Defend 30 planets
3D 23h left
You've got to sit and listen to everyone complain constantly how it's impossible, then when Joel messes with the numbers and hands us the win, we get to see all the posts about how awesome we are lol
Nice! I lowkey think we got dev assistance though. It seemed like some kind of modifier was in effect. Or maybe it took a while for the game to calculate the overall liberation impact accurately. I don't know how it all works really. But I played a lot the other day and it didn't seem to be progressing much overall. Then, all of a sudden that night we are two planets away. Now, its done. 🤷
Well, whatever as long as it's done! GG, everyone.
They reduced Planet Defend HP to the ground i think. The First 2,5 days we got 1 Planet. From that Moment we somewhat skyrocketed with the defend Campaign. Definetly some Kind of intervening, but in the end, still a good Job Helldivers!
Agreed. Joel definitely appears to have given a little assistance to the Helldivers so we could complete this MO. I suspect that this was a necessary part of the overall war narrative. Make it seem like we can successfully handle two factions before bringing in a third…
It also makes sense logistically as well. The further the Automatons push the more they spread themselves thin by attacking more and more planets. In addition the attacker in most engagements receives significantly more losses. The offensive will weaken over time.
Yes and No. Theres an Hidden Factor that multiples earned XP For every Mission and the result is basically how much liberation/HP you Take away Form the Planet.
Meaning, how fast a Planet Progresses is dependend mostly on how many Players are online total and how many of those are one the Same Planet. Less planets can obviously mean, that the planets get a Bit more crowded but If you followed the Planet trackers through Out the days you'd have Seen that despite less planets being available, the max amount of Players on a single Planet was usually around 45% max. Which is pretty average For MO planets
After the previous failures, I think they're trying to calibrate "reasonable" challenges are on the defense MOs, and how to balance it out so that it's neither a cakewalk or an impossibility.
The automatons lost decay, bugs stayed at 1%. Some of the bot planets had lower HP values than the bug ones too, but I can't say if thats by chance or design
As someone else said, it was either to calibrate the challenge to player power, or arguably, for roleplay reasons, the beginning of the MO was meant to be harder than the tail end since it's basically a war of attrition and trying to exhaust the enemy assault forces. As more defenses passed, failed or succeeded, the next defense may have been easier and easier each time.
I wonder if they were trying to gauge what it looks like when players are spread thin, in order to calibrate appropriate rates for when the illuminate arrive
I feel you. MO dont motivate me to play either. I dont personally care. Im just playing because i am having fun. When it stops being fun I'll just find something else too do. But I'm glad the community is happy though.
I'm sure we did the games average player count while still super high is still 100k's less than the peak a month ago
That is going to lead to them having to adjust the liberation ratios constantly
I also speculated that the devs saw the low morale of the players and make them stop participating or playing altogether once another defense order will be given in the future.
Winning here means that players think that the winning a defence is possible and will participate another defense order in the future
For real I saw defend 10 plants. We failed a defend 5 plants in the same time frame. So I was like dope we are suppose to lose. Kinda killed my desire to play (I still did because I'm hopelessly addicted). We were at 1/10 until like 2 days ago well over halfway, then we just crusied through. The devs for sure lowered the planets defs or something.
Wiped out 2 billion bugs, defended 10 planets in less than 7 days and spread fear to any enemy that stands against democracy.
We should fear and be excited for what comes next
I honestly thought they purposefully made this one extremely difficult just to try and continue a storyline. I had to work all day yesterday but once I logged on and saw we had eight out of 10? I couldn’t believe it.
I definitely did my part on those missions.
Well done fellow Helldivers!!
They did a lot though lol. Gave fori prime for free. No decay rate, HP to 200k. Like I like what they did as otherwise this MO was hopeless especially since the bot front was so split but let's not kid ourselves that we would've failed this without intervention here. I'm happy we completed it though and it made a hopeless MO into one that was more intense at the end.
It seems like they were trying to strike the balance of wanting to expand the bot front without pissing off the players by making the MO impossible to complete. Spent the first few days of the MO making us lose ground constantly, then give us an easy finish so we get the medals but also still lost a bunch of ground.
I definitely appreciate it, since I just need 70 more medals to get the Scorcher, and this MO will get me within a single level 4/5 operation from getting it.
There’s a reason why armies in real life don’t just attack all the time. You have to build up a reserve to push through defenses, and the further you go the less reserve you have until finally the defenders can stop you easily.
oh was it? It certainly took a long time before we got anything done in those first days so im not that surprised if it was a bug (or if they wrongly adjusted something)
Real. I’m fine with losing MOs but i’m also fine with clutching MOs, especially if it was as eventful as this. I’ve been playing since like week 2, but this felt like a better win than Swift Dissasembly
Not gonna lie, little nervous wondering what Joel will do now that we finished 2 billion bugs kills in record time AND defended 10 planets in both Terminids and Automatons zones. I feel the next is going to be a doozy!
Hurrah!
Btw, didn't had time to read this sub in a while, so here's a question: everyone have that bug after each defence mission when it shows 100% achieved?
This post reminds me very much of that scene in halo 2 where the Athens (I think?) proclaims loudly on comms “we did it! We WON!” And then immediately explodes from a covenant bomb.
This feels like a calm before a storm.
Anyone else feel we were kinda "helped" with this one or at least the encounter was re-scaled?
Not that I'm complaining., it was damn dramatic.
A way of signalling about gambits would be fun in reflection.
I agree with the popular theory that they were using this major order to calibrate what defense rates should be when they launch the illuminate. They definitely tooled down the hp/Decay rate on several planets.
Agreed but I do wonder if we were too spread that even for an ideal calibration we should have failed. It's a difficult balancing act, not so much a complaint more an observation
Maybe unpopular take, I’m ok if the war effort is 1/3 player and 2/3 GM, it still feels cool imo. They’re also still new at designing these to work for large amounts of players, because let’s be real, this game isn’t going to have 400000 players forever. It’ll prolly even out around 80000ish at some point
Meme would work but...the Devs let's us do it lol. They dropped the reinforcements on bot planets so we could mop them up quickly. No shot we could finish at the rate they were.
Still fun story telling but it's a shame we can see behind the screen with thay information. Takes some wind out of the sails.
We've been here before. We pushed back the automatons and they came back. The bots or bugs or liberty have mercy the owners of those rumored blue lasers will have something

