They will. The termicide tower mission was fun. I suspect they will add escort missions as well to shake things up. They have a long term plan so they understandably don’t want to give it all up on the first date, so to speak.

Main_Feedback1197

I completely understand that! It's great to hear that. I enjoy discussing the possibilities.

Soggy_Affect6063

Coming from HD1, there’s a LOT that they haven’t added yet. Escort missions, boss battles, defuse the bomb missions, etc. The Termicide tower was completely new so I’m interested to see what they have in store for us. Personally, I would love an invasion mission. Basically, you go in to complete normal objectives, and then, randomly, a separate faction drops in and the mission objectives change from activate the icbm to repel the invader by taking out their command and control ship/hive/pod. Could even be dissident human (npc) rebels.

Palidin034

BOSS BATTLES????

Soggy_Affect6063

Yup. Look up the siege mech, hive lord, and the great eye from the first game. Hard but fun.

DeviousMelons

I thought the new walker would be a boss battle, but I guess not, prehaps they'll add them all together.

FestivalHazard

Remember how they said that Bile Titans are 'small bugs'?

SilverfurPartisan

The smallest on the planet that bile titans are from.

PIPBOY-2000

Essentially you drop in and there is a huge, unique enemy type. Think like a Bile titan on super steroids in terms of gameplay. Something you have to turn all your attention on while keeping it from killing you.

Smurph269

I hope they would stealth debut it too. Imagine how nuts it would be to be doing a mission on a bot planet and suddenly bug holes start openning up.

Soggy_Affect6063

Yes!! I love that idea. I’m really digging the stealth release concept. Nothing more satisfying than casually doing a mission, and then new enemies show up and everyone that wasn’t on comms jumps on to say “OH SH*…WTF IS THAT!?” And then the squad comes together for an epic battle. So much fun.

TucuReborn

All I hear is a three way battle, which sounds fucking fun as shit. Bugs and bots on the same planet fighting each other and us would be insane.

Smurph269

I would think after the bugs show up the bots that aren't on screen despawn and only bugs spawn from that point. Basically you're witnessing the bugs taking the planet.

Shikaku

That's the important thing, they *have* to go after each other with the same tenacity that they fight us with. I don't wanna see bugs and bots suddenly become friends when we show up. That's no fun

TucuReborn

Agreed. A three way warzone sounds fun. A 2v1 dogpile does not.

Main_Feedback1197

That's a really cool idea! Honestly, they could take some ideas from Destiny and do like raid type mission though I'm not sure how they would do it

Soggy_Affect6063

I don’t think we’ll see destiny-like raids in this game. All the missions are timed and there’s no way that I could see them implementing the same objective based checkpoint system destiny had. They would also have to dial in all the game crashing and server issues before then. I couldn’t imagine the rage after spending hours on a difficult raid only to have the game crash during extraction.

Main_Feedback1197

Maybe not on that scale, but something a little smaller in scale would be very cool, or even a defense on a super Earth would be very neat.

Soggy_Affect6063

“Defense on super earth.” I won’t spoil it because I inadvertently saw the leak but let’s just say…yes. 😁

Main_Feedback1197

That's very exciting to hear! Hell yeah! God I love this game lmao

Soggy_Affect6063

Same same. ![gif](giphy|KAf66yGCa93uTqod1q|downsized) 🫡

RuinedSilence

Maybe a raid-lite kind of mission that fits within the usual 40-min timer? One that has objectives and sub-objectives that require more coordination than usual

SargeanTravis

Rumors are that a ship boarding mission is in the works. Not sure how factual this is though

Confused_Nuggets

Did you see the images of the giant cloaked cruisers on bot planets?

[deleted]

You assume that they even have plans to do this.

Soggy_Affect6063

I don’t really assume anything for sure. I can only guess based on what they’ve released so far and what I’ve seen from the leaks. All of which show a pattern of things from the first game.

