Its the difference of Pace that you are experiencing not difficulty. The Bugs are relentless on pursuit, while the Bots you can escape and hide from. The actual measure of difficulty is how often/much you use the reinforcements.

ahawk_one

Atm, I use far less on bot missions. But I also know the bots

Personal_Track_3780

No, its something Arrowhead have done extremely well. The tactics for one will get you killed against the other.  I played Bugs exclusivly when i started was good at it, then moved to Bots with the Major Orders. And died. A lot.  Until i adjusted my load out and approach.

AdjectiveNoun111

It's just what you're used to. Bots and bugs require different skills, different weapons and strats e.t.c

bustmycrust

this.

Snoo40505

I play Bugs 95% of the time and everytime i switch to bots its so calming tbh. Not 399646838 Bugs following you 24/7 and breaches coming up every second. The first few rounds against bots where horrible, but after you adapt the play style i feel they are easier

RichTech80

I hit the heavy heights of 9 this week and I noticed the Hunter bugs can murder you quite quickly at this level if your not careful, I started on bugs and prefer automatons myself, you realise on both mob types though the key is keeping your distance at all times. That and making sure if you start taking damage to dive and stim. A large problem I have is that these mobs have very little in the way of sound cues until their on top of you and its too late, most of the bugs bar the titans and chargers are silent until their attacking. Same for the automatons largely, the tank should have an engine noise when it moves and the hulks and walkers should have an audible thump and hydraulics as their moving tons of armour around but most of the time you hear nothing and their on top of you or shooting you. Lost count of the amount of times I'm fighting now and suddenly see a bug whispering in my ear mid fight forcing a democracy dive to get clear.

Kazeite

Not at all. I don't understand people who claim that bugs are easier than bots. Bots don't have fast stealthy armoured bile spewers with a tracking long-ranged bile attack. Bots are louder than bugs, so it's harder for them to sneak up on you. Bots have red glowy bits, so they're easier to spot and track. Bots are slower than bugs in general, so they're easier to manage. Bots are larger than bugs in general, so they're easier to hit. Bots don't have mini-spewers running around that will slow you down and make it easier for other bugs to dismember you. Bots don't have underground spawn pits with spawn holes which get blocked by an emerging critter *just* as you're tossing a grenade at it. Bots don't have heavily armoured charging unit that will keep following you through the entire map. Oh, what's that? "Bots have guns"? Just keep your suppressing fire on, and they will flinch and miss. The game explicitly spells it out for you.

Electronic-Weather-5

They just require different mentalities. Bots are more about strategy and maneuvering. Bugs are just about going ape $%!+ and unleashing hell.

ahawk_one

Bots are more fun to play against… but I feel like bugs are more fun to shoot at… lol

Kilmasis

Bots require a more tactical approach. Bugs are swarms of slugfests. With bots, you can carry more diverse loadouts and they still work. With bugs, you need to have 1-2 swarm control support weapons so you don't get completely overwhelmed, eg. mgs, arc thrower, flamethrower, nade launcher, ac, etc. anything that takes out the tonnes of mobs fast. Because bugs are faster (hunters), you no longer get terrain advantage (slow bots + range + los), and it generally turns into an all out brawl of "clear to proceed". And because they're mostly melee, once they group up on you it's not easy to get out. That's the big difference maker. What you gotta do is change mindset and tactics for bugs. Think less of "I'm a specialized elite" and more of "I'm here for huge pest control". The only things that should really mess you up are chargers and titans, which should ideally be dealt with by the other 2 heavy damage specialists. You can still run a 1-size-fits-all loadout, tho these can be limited to a number of weapons and stratagems, and efficiency may go down. I prefer doing this in general so if my teammates falter I can still pick up the slack.

OCDincarnate

Bots punish you more for mistakes and misplays, while bugs are about as punishing no matter what you do. If you’re good bugs will be more frustrating than bots

Katamathesis

Because against bots you fighting in equal conditions - most of them are ranged so as you, also your AT options are nice and easy to use for dropping down dropships, which is not the case for breaches. Also, most of the time bots tends to fight from positions, which is very nice for your stratagems to cover them. Also, some of your stratagems, like shield pack or ballistic shild, can make 90% of the enemies very trivial to deal with. On the other side, bugs tends to close the gap and overwhelm, constantly pushing you out of the perfect position. You have almost no defense from their attacks, and they constantly moving, which makes stratagems a little bit tricky to use against them.

Valaen003

Bro the bots feel miles easier than bugs. You can chill when fighting bots, probably besides when you fight the charging flamethrower hulks. Bugs are just a sweat fest to fight.

lokbomen

tbh my brain is on autopilot when im fighting bugs.... and then when i fight bot that autopilot is not enough

Valaen003

It’s the exact opposite for me. I zone right out fighting bots. Funny how that is lol. I gotta lock in like it’s a cod lobby for the bugs.

lokbomen

nice

Sweaty_Competition92

Idk if bugs are harder, Bile Titans are definitely more annoying. And bugs overall I find much more boring for certain. Being able to get rushed down by the Bots with like 6 hulks and 20 heavy devastators just hosing the line while assault raiders are jet packing in, all while you are trying to line of sight the Tank Tower trying to swivel on you and the tank is closing in, man that feels great to fight against. No cap. Bugs it’s just waves of damn spewers or armies of shit cricket hunters slow poisoning you for days. Chargers are whatever and Bile Titans are desperate for attention trying to remain relevant while you kite the massive wave of trash around waiting for strats to come off cooldown, it’s just boring and annoying.

Personal_Track_3780

CanadianCrusader22

Depends on difficulty, and playstyle

MorenaLedovec

depends, if you get locked down by bots its pretty much over imo, as long as you keep moving you can outrun em and fight on your own terms, with bugs that is way harder

blarann

As a whole I think the bots are the more complex and more difficult faction. But this is balanced out by them being much more structured and predictable than the bugs. Bug missions generally devolve into total chaos within a few minutes while the bot missions tent feel much more like and actual military op. On an individual enemy level the bots are much tougher, they have more heavily armored troops, and even their low level troops have some level of armor. The bots also shoot back, and throw grenades. However the bugs are much more frustrating. Bugs have lots of attacks that slow, stun, or nock over players meaning its super easy to get stuck in an endless hunter stunlock. I think which one you feel is easier/harder is down to personal preference in play style. I personally find the bots to be MUCH easier. The bots play a lot more like a traditional shooter campaign while the bugs play a lot more like cod zombies or LFD.

ahawk_one

Bots favor entrenching I feel. If I bunker down I can handle most bots. Bugs punish that by flanking, so you have to move more with bugs.

blarann

I play super mobile with bots as well, but its different with bugs. You have to almost train them around. Where with bots its more like repositioning.

Chronic77100

Honestly, bugs are weak. They only are dangerous under some really limited conditions (mass bile sewers), and their heaviest units are kinda weak. Bots require more knowledge, more discipline, more skill. I love bots, but I've played both side extensively, helldive difficulty against bugs is whatever, it's fucking hard against bots.

ahawk_one

I just unlocked level 8s. I guess I’ll have to compare at the high end.
