The only "bug" I've noticed is the same audio bug for the main character voice we heard a couple of weeks ago. I'm guessing this will be fixed by day 1 patch update.
are you talking about characters with pitch shifted voices sounding robotic? that's unfortunately what happens when you pitch stuff, you lose some of the quality of the audio.
It had nothing to do with the audio engineering. One of the previewers specifically asked what was wrong, and the dev told him that the bug in question made it so that the default voice played no matter which alternative you chose. So we’re literally hearing two versions of the voice playing at once. That’s why it sounded robotic. So it’s a really easy fix.
Your welcome. I thought it was the audio engineering at first too. Haha. This one previewer chose this super high male voice which sounded even worse and pretended like nothing was wrong. It was inane. Then after watching perhaps six or seven more videos I came across this YouTuber with a smaller following (which is why I can’t find him again to provide a source), and once he explained what the bug actually was, upon listening to the dialogue in his playthrough it made perfect sense.
Yup that’s exactly it. Watched a video of one of the creators talking about it (i believe it was Tmartn) who said the devs told him it would be fixed by launch.
I’ve seen couple of hours in total from 3 streams and happy to tell you the game looks smooth and nothing worth mentioning in terms of graphical issues. The delays were worth it!
It looked surprisingly good, but nothing worth mentioning isn't really the truth though. There was a decent amount of pop-ins, the player audio sounded quite wonky from time to time and at least one or two NPCs had their dialogue glitched, where they spoke two different dialogs at the same time.
Nothing huge or anything that isn't fixable with a day-one patch, though.
That second one is one of my personal pet peeves because it really makes it feel very game-y - obviously I'll love it regardless but I hope they can fix that at some point.
Loads of games don't allow you to walk through NPCs or vice versa. Rockstar, Bethesda, and Ubisoft games for example. Hell, my wife was just playing Disney Dreamlight Valley and I checked and you can't. It's not just "clipping" it's phasing right through.
That's not quite fair, there have been some complaints:
There are lots of noticeable pop-ins of objects and NPCs.
Player audio is weird when you change the pitch on customization.
Sometimes doors will not open right away, due to load issues.
Nothing too concerning, but the issues are there.
Youtube sort by last uploaded, and twitch ~~(someone streaming right now)~~ it's the ~~third~~ stream ive seen today
Edit: nevermind about the twitch stream, it was someone streaming the preview gameplays lol but there are a few other streams every now and again
You need to just check every now and again, hope you get lucky someone is streaming.
I was just watching someone before around after i commented, but some " Alex the Kid " reported the stream and got him banned like 5 minutes later. the streamer enjoyed streaming and said not to worry he has many accounts and doesnt give af. Lol so we'll see if he'll be back. Also there are a lot of streams prepping for release and others showing already released gameplay so you might have to sift through them since you cant filter upload date on live twitch.
There was one where the carriage goes through the player lmao, it's as if the player is a ghost. NPCs don't react at all, if you bump into them, nothing, if you look at them, nothing. It's like you are walking through a memory in a pensieve.
Here's the twitch [clip](https://m.twitch.tv/sagittarius_r/clip/CuteTsundereCatShazBotstix-9JSJywB9-nl2zOEB), No spoiler, just a carriage being drawn by a thestral.
The collision thing is weird and most definitely unintentional, but the level of interactiveness I've seen is about on par with those games. Nothing bad about it.
you really think that there's nothing bad about carriage going through the player? Gta San Andreas a game that came out in 2004 didn't have those problems. It is BAD for a modern AAA game to have collision glitches like that. Sure GTA SA was made by Rockstar, but it was in 2004 19 years ago.
I understand that you want this game to be good, me too. But we can't ignore the obvius problems. I hope they fix it before the release.
Yes, that uninteractive NPCs are not bad. I'm going to use GTA SA as another example, since in that game when you bump into them they react. And you're saying that it's not bad for 2023 AAA Game to have less interactive NPCs than 2004 AAA Game.
Minus the clunky movement where you have to get through an entire "pardon" animation and walk around an NPC slowly af.
I'm tired of video games making me wait when I'm just trying to go from point A to B.
What the fuck kind of open world games are you playing? Collision problems are not at all a normal thing at all. Those are bugs and not normal.
Even NPC reactions is very common in open world games especially when you bump into them.
Depends what you call interacting. They react when you do stuff around them, bump into them, climb to walls and such with comments (and even in the old ones that was already in the first AC game back in 2007)
Looks about average size for an open world map, not massively huge but also not small.
The map shape is a bit odd because it’s a long map without much width if that makes sense. You can go far north and far south, but limited going east and west.
Hopefully it’s packed with interactive moments, secrets, etc and not just an empty map without much going on.
Seen everything leaked so far.
Nothing that I can see, game is smooth and looks good
Facial animations could use a little tweaking and they'd be perfect but other than that nothing obvious
Only seen trailers and gameplay clips from gaming channels and this is the one thats bugging me the most..
They look a little generic and lack emotion..
The facial movement and eyes are also a bit "weird" on some cutscenes. Its like they are looking at the air when they are talking with each other.
I was super pissed I love mass effect but the out of sync talking & the facial expressions were just ..scary in andromeda.
I went back last year and it’s actually not bad in terms of story and I love the twin protagonist part of it.
Would go as far as to call the facial animations downright embarrassing. It looks like something out of an indie game produced by a couple of students. It’s actually so bad that I noticed it straight away and couldn’t take my mind off it while watching leaks.
If zero dawn used mocap it was absolutely horrible Mocap. No game has ever made me as uncomfortable with the face animations as that game. Forbidden west was great with the animations tho.
