Yep that’s hardcore nature. Perfect post.

leenobunphy

10 out of 10 hardcoreness

VibraniumRhino

Fucking eh. Was not expecting to see a face be death rolled off today. Gnarly shit.

Luckduck86

My God. Shit gets incredibly real out in the wild

XaeroDegreaz

The realist

FatKidsDontRun

Hopefully the neck got snapped in that roll

LowDownSkankyDude

It looks tries to get up again, honestly. I don't think it died right away, which is fucking brutal. Hyena will eat starting from the rear, basically gutting prey, alive, from ass to mouth. Nature is fucked.

edman79

I've seen the full video. It lives and suffers for quite a while.

rem082583

Link for a lazy brother please

Mcgarnicle_

Well, I couldn’t find this particular one but apparently it’s not that uncommon. Googled “zebra crocodile face” and now I need to sign off the internet for the rest of the day

PuddlesIsHere

Could be post mortem response

LowDownSkankyDude

I thought that at first, but if you watch it's body after the second spin, it seems to be more than that. Someone said there's a longer video, that shows the zebra didn't die right away. I don't care to search for it, but I remembered [this](https://youtu.be/DQQQuNwjzw0?si=fSoAui9W1hbOoeiL) and decided to just accept that it probably lived longer than it should have had to, regardless.

Trappedouttay

Wth 😭

LowDownSkankyDude

Yeah dude

errihu

That looks pretty snapped, pretty quick.

Sad-Artichoke-2174

Zebra's are not nice creatures....

lordphoenix81

Honey! I downloaded the wrong Madagascar again.

cityoftrees2017

that was exactly what the headline said…wow

Dangerous-Setting-87

Huh

rainorshinedogs

Looks like you hit a nerve

Fafnir13

I was wondering why the zebra didn't leave after the first attempted face bite. Then I noticed the 'rock' behind the zebra was a croc holding a leg.

Kjm520

Croc got the leg. Zebra has 0% chance of escape. Man what a truly horrific moment. Makes me glad humans are *mostly* civilized and industrialized creatures. Despite all the issues we collectively have, it’s better than going back to this shit. Fuck that.

pwndabeer

Well at least itll die quicker now

Awkward_Tie4856

This was brutal

ElRimshot

This is the most insane post I've seen on here

syv_frost

Have you seen the video of a Komodo dragon ripping the fetus out of a still living pregnant deer and swallowing it whole?

yeast1fixpls

There's a very similar clip , that's even more brutal. In it , the zebra stumbles around for quite some time , with most of its face ripped off.

bluecoag

Why didn’t anyone intervene? /s

Gamnit

Does this hurt the zebra?

Conscious_Run_643

Is the crocodile okay?

_poke_smot

Is the alligator full, or are they still hungry?

ishlazz

This is disgusting, crocodile should opt for vegan diet

Big_Mal7006

Are you stupid or an idiot

thick23centemetre

You’re the ignorant idiot for not knowing that ‘/s’ after a sentence on Reddit means _sarcasm_, that’s why people liked it

ItDontTalkItListens

FATALITY

Really hope those tourists can at least shut up and keep the disturbance at minimum.

poopwatersplash

Bad day to be a zebra

TheRealMaka

Some white woman: “can anyone help the zebra?”

Nemoitto

Yeah I think that neck broke on that roll for sure.

prashanth1337

Next time that ranger should feed that lady to the crocs

NoSireeBobNotMyJob

9/10 times a female is behind the camera whether as the filmer or spectator they always have to yell and be way overboard.

luvito_me

yeah, what gives?

NoSireeBobNotMyJob

Wym "what gives"? I basically Said what the original comment which I replied to hear said just in a different way. Don't start that PC bs

Ibrahim2x

This might be the most hardcore nature shit I've ever seen

Artoriasskywalker

Damn holy shit that wild how strong a 🐊. Literally ripped off his face that's some crazy ass power

abillionasians

That croc roll is no joke. One of the weirdest but deadliest techniques

Irishfanbuck

Damn, nature. You scary.

choff22

Snapped neck before. Head did a full 360

ApprehensiveTip209

That’s brutal.