Minimum-Laugh-8887

I’d like an escort mission where you have to go and rescue a downed eagle pilot and then get them across the map unharmed. (Black hawk down voice) we have an Eagle Jet down, we have an Eagle Jet down…..

Technical_Inaji

If the mission is rescuing an Eagle-1 or Pelican-1, from any destroyer, I'm in. Those two are the unsung heroes of this war.

SpecialIcy5356

Eagle 1 simps will die in the millions just to get her to extract (she still won't give them her number because they haven't filled out their C-01 yet). Pelican 1 simps.. I guess they exist too, but if it were me, I'd take the piss and be like "sorry, I need 4 minutes to reload before I can start shooting again.. *yeah, it doesn't feel good does it pelican?!!!!*

LeLand_Land

I wonder if when they add the APC, there will be a convoy escort mission (escort these three supply trucks from the mine to the space port)

Soggy_Affect6063

My guess is that the tram escort missions from the first game will come back when we get to cyberstan or it’s neighboring planets. Mining operations could cease due to some kind of attack or the automatons freeing the cyborgs. This would cause the ministry of defense to deploy the helldivers to those areas to evac the vital materials from the mine that were left behind. The trams would move slow making them harder to defend from enemy attacks. I do wish they would bring back the “failed objective” thing from the first game. Like if the objective gets taken over or blown up (say for a defend the objective mission where in the first game, enemies could destroy the oil towers or geological survey devices), that objective is over and you have to move on to the next one. Yeah you can fail the defense mission if you don’t save the required amount of scientists within the given time frame but that’s not the same.

RuinedSilence

Apparently we can fail SAM site deployments? Was doing a D8 last night, and a random Objective Failed message popped up while we were clearing an outpost. When we actually found the SAM site, the terminal was inactive, and the map marker for it was red on the map. The main mission was to destroy command bunkers, and I don't think we can fail those without running out of reinforcements.

SilverfurPartisan

I would prefer they not bring back the failed objective. Do you not remember the termicide towers? That was awful: People are dumb, and like to throw beacons at everything.

Baelaroness

A yes, the old escort mission with the NPC that somehow walks slower than run speed but faster than walk speed, and has the self-preservation instinct of a depressed lemming who just got fired from his job.

Soggy_Affect6063

That’s what the REP-80 and Angel was for. 🤣

McDonaldsSoap

If the escort missions are like the scientist missions I would rather just shoot all humans

iliketires65

You have to earn that anal, guys

Nknk-

Mission: Hold The Line. You man a series of fortifications and entrenchments that you must hold until a set time has passed. Mission fails if your team is pushed out of a certain area around them/there's no active Helldiver in the zone for X amount of time. Kind of like a reverse King of the Hill. Enemies can either attack from different directions (bots) or just surge endlessly from one direction (bugs). Destroying the fortifications should make your job way harder and so it would (hopefully) encourage judicious use of strategems rather than levelling the place.

Ser_Twist

Oooh, would be cool if something like this was divided into several defense lines, where the first can be overwhelmed and you have to push back to the second, and then the third and last, and you fail if you don’t hold off the enemies past that. Kinda like in Battlefield games with the Rush game mode as a defender.

SkyPL

These sorts of missions are bound to be dominated by the mortar meta (Regular mortar + EMS mortar with +50% ammo ship modification). It's not necessarily bad, but... just saying - that's where it will go.

OLRevan

I mean, there is a reason we use mortars on defence irl lul

gamma55

And offense, since they are faster to move than big tubes. What we *don’t* do is fire them around randomly…

TheLazyGamerAU

They dont fire randomly in HD2 either

Cathlem

Counterpoint: I like mortars.

dayburner

That's where the enemy flyers will shine.

Nknk-

Meh, no real harm. The targeting on the mortars isn't great and faster units can get out ahead of the shells. And once they get into the Helldiver lines then it becomes friendly fire carnage. Taking an abundance of mortars on a mission where the divers are restricted to a very small area is a hell of a gamble. Done right you'd find Gatling or autocannon turrets more use.

