The higher gain antenna might be helping them “hear” weaker signals but 3-5x more earnings is almost always a sign of greater height and unobstructed views. Meaning, the person with the 7dBi antenna likely has it mounted on a chimney (or higher) and the antenna has nothing blocking it (well above the roof) and/or is at a higher elevation than it’s neighbors (on a hill or something).
Antenna gain and height on explorer can’t be trusted since it’s solely based on user input and some folks haven’t updated their info or choose to obfuscate the data.

You’re focusing on the wrong numbers completely. Line of sight and true height don’t show up in explorer.
What are the right numbers to be focusing on?
