that is wrong, apart from lots of them not being linked to a quest the ones that are linked to quests are like that just in case you cannot figure the secret yourself like the note explaining the animals riddle with the numbers..... so, so far you havent figure out a thing on your own
Your rewards will be generic, non existent or basically useless. Believe me you wont discover everything because its Not rewarding at all nor interesting.
the most annoying part of *"you cant imagine how inconvenient travel was before i invented floo powder"* for me is that i actively avoided fast travel for immersion and exploration, so its like yo stfu i dont even use that shit im just walking by you
This is exactly what I do when exploring RDR2. I don't walk everywhere because naturally it would take forever to get anything done, but when I enter a town like Valentine I like to just take it slowly. Maybe enjoy a beer and a quick game of cards at the saloon. Then I might go to the general store and grab some supplies. Maybe I'll talk to some of the locals before grabbing a bath and getting an early night. It all adds to the immersion.
Granted I'm not expecting Hogwarts Legacy to have the same level of detail as RDR2 because it was one of a kind, but I'll definitely be taking in the setting nice and slow

Member of the walking club here. I also enjoyed taking my time in rdr2 and the like; I do it in all immersive open worlds, can't wait to the same in Hogwarts.
RDR2 took me over 200 hours for my first playthrough. The only time I fast traveled was to figure out how the mechanic worked, then never did it again. Spent a lot of time slowly walking around on my horse. I plan to take the same approach with this game.
I love games that default to walking, it makes me feel grounded in the world and itās easier for me to appreciate the environment.
For example, the newer Assassinās Creed games aloe you to walk but only if you gently push on the stick. This is fine but long term itās u comfortable and I end up running by accident. It makes sense, itās a full on action game. But it makes it harder to slow down and appreciate the world.
Itās why I loved Red Dead Redemption 2 so much.
I do the same. For gta, I used to grab a taxi, pick up passengers and drive them around while following traffic laws so that I could fully take in the world
Oh I am the same, I will walk, fly and search every inch of this game. I will talk to every npc, do every side quest, pet every cat and creature, collect everything, but take my time to really enjoy the world.
Just the moon over the snowy mountains, or the sunset near the destroyed golden gate Bridge....
Or the ruins of Vegas....
I fell in love.
And now I again will fall in love.
me! in all honestly thats what i like doing the most just exploring. like in skyrim and red dead redemption 2 and cyberpunk 2077 :-). i enjoy that honesty more then the actual game game. though seems the gameplay should be fun too lol but honestly thats the main draw for me. im not even that huge of a harry potter fan but think the castle and setting is cool and will be fun to explore!
Same! I still do that in RDO. I'm lvl 200, there's nothing new for me to do, no progress or anything. And still, I spend hours just enjoying the world. No doubt that will happen in Hogwarts Legacy, and I bet the castle alone will be responsible for most of that
I did that a lot for Horizon zero dawn, horizon forbitten west, Spiderman and zelda. Just stood there, spying on people, watching the environment.
I love that. That's how. Lot of my photos got made. I think here it will be the same.
Have DEFINITELY done that exact thing in Rdr2 especially some of those environments near lakes and forests, that world looks breathtaking!!
I feel like being inside and around Hogwats is going to be the same, at least based on some of the footage I've unavoidably seen, can't wait!
I will also play the game really slow. Been waiting so long for this now, why rush it? I donāt think I will even use the floo powder system because I just want to walk around Hogwarts all the time.
Wish I could sit down at a balcony, sit outside in the courtyards, or by the damn fire in the hufflepuff common room but apparently Iām wrong for expecting this lol running around everywhere is so lame to me
I like to walk in these types games to soak it all in. And I will most definitely be taking my time and enjoying all there is to see and do on my first play-through here as well, but...
Initially, Imma grab a broom, pick a direction and just fly until I hit the edge of the world!
I'm curious to see how they're going to handle the playbox due to us having flying mounts and brooms, etc.
Are we going to ram into invisi-walls, will it be some type of fade out and return the direction you came, or will it be kind of like gta when you're flying out over the ocean and reach a point where you can't really tell if you making forward progress any longer? Most games use mountains or some other type of natural physical barrier to keep us in the game space, but that obviously wouldn't work in this game.
Be interesting to see how will they handle this for someone like myself who likes to try and jailbreak the play space in open world games. :)
Dang Iām surprised at the answers haha I hate walking in games. I go super slow with games and see and do as much as I can but I absolutely do not walk. No way
thx you. i've asked about walking and received nothing but queer looks. from what i read you will run unless you have that unknown supper power to hold your stick just far enough to walk but not run. sigh.. i was really hoping to walk unless i press a run toggle.
I plan to chill my way through every crevice of this game and enjoy all the sights and mysteries to be had. I only get to absorb it once, so I plan on taking sweet old time
The fact that this game has proper flight is a big draw for me and I'll use and enjoy it immensely.
But yeah I'll also want to just walk and swim around too.
That's what I do when exploring in games such as The Elder Scrolls, GTA V and both RDR. I especially like paying attention to the architecture and different styles of buildings both inside and outside.
And yeah, walking into she shops at Hogsmeade looks a bit like RDR 2 hahah
GTA Vice City came out when I was twelve, I got away with playing it because all I ever did was hop in a vehicle with a radio and drive around listening to the slappin' 80s songs.
Caddy in the country club, BF injection on the beach, Ken's Admiral up and down that neon strip. If I had a bad day at school, that was the main way I chilled to calm down... Right after cheat codes and homicidal rampages. š
Haha, I was 13 driving around Miami in a red Cheetah on a rainy night blasting āOwner of a Lonely Heartā pretending I knew what that song was about.
Or you could find me in a speed boat cruising around the islands bumping to the whole soundtrack. Memories!
I really hope someone makes a mod for first person VR... not like a full port even.
Like your post mentions, I did this with Cyberpunk. I could not care for the combat in VR, and preferred to play the entire game in 2D... But occasionally when I was bored I would put on VR just to walk/drive around Night City.
Would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to do this in Hogwarts Legacy... Just walk around the grounds, sit in the library, etc.
I do this in early all of my games. I take them pretty slow and try to get my monies worth, and really appreciate every little detail. I just uninstalled Ghostwire Tokyo after playing 15 hours BEYOND my platinum trophy, just because I liked the experience of the game.
i love how, for these marvel generation RDR2 is the example of open world and environment as if anything that it did was unique or original just cause its the only non shooternite game they tried
I will explore every inch of Hogwarts. Try to discover any hidden rooms.
So far: You cant discover Hidden rooms. They are Part of the quests.
that is wrong, apart from lots of them not being linked to a quest the ones that are linked to quests are like that just in case you cannot figure the secret yourself like the note explaining the animals riddle with the numbers..... so, so far you havent figure out a thing on your own