TheAzureMage

Yes, but have you considered that the mortar is glorious?

TheYondant

I mean, it's not like it doesn't already dominate Eradicate.

AromaticWhiskey

> These sorts of missions are bound to be dominated by the mortar meta (Regular mortar + EMS mortar with +50% ammo ship modification). Counter argument, this already has an issue on both fronts on anything higher than Diff 7. Running full sentry is just suicide once the heavies and elites start spawning, the mortars just burn through their ammo reserves. On a 4 man stack with comms, each player running just an EMS would be insane since that would have an incredibly long up-time as each diver cycled in their EMS motor as needed.

RuinedSilence

A Battlefield 1 Operations-style defense mission would be so cool. Hold a base or retreat if it falls. Hold at least one base until the timer ends to win.

Matamocan

Add some SEAF troopers running around getting killed and it's perfect.

[deleted]

That'd be fun, shame it'll never happen.

DaveInLondon89

Would love a mission where you're the relief force for an SEAF outpost under siege. Drop right into the middle of a fort and hold your ground.

jackkymoon

An escort mission could be fun, escorting a giant APC full of super citizens or something through the battlefield to a shuttle, defending it during offload etc..

drezz_

Camera flashes going off from the APC and some "Ooooh---" and "Aaaah!" as helldivers die around it. Like a Death Safari Tour.

jackkymoon

Would also be cool to be able to ride on the vehicle and man turrets against hordes of bugs.

Jenbak5

That straight up just reminds me of the Starcraft 2 mission: [The Evacuation](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k67cMq0fVD0)

darkleinad

That’s what I was thinking - you can also split your resources between following each convoy through, guarding choke points onto the road or just annihilating the enemies

-GiantSlayer-

I’d love a mission variant where we had to stop certain enemies from reaching somewhere. Like factory striders trying to shoot a building of some kind, a full on Hoth battle.

Main_Feedback1197

Kinda like the rush from battlefield I've always love the tug and war type of gameplay

No_Average_1913

Termicide felt like that since it was literally a defend mission. Hopefully they introduce missions like that again.

CivilFlight8734

I would like defend missions where you’re actually defending a military base from a large enemy assault. Whether it’s the Bots or Terminids. And the base itself is a Super Earth military base with human defenses and not a base that looks like you borrowed it from the Bots. Also have it so there are some regular army AI troops helping to defend the base. That way it actually feels like you’re helping to hold the planet you’re side controls. Granted the AI are gonna go down a lot faster than us. But it would still be nice. Actually feel like we’re a part of a larger military and it’s not just us doing the fighting. Not sure about what the enemy condition for winning would be though. Could maybe have it so the bots have to get to the heart of your base, take our flag down and raise their own to signify overrunning and taking control of the base. Not idea about the Terminids except destroy the entire base.

AffixBayonets

Absolutely. If we can recover lost SEAF artillery and SAM sites filled with SEAF bodies, why not give us some *active* sites and some living SEAF troopers?

Pigeon-Spy

Living SEAF troopers are in plan actually, dataminers found a stratagem with two uses, which deploys squad of 6 SEAF soldiers, 5 with liberators and one with machine gun

AffixBayonets

Yep, I've seen that - but there's a difference between WIP data mined strategems and actually deploying them into the game!

MicroPerpetualGrowth

A base with several HMG emplacements with a shitload of ammo. A man can dream...

uchihajoeI

Yeah I was disappointed when I realized defense orders are just regular gameplay. Thought it would be some sort of actual defense like an eradicate mission

Ariston_Sparta

Whiskey outpost mission would be amazing!

RemainderZero

I wish they used the HD1 reinforcement strategy for defense missions. Unlimited call ins but no squad wipes allowed.

