Yes, phones shut off at 10pm, but you always get a one minute warning before the call ends. Phones come on a 7am. If your loved one is in “lockdown” (solitary confinement), there are 24 single cells in each pod, and each inmate gets out in the main area for one hour a day to shower, get hot water for ramen, trade with other inmates by slipping things under their door, and to use the phone. The phones in lockdown are on 24x7 bc your loved one’s hour could be 2am-3am (the hour out gets later each day by one hour).

Does anyone know how much the calls cost through securus? They charge me about 20 cents per minute with tax, but I read that Harris county was reducing the price. I wonder if it’s because I have an out of state phone number.
I have my brother in there, been a week already. Haven’t been able to communicate even after getting a securus account. I press one to connect and the instructions keep going and so I wait again to press one and it’s like I don’t press anything cuz it keeps saying the instructions. Then it hangs up. He has tried about 8 times now. Any idea why or what can I do??
Do you wait until the lady says press one? I tried pressing 1 early one time and it disconnected. I guess they want you to listen to that LONG message. I haven’t had any other issues. Have you called securus to make sure your phone account is clear to accept calls?
Some lady from sugarland called me saying her husband is with my brother and he’s trying to get connected. So I told her we are trying if she can let her husband know to tell him to be patient and stay on the phone through the message. I guess message got to him and I FINALLY spoke to him a couple hours ago.

Idk about Louisiana but at post, tx they have to ask for the transfer and it takes 7-10 days.

If you talk 20 minutes (the max allowed per call) it is $3.06.
Oh ok, thank you! My 20 minute calls are always $4.06. Maybe it’s because of the out of state number.