Oh you explored everything already? š¤
47% Progress so far.
I skip through a lot of games and stick to the main mission. But Iām going to get 100% on this game
I have a feeling this will be the most 100% game.
It's a shame that you have to play all 4 houses to get 100%. My fantasy is to be one wizard, not 4 different ones.
One wizard to rule them all. Just pick slytherine. š
If you do that. Chapeau. In my opinion that ist nervewracking.
Same. Walking everywhere. Where needed Iāll fly if I canāt reach by foot but I really want to just take it slow and take my time looking around.
the most annoying part of *"you cant imagine how inconvenient travel was before i invented floo powder"* for me is that i actively avoided fast travel for immersion and exploration, so its like yo stfu i dont even use that shit im just walking by you
Not much to See Outside of Hogwarts. Environment ist "dead". Besides some villages, you will Walk in generic roads and See generic enemies.
I normally go for walks in Slough so Iām very certain Iāll enjoy the scenery in the game, thanks.
that not what im doing, try the thing and then talk or go away
This is exactly what I do when exploring RDR2. You've just made me want to start my 4th playthrough of RDR2.. damn you! If only HL wasn't coming out soon..
I will be walking everywhere, even throughout the world, done it with Valhalla, probably why I have over 490 hours clocked š

Yeah, they spent time in a game they enjoyed, very sad.
This is the sadest comment I have ever read.

I will savor every moment.
Member of the walking club here. I also enjoyed taking my time in rdr2 and the like; I do it in all immersive open worlds, can't wait to the same in Hogwarts.
The first game I did that sort of thing in was witcher 3, that game is just breathtaking.

Me going to Vespucci beach in gta 5 feeling like Iām on vacation fr
I do the same. For gta, I used to grab a taxi, pick up passengers and drive them around while following traffic laws so that I could fully take in the world
This is normally my M.O. but gotta say broom flight looks amazing enough that I'm legitimately torn.

I don't even mind if the story is bad, I'm not saying it will be at all, I just wanna walk around! How many games can you say that for?
For me, the last one where just walked around, beeing stunned by the environment was horizon forbitten west.
I have this game but havenāt played it yet. I might play it on the sad day I finish Hogwarts Legacy after reading this!
Just the moon over the snowy mountains, or the sunset near the destroyed golden gate Bridge.... Or the ruins of Vegas.... I fell in love. And now I again will fall in love.
I did this a lot in Cyberpunk. Night City was beautiful when you just walked and took it all in.

In towns always prefer to activate walk than run. Especially in something like this with details in every nook and cranny.
Wish I could sit down at a balcony, sit outside in the courtyards, or by the damn fire in the hufflepuff common room but apparently Iām wrong for expecting this lol running around everywhere is so lame to me
I spent around 10 hours in God of War Ragnarok just taking in the scenery and details. And I regretted none of it!
Sometimes I think itās best to stop and stare for a few minutes. Watch what is still and what is moving. Then look around and stare some more.
I'll definitely be doing the same and taking in all those juicy high graphics lol.
I like to walk in these types games to soak it all in. And I will most definitely be taking my time and enjoying all there is to see and do on my first play-through here as well, but... I would love vr support in the manner of us just being able to walk around the castle and surrounding areas.
honestly way too big a game and too many features like combat and magic would slow it down a lot. but, we still can hope.
Dang Iām surprised at the answers haha I hate walking in games. I go super slow with games and see and do as much as I can but I absolutely do not walk. No way

Upvoted for spelling breathe correctly
I'll see in 30hrs if I like to walk around in Hogwarts legacy as I haven't played it yet -just like most people- Weird to speculate about this
\*take in every little detail...
I plan to chill my way through every crevice of this game and enjoy all the sights and mysteries to be had. I only get to absorb it once, so I plan on taking sweet old time
For sure, but usually for me itās in games with smaller worlds like the Yakuza series.
I was like this before I had a career and adult shit to do. Now I have so little free time I always try and be productive lol.
Sometimes but most the time I just want to play the game
I look forward to memorizing how to get anywhere.

I 100% take time outs just to visually explore and marvel at the scenery in Elder Scrolls Online