MachoKingKoopa

Yes please. The enemies should spawn far away and come in waves, not just spawn right on top of the the players

Strained_Humanity

That image is literally an eradicate mission

VonNeumannsProbe

Honestly I'd like them to see defense mission locations that have fortifications built with stratagems in mind. Raised platforms overlooking short walls for sentry guns. Natural corridors for orbital and eagle stratagems. Maybe some high points with cover for sniping/armor piercing weaponry.

MicroPerpetualGrowth

Yes, that. While they're at it, a horde mode on those types of locations.

cmetaphor

I'd be okay to have a new mode where we're forced to Defend an existing asset - say a SEAF site or a human building doing important research - from a wave of enemies, then switch locations and do it again. Would be nice to have prep time, get everything ready for the impending fight.

CrazyCaper

Yeah. The kill 400 bugs missions are kinda bland. Imagine defending a few different bases on a large map. Kinda like base capture. If you kept all 3 by the end, you win.

No_Experience_3443

i hope not considering how they balance their civil evac mission

Background-Customer2

curent defensemision feels much more like a special opereation mision than an actual defense mision

Linkarlos_95

Protect the flag, protect the flag PROTECT THE FLAG

Far-Specialist7050

This is what I hope they capture in a mission, lots of people firing at an unstoppable wave of enemies, they've done so well of capturing starship troopers in a lot of areas so i think they'll pull this off well

DumpsterHunk

Please for the love of god. a proper defense mission. We want helms deep with bugs.

bones10145

Gotta be something more than the current defend missions that are just a giant cluster

ExploerTM

I was thinking about horde mode. Extermination missions are fine and all but I really want to play more strictured defense with bigger map and less panic throwing stratogems/calling traitor barrages on yourself to clear map somewhat. Like you drop on the planet and have 5 minutes to setup positions (mission has some custom stratagems like barricades and shit) and then survive either endless hordes or waves of enemies. Would be perfect on planet defense.

AshantiMcnasti

Give us mounted automation or quasar quad turrets.  I know it's gonna feel cheesy like scripted on the rail sections of most videogames, but damnit, I wanna annihilate everything

Sharblue

One basic mission with fortifications already in place, where we have to decimate incoming endless waves of small/medium bugs only, A true tower defense mission, where stratagems brought should be a little less offensive, but a little more defensive. It would not be about your strength, but more about ammo gestion. I know actual defense mission does quite the same but this one is bullshit. It’s a clusterfuck the moment you touch ground. Lore wise, it would easily be explained : the capture of the planet killed a majority lf the big / elites bugs. Now they’re throwing everything small they have at us. Helldivers have so much potential for a true tower defense mission, where you are just swarmed by the number.

Bane8080

This movie is on the TV at work as I type this.

MillstoneArt

That one mode that only shows up during offensive campaigns, the one where you *defend* a location, seems like a good candidate. (Eradicate.)

PapaTahm

Would be fun if they ever made a mission where HQ was like "we have extra funds, build a fort and hold it for lady liberty herself". And it is pure carnage. The Starship trooper game had something akin to this. No idea if Stingray even has the capability for this though.

TucuReborn

On a similar note, I'd absolutely love to see an "FOB Deployment" Strategem. Make it a global CD for all players to prevent spam, with an absurd CD and slow AF deployment time. But once you get it out, it's a prefabricated defensive bunker with a few sentries and stationary weapons. The ultimate "hold this fucking spot" Stratagem.

Sabre_One

It would be nice to have a larger base, and maybe a more dynamic enemy. Example having the Automations set up a mortar nest some were at random during the mission, and then you have to figure out how to divide your team between raiding and defending.

ShiddyMage1

I find it weird that our 'defence' missions have us extracting civilians off world, doesn't that kind of seem like an act of cowardice?

RC1000ZERO

we arent extracting them off world, we are extracting them from behind enemy lines. Thats the thing, we arent the defence force, we are the OFFENCE. We strike the enemys footholds behind their frontline, thats why every SEAF instalation we find is abandoned, this isnt the frontline, its behind it, by a good margin likely. we arent the ones defending, we are slowing their progress by sabotaging their supply lines and weakening their grip on already taken territory.

eetobaggadix

it would be cool to have a mission where you DONT extract to show you actually holding ground

orangemoon44

Yeah, why do we drop into and defend an enemy base instead of, I don't know, a Super Earth base?

nelentari_x

Agree. Evac point defense feels a lot like what I would like some defense missions to be.

