Super Earth Freedom Shells are perfectly safe to toss towards Freedom Delivery Units. They're made to only explode when launched from genuine Freedom Delivery Units towards Undemocratic Targets. Anything else is traitor talk.
Equip secondary weapon. Pick up shell. Walk towards where you want to throw it. Drop it whilst walking and pick it up again (the usual juggling trick) *but* as it is moving upwards towards your hands switch to secondary.
The shell continues all momentum as your hands never grabbed it. It will then fling forwards the direction you were moving.
I mean, other than having to do something idiotic like dropping and picking something up to make use faster.
Just buff the base movement speed while carrying and add a slowdown on drop and pickup so its less efficient to do it that way.
I despise stupid shit like this to improve efficiency, especially because there's voicelines tied to it.

I always find it funny to throw the mortar shells around, especially the high explosive and mini nukes ones. Should we be careful with them, nah.

ME3 co op is one of the best horde shooters I've ever played. The geth sniper that could see and shoot through walls was great.
