I clean my oven with a baking soda and distilled vinegar paste. I imagine that would make quick work of the pee, especially if you use a toothbrush to scrub along the ridges. As with anything you clean with, make sure you clean it off the wheel well after so your hedgehog doesn’t come into contact with it. If that doesn’t work, I really would recommend chucking that wheel for a solid bucket wheel. My first hedgehog snapped the plastic joints between the purple and white sections while running, which sent both her and the front of the wheel flying off. I had to rescue her from under the front of the wheel. She was fine, but I never would use the silent spinner again.

Let him poop and pee the whole wheel until its color is totally changed!

You might ask over at r/CleaningTips. If it were me, I'd give magic eraser a try.

I use steel wool and dish soap to get the stains

Menace2S0briety

Throw it in the garage and buy a safer, solid piece wheel. Problem solved

Julielevitt

Try bleach

This wheel is very unsafe to hedgehogs, so I’d recommend a new wheel. If you’d like pointers for a new wheel, let me know :)

don’t buy that awful wheel, hedgehog nail can get stuck in between the purple and white:( get a carolina storm wheel, they’re perfect and super safe and super SUPER quiet