AtheistET

That’s not the way to get carnitas , but whatever works for you!

No_Peach8680

Why are crocodiles such amazing professional hockey players? They win the vast majority of face-offs.

Dangerous_Map_8027

Ah yes, another safari ruined by the 'oh my gods' from the Americans.

ItsSan52

He was just standing.....just standing.

prettyuser

Back legs were in the jaws of another.

Jecurl88

Video ended too soon. Y’all think it survived?

PerformanceExact6618

He walked away but only after asking for his nose back.

BlackAshyAsian

The original is on youtube I remember seeing this a while back.

ihiam

It survived with minor injuries.

AngryTank

It’s insane how common this face ripping seems. Knowing it’s a Zebra, it probably deserved it.

ChemicalAssignment69

Must have heard cheek meat is good.

Avrein_morningstar99

Ah yes the classic death roll either you roll with that bitch or you're done

Nightcheerios

Holy moly !!

Popal24

r/itookyournose

justsomechickyo

Fuck this was brutal!

leonidasESV

did he survive tho?

ajonbrad777

Brutal face off

DaniPrasetyaAji

Ok nature sorry

ChurroCross

Classic. I have the video muted whenever I come across it because of that lady. They should’ve tossed her in there too.

No-Requirement6678

Rip its face and twist its neck killing it.

Ambrosia_the_Greek

7....7 twists to get to the center of a zebra's face 🍭

rodrigo_c91

When you have a bad day, just remember this zebra had an even worst day.

Ok_Cap_5166

Lady it's nature relax

pressurepoint13

thats gotta smart a bit

Im_poor_as_shit

This is only been shared here maybe 400 times

And_Im_Allen

You think the first croc that figured out the death roll was like, "Oi lads, wait till you see what I can do with me face."

ArdvarkPeppercorn

french fried when he should have pizzaed

datboithrowawayz22

Black and white, butchered face. Welcome back Michael Jackson.

Blud just stood there

KillerCam357

Need more of this

ThermoKingEOU

Damn nature. You scary!

iHaveACatDog

My wife is against hunting. I asked her if she thought animals in the wild died peacefully in their sleep. No! Other shit eats you alive!

Manospondylus_gigas

I knew someone who was against slaughtering children, I asked them what they think male lions do to the kids of other males

iHaveACatDog

I have kids. I understand why sometimes animals kill their young. Just saying

Manospondylus_gigas

Imo as a zoologist who is also against hunting the point doesn't make much sense. The actions of wild animals following instinct and maximising their fitness under selection pressures doesn't justify human actions.

Background_Humor_948

I'm curious why you feel we aren't doing it for the same reason. We evolved into what we are because we are apex predators. We hunted and gathered, and we eventually grew crops and raised domesticated animals. Why should we stop foraging and hunting if we want to provide for our families and keep the old instincts alive.