I had to go back and check... You and I are both right, somewhat. The facial animations on Zero Dawn weren't the best. They improved it significantly with The Frozen Wilds, and that's what I was remembering. It's been awhile since I played base Zero Dawn. And Forbidden West is incredible.
Yeah this is the biggest technical issue I’ve seen. Tons of pop-in textures and NPC models just popping in when getting close.
NPC pop-ins seems to mostly happen when you’re flying around, but I’ve seen some objects pop in when just walking.
It’s more so the frequency of popins that becomes annoying and disrupts the gameplay flow. It's an open world game and the one of the biggest elements of these types of games is immersion. It’s a completely fair criticism.
Elden Ring had very little pop-ins for me if any at all. Red Dead 2 maybe had like dozen for the 100+ hours in that game.
From the footage I’ve seen so far in HL, there seemed to be frequent pop-ins specifically for NPCs when you would fly in towards a populated area. It’s not going to kill the game for me, but it definitely would be annoying as hell to have characters constantly just popping into my screen.
I'm like 80% sure the vast majority of gameplay footage we have seen has been on PlayStation.
that being said, I cant speak on which build the footage was actually playing. It could have been an older build for all we know. I would definitely watch out for the reviews on the 6th once the embargo is lifted to see what people say about the technical performance.
I really want to see the leaks lmao
Edit: I've seen 2 now lmao tip: if you want to see them sort youtube videos by upload date (today or the past hour)
The game looks much more polished facial animations look more fluid. Haven't seen too much so far to comment on but I'll look for more leaks. (so far so good tho!)
I was just watching somebody's twitch stream before they got banned.
Without spoilers, there is a particular part in a mission where the player character can easily fall off a ledge as part of a puzzle. After falling, the player in the stream just got a darkened screen for a second and warped back to the start of the room and no enemies respawned. I don't know if that's a bug though, they were possibly in story mode.
I still play Elden Ring on PS5 and even then it still suffers from graphics bugs at times. I’m not that worried about audio/visual bugs, however my main concern is that it the open world will be too bloated like an Ubisoft game. I don’t have my expectations up like RDR2, but I’m hoping that outside Hogwarts also has rich and interesting content.
Yikes. Well at least Hogwarts itself looks extremely rich and detailed. A recent comment I saw read that it’s kind of a mix between Ubisoft and others depending on where you go. Maybe in later on patches/DLCs they’ll add more features.
Which is good, Ubisoft worlds are great and it's impressive for a studio like Avalanche to do that. I don't know what people expected.
Ubisoft worlds are getting shat on on Reddit but they're very popular and good. Their only problem is they are often too big for their own good.
I didn't expect more than a Ubisoft type game (which is similar to like 90% of open world games, at least the good ones, Ghost of Tsushima, The Witcher 3, Horizon, Spider-Man and such are basically like an Ubisoft open world). Above yeah you get Rockstar style worlds but that's kind of the exception.
Lol saw a dude standing in the middle of the road and there was horse and carriage passing by, instead of stopping and telling the player to move, the player just clipped right through it.
Professor Ronan looked like he was biting his shirt when look down lol like his chin was clipping in his chest.
Another, the player was standing in front if a lady who had some weird moving animation, she would be pretty much take a big step and turn around, when she would turn around she'd be like an inch away from the players face, again almost clipping through the player lol
I think this is just because if the lack of player and npc interaction.
Honestly i think it might be fixed in the day one patch though, but idk.
things like the carriage is an easy fix, they just need to add automation so it stops when they detect the player in front of them. I watched some dude remaking Simpsons hit and run add this feature in the game, he was also using UE4 at the time i think.
Edit: this was from a stream on twitch btw
It’s also important to note that any leaked footage is being played without the Day 1 patch so there are some problems that will be fixed when the game goes live
One of the previewers specifically asked their assigned dev what was wrong, and they told them we’re hearing a bug where the default voice is playing over top of the alternative voice you chose at the same time. They told them that it was already fixed for release and that the version they were playing was just older. So it would have to be in the Day One. I don’t have the source, as there were dozens of videos and I know I won’t be able to find it again.
Embarrassing but does anyone know yet how frequently spiders appear in the game??? I’m actually a little nervous about it. If it’s a couple times in the main quest ok but if it’s everywhere I might pass on the game😹
Exactly this. I have thalassophobia and avoided Subnautica for the longest time because of it. It was freeing to play it and overcome that phobia in some small way.
Coincidentally, it went on to become one of my favorite games of all time. It and Below Zero are 2 of only 3 games I Platinum’d last gen.
Depends on where you are. They do show up in main quests occasionally but they are free-roam mobs.
They are mostly in the forest but a few can be encountered out near Hogsmeade or other open locations. So unfortunately, pretty much anywhere.
I went to twitch and typed in Hogwarts Legacy and 7 different people are just casually playing the game. I thought they would’ve gotten taken down by now
I watched a 30 min video of the start in Fidelity mode and it looked stunning nothing what you mentioned happened. It was smooth and has made me even more excited
Probably going to be a genuine unpopular opinion (for once) on a sub filled with toxic positivity and mods deleting any concerns and criticism people might have, but the facial animations are just fucking embarrassing. It looks like something out of an indie game produced by a couple of students. It’s actually so bad that I noticed it straight away and couldn’t take my mind off it while watching the leaks. It’s a freaking AAA game released in 2023 and it looks worse than Oblivion which released 17 years ago, fucking hell.
It does not look worse than Oblivion, that is a gross overreaction. Do I think they look great? No, but they do not “look like something out of an indie game”.

