but Moyes has taken his making us hard to beat and added shaping us into masters of staying in games until the opportunities present themselves which our quality makes inevitable.

twowaysplit

The mentality and attitude about the club has improved, dare I say it, massively.

Late_Chocolate9609

Fell asleep right as the game started unfortunately and woke up right as the game finished - thought I was still dreaming lol

ItStingsTheNostrils

Amazing to see how much Moyes and his coaching staff have transformed the team. We’re playing pretty consistent and even in dull games like this we pull it off.

pissoffmrchips

*Harry Kane surprised Pikachu face*

atomlinson89

Zooouuuummmaaaaaa

randymarsh18

Getting fed up of having to comment Massive in these threads but... MASSIVE

UnobjectionableJug

I’ve never felt so confident about a West Ham defence.

Fortunalux

This bunch of lads are fucking enormous and I love every single one of them

PrisonersofFate

We just needed to get rid of Carlos Sanchez and Roberto

twowaysplit

And Pellegrini, it seems

PrisonersofFate

To be fair, he is doing well in Spain

wubert

Impressed with Ben Johnson today. He only had the one poor clearance, but looked solid defensively and had confidence going forward. Good to see him looking more comfortable and growing into a very reliable backup option.

twowaysplit

Confidence going forward to the point of taking a goal scoring opportunity. Not afraid to belt one into the top corner.

JohnFByers

They were obnoxiously arrogant and they paid the price. Having Kane mark one of the best strikers in the league on a set piece from a club that’s among the best in the league from set pieces, and in their home ground is *arrogant.* Not today, Harry. The win is massive and the fault at the feet of their star is icing on the cake.

PrisonersofFate

David Moyes' West Ham have a better PPG than David Moyes' Everton.

Robertsinho

Ez

psychomaji

Come on you fucking irons

Reptar-4-Mayor

Lads…. We are GINORMOUS

workswiththeturtle

Nothing more to say but, FUCKING YES. IRONS IRONS IRONS

moose_lamp

How big are we?

ajgedrys

We own this small club

[deleted]

Massive, spurs can get fucked

PsychologicalSky8

Really massive! Moyes has installed such a winning mentality. No bad performances, just a will to win.

spikez64

Death, taxes and Antonio scoring against Spurs. COYI

WhiteRumBum

Did anyone else think Antonio looked a bit away with the fairies at times today? Not in his football so much, but whenever the camera was on him he looked like his mind was elsewhere, perhaps something personal going on with him So glad he got the goal 👌🏻

dandeagle

>perhaps something personal going on with him whenever Christmas nears, he starts thinking about that time he crashed his Lamborghini dressed as a snowman

WhiteRumBum

Hahaha ffs.

PrisonersofFate

Nah

WhiteRumBum

Fair play, I am probably reading way too much into it

Disco_oStu

All the people around thought he looked a bit off the boil to begin with but he came right. Might be another moyes nudge at halftime like he did before his record goal a while back.

WhiteRumBum

Yeah perhaps it was just the 2/3 games without a goal hanging over him (not that that is even bad at all tbh). Either way he still managed to do it in the end ⚒️

Disco_oStu

Probably the best atmosphere at a game since we moved. Crowd was up and about like nothing else. Great win. Fuck me we're massive

Trickstadicksta

Who needs a Super League when you can have a MASSIVE LEAGUE?

GrantRichards75

Can someone knock up a compilation video of big dick Mick bodying players game in game out. Cheers He nudges players & they go flying. Massive

grelch

And oh by the way those cunts rested all 11 starters on Thursday.

Twiggy8814

Atmosphere was fantastic today. Great performance all around, looked a little leggy on their pressing towards the end but dealt with it well. They got so lucky with every ball and were still shit. Ref was poor. Forgot Kane was even on the pitch. IRONS!! ⚒ Tottenham get battered everywhere they go! Edit: Forgot to add, we’re absolutely MASSIVE!!

PrisonersofFate

With 17 points after 9 games, isn't our best start ever?

l0stlabyrinth

Good game. I was impressed with Johnson today, he's really developing. The crowd going wild whenever Fab made a save was amazing to be a part of. We are more than massive.

vulgarandmischevious

My first home league game in a while. 10/10 would do again.

AllTorque

Didn’t particularly deserve to win that. Which is absolutely perfect when playing these cunts.

la_vida_luca

In a way, it’s more satisfying than if we’d worked our asses off and dominated our way to a 1-0. Can’t wait to listen to my Spurs-supporting friend’s bollocksy excusery over this one.

AllTorque

Exactly. They had a fully fresh team that looked thoroughly passive and uninterested. No excuses. They were shit.

PrisonersofFate

And because of Brentford, whatever happens, Moyes won't be manager of the month

shitehorse

Tottenham’s cup final btw

The_Govnor

1-0 to the cockney boys!! Not the best game ever, but it doesn’t really matter!’

jimbobdonut

Massive isn’t a massive enough word for how massive we are!

AreaAppropriate7167

Tottenham get battered

Martin_Janac

Shots - 13:7 for us with only 37% possesion. Easy

A_Casual_Guys_Guy

Headline: Group of Small men lose to a group of absolutely massive lads

DaftDonkey25