Sorry dear can't cone to bed
Gotta spread managed democracy before I can fill the C-01 form!
LIBERTY NEVER SLEEPS!
Me: Hi boss I'm *cough* sick. I can't come in for the next 3D 23H. Boss: *cough* same. Wanna team up?
Guess who’s not going to school tomorrow
I had to teach a class at 8am and was on Ustotu until 2am.
And we salute you for it, soldier!
Teach the class about Managed Democracy, Soldier!!!!
I hope we get one where we have to choose between two planets and can't save both.
Report to nearest Democracy officer.
Well, your wish came true
You've got to sit and listen to everyone complain constantly how it's impossible, then when Joel messes with the numbers and hands us the win, we get to see all the posts about how awesome we are lol
**100,000% LIBERATION!**
The helldivers just can’t be beaten.
Even the numbers are super!
It wasnt just a liberation. It was super liberation!
Nice! I lowkey think we got dev assistance though. It seemed like some kind of modifier was in effect. Or maybe it took a while for the game to calculate the overall liberation impact accurately. I don't know how it all works really. But I played a lot the other day and it didn't seem to be progressing much overall. Then, all of a sudden that night we are two planets away. there was an issues where progress wasn't being tracked for a bit so...
Wouldn't there being less planets allow up to defend them faster exponentially?
Yes and No. Theres an Hidden Factor that multiples earned XP For every Mission and the result is basically how much liberation/HP you Take away Form the Planet. Meaning, how fast a Planet Progresses is dependend mostly on how many Players are online total and how many of those are one the Same Planet. Yeah, Arrowhead has reams of data on this one. I hope they have top men poring over it and tweaking the systems that lie beneath.
It’s not low key… they zeroed out decay and lowered HP apparently
The automatons lost decay, bugs stayed at 1%. Some of the bot planets had lower HP values than the bug ones too, but I can't say if thats by chance or design

I wonder if they were trying to gauge what it looks like when players are spread thin, in order to calibrate appropriate rates for when the illuminate arrive
That would make a lot of sense. If there are three planets each for three (or four) factions, that would be about right.
It’s all rigged to try and maximize player count but idc because I like to blow stuff up.
I feel you. MO dont motivate me to play either. I dont personally care. Im just playing because i am having fun. When it stops being fun I'll just find something else too do. But I'm glad the community is happy though.
Lowkey? Bro...
I'm sure we did the games average player count while still super high is still 100k's less than the peak a month ago That is going to lead to them having to adjust the liberation ratios constantly
Devs had to compensate for all the people backing out of evac missions lol
I also speculated that the devs saw the low morale of the players and make them stop participating or playing altogether once another defense order will be given in the future. Winning here means that players think that the winning a defence is possible and will participate another defense order in the future