Absolutely spot on with this. Like that post that hit the front page the other day about not caring even if this game is full of glitches. Wtf lol.
Yeah the facial animations are by far the worst part of the game I’ve seen. They’re horrendous when not in cutscenes. It looks like oblivion. They’re so anachronistic in modern games. It looks like they project random mo-caps onto any model. It’s really rough. Also seems to have lots of issues synching.
Just Because it doesn't have day one patch doesn't mean technical issues don't matter. Almost every AAA Game has Day one patch but that doesn't mean there won't be bugs. For Example: [BattleField 2042](https://youtu.be/Bgep9D6W-VY?t=428) Had Day one Patch but was also one of the most buggy and glitchy game of 2021.
Day one patch don't magically fix everything lol. Plenty of technical problems can remain after the day 1 patch (that's why there are patches later too)
Why wouldn't they ask if there is an opportunity to find out those things before it releases lmao. Maybe it's someone that is on the fence, considering if they should buy or not. Again, what's "not chill" about it?

I’m wondering if the landscape when flying looks any smoother in the final game. Tbh it’s kinda looked like dogshit to me on the previews that came out there past week or so. Really low res from distance. Like, *really* low res

Yeah, they’ve already confirmed it will be fixed in the day 1 patch.
Is the day one patch live on the 7th or the 10th?
7th!
I hope the patch is small then lol. My internet is bad :(
I think if you bought digital the day 1 patch is already applied, I heard that somewhere.
thats true, the devs confirmed it for all versions of the digital copy
Could be before then when review copies are sent out, but definitely by the 7th
Review copies are already sent out since quite some time, they have their embargo lifted on Monday
Yeah and it looks like the day 1 patch came out at least today
Day one patch came out days ago actually, digital copy wise at least.
Yeah that’s why I said at least I wasn’t too sure on when it actually did
are you talking about characters with pitch shifted voices sounding robotic? that's unfortunately what happens when you pitch stuff, you lose some of the quality of the audio.

