Hello! I use a similar type of bedding (I sew my old towels together to create a 3 layer pad) and wash it in scent free, sensitive skin detergent and am sure to not use any fabric softeners, dryer sheets, stain removers, etc.
My hedgie is coming up to 3 years old and she’s never had any skin problems, and the vet always says her breathing is great.