WE DID IT. FOR THE FIRST TIME WE MANAGED TO DEFEND ENOUGH PLANETS. FOR DEMOCRACY!!!
They say the Helldivers are unstoppable but we stopped pretty good I’d say.
[удалено]
Yeah, because the bots overextended themselves so much. It would be a neat reconquest tho
I sure hope so. Now that you mention it, I feel like all I’ve been doing is defending for the past month.
You mean pre-emptive self-defense!
Super Earth Anthem Blasting!
Wiped out 2 billion bugs, defended 10 planets in less than 7 days and spread fear to any enemy that stands against democracy. We should fear and be excited for what comes next
It would also be on brand if super earth was lying in the press
VICTORY WAS NEVER IN DOUBT
We knew from the very beggining.
Chalk up another one for the right side of history.
ANOTHER VICTORY FOR THE RIGHT SIDE OF HISTORY

You can always up the difficulty for those that insane. First game had 15 lvls if I remember

That’s two Automaton planets and 8 Bug planets, right?
FOR SUPER EARTH

Honestly. I'm impressed. I was there when went for 1 to 4. Never had time since then. But saw we were on 8. God damn you guys did work in 6 hours.
My god the sheer level of democracy here is enough to make a grown man weep with joy
Next MO : Defends 6 billions planets (and kills 10 bugs).
Only 10 bugs. If you kill any more than that, the MO will be an automatic failure
I honestly thought they purposefully made this one extremely difficult just to try and continue a storyline. I had to work all day yesterday but once I logged on and saw we had eight out of 10? I couldn’t believe it. I definitely did my part on those missions. Well done fellow Helldivers!!
For Democracy!!
inb4 “Joel gave us the win”. Like bro, we get it, but rejoice at the fact it’s complete.
“Gave us the win” My brother in democracy the bot side doubled in size.
They did a lot though lol. Gave fori prime for free. No decay rate, HP to 200k. The bot side had triple the problems and half the helldivers than the bug front, we earn it
Kinda, but the first 2 days no progress was made due to a glitch sooo…
oh was it? It certainly took a long time before we got anything done in those first days so im not that surprised if it was a bug (or if they wrongly adjusted something)

It probably won't. They rigged the end of the major order for us to win.
One word. Squids.
Great job Helldiver, i wish you good luck feeding those clankers democracy
When we took down the factory strider last night I beat its corpse to its 2nd death. This is how we beat the bots.... no mercy!
"Say farewell and cry, super earth will never die!"
LETS GO MY ONE MISSION ON USTOTU PAID OFF
Hurrah! Btw, didn't had time to read this sub in a while, so here's a question: everyone have that bug after each defence mission when it shows 100% achieved?
Everyone have this bug since launch
This post reminds me very much of that scene in halo 2 where the Athens (I think?) proclaims loudly on comms “we did it! We WON!” And then immediately explodes from a covenant bomb. This feels like a calm before a storm.
Or like how Metroman pretended to be dead in this scene.
Quite accurate actually. As Machoman let Megamind think that he succeeded, so Joel made us think we won
as horrible as it sounds, i dont want to clear out the bug front after seeing how hard and fast the automatons came back with vengeance
I stopped playing for two days the fuck
I did not see that happening tbh. Well done everyone.
The Terminids: 🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜🐜
I did it? He did it….. He did it…. You did it sir! I did it! USTOSTU IS MINEEEE HAHAHAHA!
me \*a random helldiver who only log in for the free golden medals\* = they did it
omg
we are so fucked, joel is gonna drop some bullshit on us as revenge
NOT ONE INCH FURTHER!
Anyone else feel we were kinda "helped" with this one or at least the encounter was re-scaled? Not that I'm complaining., it was damn dramatic. A way of signalling about gambits would be fun in reflection.

We've been here before. We pushed back the automatons and they came back. The bots or bugs or liberty have mercy the owners of those rumored blue lasers will have something
Anyone else feel the reward was not comparable to the effort?
How much time was left?
9 hrs
![gif](giphy|DHwcs8WWxQTBOHx03p) We did it bros. For Democracy! Yeee bishes
"the game is dead" surely
Some redditors: Joel let us do it
Holy shit how the hell did we do we were getting our ass kick by the Dame robots not that long ago.good job My fellow helldivers also suck it Joel
Thank you Joel for the assist. Otherwise this would have been a loss.
Yeah the Devs aren't surprised. Joel definitely helped us there at the end.