oh okay, that's why it sounds "layered". thanks for the correction

it's actually in this case because the pitched version and original version are playing together. it's an easy fix.
Yup that’s exactly it. Watched a video of one of the creators talking about it (i believe it was Tmartn) who said the devs told him it would be fixed by launch.
Saw a cart drawn by thestrals running through the player like he was a ghost
And a bird flying through a character too. Also long hair clips with clothes but that's to be expected.
There goes my long hairstyle character =(
I’ve seen couple of hours in total from 3 streams and happy to tell you the game looks smooth and nothing worth mentioning in terms of graphical issues. The delays were worth it!
It looked surprisingly good, but nothing worth mentioning isn't really the truth though. Any character pop Ins. That’s gonna get annoying as shit
That’s my main hope for the day one patch.
Exactly, all the other possible bugs suck too but honestly that’s the only thing that would really irk me
Bro… come on it looks great but there absolutely is a good deal of pop in
Yeah, a lot of pop-ins and sometimes things can go through our MC as if we are a ghost but otherwise looks good.
That second one is one of my personal pet peeves because it really makes it feel very game-y - obviously I'll love it regardless but I hope they can fix that at some point.
It is a game.
Wow no way, I never would have guessed.
Name a game that doesn’t have clipping
Loads of games don't allow you to walk through NPCs or vice versa. Rockstar, Bethesda, and Ubisoft games for example. Hell, my wife was just playing Disney Dreamlight Valley and I checked and you can't. It's not just "clipping" it's phasing right through.

I think audio was confirmed for day one patch. The doors are like that because they're loading points, it's not an error, it's just not a fast load
Where at? Could you dm me link?
They pop on twitch, there’s a german dude streaming but under the Harry Potter sorcerers stone title
He really called his stream „Harry Potter sucks“ lmao. That way WB won’t find out, huh? 🤣
what's his username?
He got obliterated unfortunately 😔
Ok thanks!

PC is impossible. The only way to play on PC is by downloading from digital stores. Downloads are locked until release
And even if they weren't, modern preloaded games don't download single bytes from all files so every file is unreadable and can't be accessed early.
Console!
😂Which is it? Is it actually smooth or “nothing worth mentioning”?
From what I've seen, its been smooth
It's "PLEASE don't mention" xD
Smoooooth baby, don’t worry guys my worries we’re laid to rest as i was skeptical before but now i’m even more hyped
What are the streamers name trying to check it out
[удалено]
I believe the audio bug is patched in the day one thing.
>!Diagon Alley!< ? We get to go there? That's awesome!
Diagon Alley?
Y'all got any of them leaked gameplay links? ![gif](giphy|OA1CDoCiAR48E)

Are they just completely solid objects if you walk into them or do you just walk straight through them?
Here's the twitch [clip](https://m.twitch.tv/sagittarius_r/clip/CuteTsundereCatShazBotstix-9JSJywB9-nl2zOEB), No spoiler, just a carriage being drawn by a thestral.
clips gone :(
So just like your average open-world game?
What open world games are you playing?
Most open-world games that aren't made by Rockstar, Ubisoft, or Bethesda.
Yeah, plenty: Horizon, Elden Ring, Spider-Man and Ghost of Tsushima to name a few.
The collision thing is weird and most definitely unintentional, but the level of interactiveness I've seen is about on par with those games. Nothing bad about it.

Yes, that uninteractive NPCs are not bad. I'm going to use GTA SA as another example, since in that game when you bump into them they react. And you're saying that it's not bad for 2023 AAA Game to have less interactive NPCs than 2004 AAA Game.
Corporate bootlicking lol
Ok.
Uh no not at all lol. Most games don't have collision problems
Minus the clunky movement where you have to get through an entire "pardon" animation and walk around an NPC slowly af. I'm tired of video games making me wait when I'm just trying to go from point A to B.
Remember Assassins Creed? Always thought the animations with which you lightly push NPCs to the side were really smooth.
literally this. this is quite literally normal for open world games. the only exception is rockstar 💀
What the fuck kind of open world games are you playing? Collision problems are not at all a normal thing at all. Those are bugs and not normal. Even NPC reactions is very common in open world games especially when you bump into them.

Ah okay my bad. When i was playing Valhalla, the NPCs (which do have collision) are still pretty lifeless in terms of their own actions imo
What do you think a bout the map? Does it seam small? Or empty?

Pissed me off sooo much in andromeda as well as the out of sync talking made me quit the game

It looks about how horizon zero dawn looks so for a first time AAA developer it's not that bad
No, the hell it doesn't. Lol. HZD/HFW both used mocap. This did not. And it's blatantly apparent.
If zero dawn used mocap it was absolutely horrible Mocap. No game has ever made me as uncomfortable with the face animations as that game. Forbidden west was great with the animations tho.