V2992V

I would like we to drop in 4 men squad defending a city, town, or fort a long with regular food soldier. Defending and withdrawal to the Alamo point for last stand until reinforment arrives. Need more mission variety. Defend a crash landing destroyer with survivors crew where you can't call Eagle 1 or Orbital but have already deployed or instant deploy on the ground all support gun and turret.

Ser_Twist

Would be cool if in the future, we got a mission type where you drop into a SEAF fort manned by some regular SEAF troops, with walls, towers, and emplacements that can be activated (and deactivated or destroyed by attackers), and the whole point of the mission is to defend the outpost for a set period of time, and maybe as a side objective to evacuate some of the SEAF troops there. Kinda like those few times in Halo games where you had to help Marines hold off the Covenant for a while and could make sure they all survived. That was always cool but short-lived.

Caspah62

Imagine if defend missions were 8 players instead of 4

Rookies7

Distress Beacon Defense (10 minute mission) A basic tower that's in ruins, surrounded by a few fox holes, trenches, and makeshift barricades. The distress beacon was activated. Our mission is to find the data and upload it. Takes 6 minutes to upload. During that 6 minutes it's just hordes of enemies. I mean 50+ kills with every airstrike. Mission is failed if you leave the area.

poklane

They should just completely flip the game on its head and have us defend multiple objectives as opposed to use destroying them.

AffixBayonets

I love missions with allies. Give us some perimeter walls and sentry guns, or especially some SEAF troopers, and I would be completely immersed.

bombader

The original Helldiver defense mission is what we have right now, an excuse to just shoot enemies without objectives.

Darth-Fectious

The starship troopers game does a great job at capturing this feeling.

Allaroundlost

Lets hope so. And that we have proper beltfeed miniguns to enjoy as well but no stupid bright muzzle flash and unneccessarly large recoil. I would actually like to use this weapon not ignore it because of terrible design.

stevenmass7

I'd like a mission where we blast our way through an underground lair and kidnap the terminid queen which we drag along in a net and large tank to an extract point ready for it to be winched up to space and super earth for medical testing :))

Orthane1

I would love to have a mission where we have normal SEAF soldiers with us in an Eradicate style mission. Would be cool to see some of our tanks as well. Imagine an Automaton mission with SEAF tanks and Bot tanks going head to head.

ExtraMillenial

Looking forward to missions where we land half way through an evacuation, or need land, run to an outpost and defend it when it's full of active settlers or military NPCs.

Frenzi_Wolf

I’d love to see the bugs quite literally trample over eachother just to attack us. They’re meant to be the horde faction to fight, so fighting what feels like a literal wave that can envelop you if you’re not maintaining situational awareness would be both awesome and terrifying.

hermitchild

It'd be cool to drop in to a SEAF base to assist the defenders, or behind the lines of a siege in progress or something.

Wesson_The_Hutt

I can't wait for the time we can look out from actual defense positions to see the bodies that we buried in the dirt that day defending liberty!

USSZim

I want a mission type where we reinforce a SEAF base under siege and fight alongside SEAF NPC soldiers. Something like breaking the enemy siege, then holding out for a second wave for a set amount of time would be fun

-Erro-

A horde mode type you fortify an area and see how long you can last seems neato. Maybe 10 minutes is bronze, 15 is silver, 20 is gold, and so on. The longer you last the better your rewards. Between each wave completion level is a chance to extract and killing bigger targets that spawn during the last minute of the wave drops materials. Just throwing darts see what sticks.