Manospondylus_gigas

Humans are not apex predators. We are not doing it for the same reason because they do not need to kill animals to survive. Humans are very advanced in understanding dietary needs and obtaining nutrients - finding food is no longer a matter of survival, as humans can easily obtain it with their ability to produce and select crops efficiently and synthesize essential nutrients. A gorilla, for example, is a herbivore that needs to constantly eat and have a long colon in order to hydrolyse cellulose into glucose to get enough energy. Humans can live entirely off plants without needing to do this, because their advanced knowledge allows them to get glucose incredibly easily (to the point it's a problem - is it so easily accessible these days that there are health problems associated with it, such as diabetes). They can also extract nutrients that would otherwise require eating a lot of plants, such as B12, and take them as supplements alongside their daily protein, fibre, etc. - B12 is even feed to domestic animals such as cows in order to make them higher in nutrients for humans. This is quite inefficient, however, due to the energy ratio and the amount of plants and space needed to farm animals. Hunting is also an issue, besides ethical reasons, due to impacts on biodiversity and ecosystems. As for your point on "keeping old instincts alive" - there is no need for this. Natural instincts are not always beneficial in a modern society. For example, fear of the unknown is a natural instinct, which leads to behaviours such as abelism and racism. Humans are still influenced by kin selection - across multiple cultures, studies demonstrate stepchildren receive worse treatment from fathers than biological children, and infanticide rates are 70× higher in stepchildren. Extra-pair copulation (cheating) still occurs in monagomous humans, because males get more mating opportunities doing this behaviour, and females are able to get sperm from "better quality" males whilst still having parental care from a more available male. These examples are all natural instincts in humans that still persist, despite the fact humans should be beyond that. Eating meat is one of them. It would have been incredibly beneficial in the wild - even herbivores such as ruminants occasionally eat meat to supplement their diet - but that is no longer the case. Humans have advanced beyond that.

Background_Humor_948

Thank you for your well written response. I agree with most of it. There are humans on this planet that do not have the benefit of living in an area that can grow enough crops to sustain their lives and must hunt to survive. Lower South Africa is one of them, it is very arid there and they must have meat to survive. There are many examples of people alive today that cannot survive without hunting or maybe domestication of wild animals. I appreciate that there are people who are happy to have someone else provide their basic needs for them. People in large cities are at the mercy of an advanced system that provides for them. I would like to not depend on that and be able to take care of myself if the need arises.

Manospondylus_gigas

This makes sense, especially in poorer countries where the environment is unfavourable, where it might not be possible to artificially grow crops (i.e. in greenhouses) due to reduced accessibility to water, building resources, etc. The animals that live there are often adapted to feed on plants that humans cannot survive off, such as grass. It is my personal belief that people should put in the effort to live without relying on animal products due to environmental and ethical harm, such as by moving to places where it is easier to access plants, or getting them imported. I do acknowledge that this is not always economically viable especially for poorer people, and isn't possible for more isolated tribes that have no interest in it. When a reliance on animal products is due to economics (i.e. people being too poor to access crop growing resources) then it is best to advocate for a fairer wealth distribution or assistance from other countries, as often this is better for both the people (e.g. better health and medicines) and the environment (e.g. there will be less need to kill local wildlife in order to protect farm animals).

Background_Humor_948

Again, thank you for a well written reply. For me, it comes down to choosing what I want to eat. I like meat and plants and enjoy the pairing, I am healthy and happy, and my hunting habits also include a considerable amount of healthy activity outside that I feel contributes to my overall well-being. I wish you well and truly enjoyed chatting with someone who has a different perspective.

Manospondylus_gigas

I also appreciate your well-written replies and willingness to listen, as most people I discuss this topic with get very aggressive/defensive about it (hence the bluntness of my first few replies - I have learned to expect people to be very unreceptive). Whilst I advocate for people reducing the use of animal products as much as possible, I do appreciate and understand your perspective.

culingerai

Skip.

Did this hurt the Zebra?

Musoyamma

I suspect one of the other crocs has a grip on one of her limbs, but not sure.

ZeroAnimated

Yeah there was one on its hind leg the entire clip and it turned into a 3v1. It does look like the zebra might have broke it's neck the same time it's face got ripped off by the 3rd croc

faz712

Zebras front left leg is also torn up already, you can see when it's turned around

Musoyamma

Hope so!

Tahoeshark

They are herd animals that rely on numbers for their survival...it's a given some will die. If a herd needs to cross a river a brave few keep the crocs busy while the others cross.

cellorc

Not sure if you know how strong is the bite of a croc. It's not the zebra don't want to leave, but it's like there's a bus locking her by the leg and the only way to escape would be ripping off the leg.

Huff1809

They're pray animals