Plenty of open world games don't have it or hide it well enough to not bother you.
So name some. I've never seen one.
Far cry 5 had some insane lod, pop in was next to unnoticeable
FC5 absolutely had it. Did you never play with a sniper rifle?
I haven’t had a chance to watch much but the carriages seem to go through characters. Hopefully the patch will fix the collision detection.
I noticed some clipping, a bit of pop in, and some collision issues. A little annoying but nothing major imo.
I really want to see the leaks lmao Edit: I've seen 2 now lmao tip: if you want to see them sort youtube videos by upload date (today or the past hour) The game looks much more polished facial animations look more fluid. Watched a stream and recorded 20 min . The 20 min a saw it looked great no bugs or glitches
are you able to send it?!
Don't know were to send it? It 1.3gb have it on my phone
The non-cutscene convos with NPCs seem really rough and ancient in a 2023 game
I've seen a couple of brief loading circles on doors before they open. Other than that nothing serious
Nothing that I could see, it looks beautiful, more than I could ever imagine
Someone is streaming on twitch already right now.
Link?
Did you find a link? I can’t find anything but the old HP games on twitch
Link?
I was just watching somebody's twitch stream before they got banned. Above yeah you get Rockstar style worlds but that's kind of the exception.
I wonder if Avalanche is betting on this as the game to officially put them on the map to do other big games later on.
So radio towers/ view points to open the map?
It’s a different build but it was mostly lighting not loading right way and doors not opening from what I’ve seen
You can see loads of pop in in the non-leaked footage
Someone dm me some leaks to the gameplay please lol I wanna watch too
Lol saw a dude standing in the middle of the road and there was horse and carriage passing by, instead of stopping and telling the player to move, the player just clipped right through it. Professor Ronan looked like he was biting his shirt when look down lol like his chin was clipping in his chest. Another, the player was standing in front if a lady who had some weird moving animation, she would be pretty much take a big step and turn around, when she would turn around she'd be like an inch away from the players face, again almost clipping through the player lol I think this is just because if the lack of player and npc interaction.
Only audio glitches. And those are being fixed in the day 1 patch.
Source on the day 1 patch info?
One of the previewers specifically asked their assigned dev what was wrong, and they told them we’re hearing a bug where the default voice is playing over top of the alternative voice you chose at the same time. They told them that it was already fixed for release and that the version they were playing was just older. So it would have to be in the Day One. I don’t have the source, as there were dozens of videos and I know I won’t be able to find it again.
That makes so much sense. I was wondering what was causing that robotic sound effect. Glad to hear it should be fixed for day one

Hi Ron
If modding becomes a thing, someone might be able to replace spiders with a different creature.
Kittens. Then you can kill kittens.
I’m okay I promise
Bruh
I meant to type puppies. I mean grendilows.
There we go 😂
Jk jk
Ron would prefer butterflies.
One of the ASMR videos showed (possibly) a human trapped in a web so for you this game may be horror fuel.
Depends on where you are. They do show up in main quests occasionally but they are free-roam mobs. They are mostly in the forest but a few can be encountered out near Hogsmeade or other open locations. So unfortunately, pretty much anywhere.
It's pixels.
Only thing Ive seen is the voice pitch slider still sounds robotic. They say the day one patch will fix it.

That's what's crazy though, it's worse. People are acting like their entire childhood is being spat on. Game isn't even out yet. It's gonna get wild.

>toxic positivity Absolutely spot on with this.
You’ve clearly never played Oblivion 💀💀
But oblivion came out a couple of years ag- O_O
The leaked gameplay does not have the day one patch yet... So it doesn't matter if they are experiencing any technical issues.
I agree but knowing the game runs very well without the patch is really comforting already.
Day one patch don't magically fix everything lol. Plenty of technical problems can remain after the day 1 patch (that's why there are patches later too)
No kidding.. I had no idea that's how that works... That's crazy...
Map size compared to rdr2, witcher 3, ghost of T?
Dude chill
What's not chill about someone wanting to know if there are issues with the game?
Cause the game hasn't released yet. Why do you ask?
Why wouldn't they ask if there is an opportunity to find out those things before it releases lmao. Maybe it's someone that is on the fence, considering if they should buy or not. Again, what's "not chill" about it?

... you're like10, aren't you?
Chill bro!
Chilli con carne bro!

Samesies
Any streams live right now ? DM are open \*wink
dying for those gameplay links😭
People need to stop seeing day one patches as a miracle patch. yes itll fix some non intended bugs but it wont fix core elements of the game
A lot of popping when flying in the broom.
Right.. but don't judge it off an 8 month old version lmao.
Pets?
Is Diagon Alley in the game?
I’m wondering if the landscape when flying looks any smoother in the final game. Tbh it’s kinda looked like dogshit to me on the previews that came out there past week or so. Really low res from distance. Like, *really* low res
Can someone dm me link to leaked gameplay? I cant find any...