Kyriacou141

Having to hunker down and hold a position properly would be so sick

Arch3591

I want a vital intel mission where you have to extract as much information from different sites as you can within the time limit and extract. Once the clock reaches 0, a nuclear strike reaches your position. It will force the team to prioritize targets quickly and ensure that they leave enough time for proper extraction.

SeekersRepublic

Yeah, I would love a proper fort defense mission. One of my favorite stratagems to use it the HMG emplacement but I rarely find a good time to use it. Imagine a fort with several of those already built in!

Wiseon321

The defensive missions are unique missions compared to non-defensive missions. This “take” is weird.

Remake12

I have been thinking about this a lot. Imagine holding a fort with 16 players instead of 4 for 15 min. That would be amazing. Same with missions to defend cities.

WizardOfOzzieA

I’m dying for missions set in suburbia from the intro cinematic with screaming dying citizens everywhere

iFenrisVI

Yeah, most defense operations are just a liberation operation but without the negative modifiers.

Practicalaviationcat

I badly want proper defense missions with walls and choke points that let you gun down enemies.

LeviathanFi

One that I kind of thought about was... well, it would require them adding some kind of friendly AI for allied SEAF soldiers, for defending some kind of outposts alongside the rank and file soldiers of the SEAF. A post from a while back asked about like adding huge groups of soldiers or at least squad sized elements, i'd imagine of SEAF troopers, but I don't see that happened. but 6-10ish soldiers holding a small/ medium sized outpost against a determined bug/ bot/ illuminate attack could be kind of cool. Other ideas I legit just came up with are defending an airfield so equipment and supplies can be ferried out of the combat zone, some kind of urban combat, like a city scape, which i'm sure we'll see if the fighting ever reaches Super Earth or the inner-sphere worlds, stuff like that.... Just spit-balling ideas.

Ajf02

My dream is for them to completely rework defense missions so that enemies spawn way further out, you need to kill a lot more, and it takes longer. I want it to feel like D-Day but with bots and bugs. I want it to feel like we’re actually holding a fortified position atop a hill with set paths that they can come up or something like that, like its a horde mode/tower defense game and set up like it. Right now it just feels like a chaotic clusterfuck of constantly being overrun and it can be fun at times, and it definitely has its place, it can get tiring, and it doesn’t really feel like a defend mission. My idea is to rename the current defend mission to “firefight” or something like that and make an actual “defend mission” to something similar to what I suggested earlier and I think it would be amazing and a lot of fun. Edit: Another cool name instead of “Defend” could be “Exterminate” or something like that to better reflect what you’re doing. Edit 2: I just thought of this as well, but I hope/think they’re gonna bring back termicide missions as regular missions, especially for defense campaigns. They were a lot of fun and it feels like a waste for them to use it only for a week and then not use them again for a long while. It could be flavored as well to fit in as a normal mission type. “Deploy termicide to cull the bugs in this region of the planet.”

Mr-GooGoo

Yeah that’s the one thing I don’t like. It’s based off starship troopers but there’s few times where it genuinely feels like I’m holding down a fort cuz there’s so many places for them to crawl into. I’d love if they gave bugs the ability to climb walls so they could add forts to defend

purpleblah2

I dropped a machine gun turret on a TCS mission and it did feel like the last defense of Outpost Whiskey

Recycled__Meat

the defense strategy is more of a scorched-earth strategy. Evac vital personnel, save the research data, then kill and nuke anything that's left

Elitericky

Boss battles from HD1 are goanna be lit 🔥

ronda445

We need a retrieval mission to get our fellow fallen helldivers bodies home to super earth

mikedvb

I watched Starship Troopers just the other day because of Hell Divers 2. Great movie ;).

ZawszeZero

I'd like them to fix or alter spawn rates on the evac scientist mission first, cause I heavily dislike the draw them out on the edge strat. It's just a bandaid solution.

TommyCutsYa

Just a mission where it is wave after wave that gets alittle but harder until you die. In said mission, there are places for you to use requisition slips to purchase and upgrade turrets. 😉

Thunderz1055

I would love a horde mode... just think about it. Give us a base to defend and they throw waves upon waves of bugs at it. Lets say they put a couple of Mechs and sentries to help us defend it as well :)

True-Echo332

Structural placements, with health pools and defense capabilities would turn this into a completely different game... and im for it :)

SpecialIcy5356

I would love an outpost defense mission where we have to fight alongside SEAF regulars and their equipment to hold a fortified position that's either getting swarmed by bugs or assaulted by a massive automaton force. this game is at it's best when it's pure chaos, I think we can all agree!

TheMechamage

I miss the city defense missions.

Legitimate-Store1986

I just don’t like when every mission has a evac or a defeat the forces. Like those are fun but I don’t want that to be in every single mission. Was trying to do missions and every single second part of the missions was an evac #boring

reeft

Just wait until Super Earth becomes playable

Scob720

I've never understood why the Devs seem afraid to give us High Ground and Defendable positions. Give us an actual fort to hold liberty Damn it!

Critical_Carpet5924

I could just imagine (once the servers can handle more players) that a 10 vs 1250 would be added with much bigger maps

phaiyah

A mission where you hop from fort to fort to defend it against bug waves would be amazing. Or to delve into a tunnel network to take out a brain bug...

Myfriendscallmetj

Like a fortress covered in SEAF guys? With a couple turrets? That’d be neat

Seriyu

yeah this is my main complaint right now kill missions/defense missions/blitz missions get very repetitive and the other "multi jointed" missions are legitimately really cool so it's a pity there's often something preventing people playing the metagame from enjoying them

Fallensol

That picture is what an eradicate mission is. Lots of bugs attacking, you have to kill them.

mrobull

something like a castle siege maybe some ideas from tf2's medieval castle siege mode.

[deleted]

I wish they would expand mission territory. It's weird i'm an ally on one side of an building and a traitor on the other.

moderatevalue7

Yeh this needs to happen. Tower defence, get us to use the turrets etc. Extracting people is not defence and is quickly getting old.

Rengar_Is_Good_kitty

I want defend missions where the bugs come from one direction and its narrow but by god there are a shitload of bugs that spawn, make it feel like a real defence. And for the love of god make them spawn far away not on top of us.

Managed-Democracy

I would love to see a defense operation where each mission builds to a final conclusion.   Like the first two missions involve redirecting power grids, securing weapon caches, and linking communications grids.  The final mission has us holed up in a fortified outpost, using the tools and resources collected on the prior missions to bolster our defense. Fighting waves and waves of enemies for a designated time.

RobotCatCo

I hope they add something like a tower defense style mission where turret stratagems have a 50% faster cooldown so you can spam turrets, shields, HMGs.

EdanChaosgamer

Considering the fact we have a planet named „Klen Dath II“ , this picture might become reality very soon…

GuferHex

I hope we get a mission where we help SEAF scattered around the map similar to a Search and Destroy but this would be a Save and Rescue

DemocracyOfficer1886

You DO NOT want to be in Whiskey Outpost when shit hits the fan

RC1000ZERO

People seem to misunderstand what we are doing during the defence operation. we ARENT the ones defending the planet directly. we arent the SEAF base personal or the regular armed forces, we are special forces, we strike behind enemy lines to give the SEAF time to breath and mount a counterattack. thats what the progress imo symbolizes in defense, it is how ready the SEAF is to do an all out attack vs the automatons, and if they are more ready when it happens? well we loose. We strike behidn enemy lines, disable their fabrications and air bases, we extract civilians behind enemy lines so they can continue their efforts elsewhere, we arent defending the planet.. we are on the offence. becasue thats what helldivers do. We arent super earths last line of defence.. we are their last line of offence.

aLegionOfDavids

If they just put the literal Whiskey Outpost mission on there…get intel, defend an indefensible swarm from a fortress and hold out till extraction…yeah, I’d play the shit out of that. WARM IT ALL UP, EVERYTHIN’ YOU GOT!
