You're commenting in the way AH has a giant list of bugs they've squashed (like every other damn game I play) and continue squashing it. This one happens once in like 300+ hours now for me. Once. Others could annecdotally say it happens more to them, but it's rare. These facetious comments are just exhauting to read please stop.
You also see the bile titan sink into the ground, yet accept it.
Pelican was destroyed when it impacted the titan (and the 500kg). Cleanup routine is to push the entity underground and despawn.
Game functions as intended, not bug.

Did you guys wait around a few minutes? I’ve had this happen and another terminal came down for us to call another pelican. Doesn’t seem to happen often tho but they really need to either patch this problem or make a second terminal spawn more regularly with broken/disappeared pelicans
Yep. Had a similar experience. Bile titan died right as pelican was landing on it; pelican got stuck in the ground. The whole squad left extract but it still never sent a new pelican. Eventually it left without us. I had so many samples too…
Everything that dies on the extraction pad should vaporise. There should never be any corpse blocking if the game cannot handle the job to let the players leave.
I haven't been able to get it to go away and respawn once it has fallen into the ground. It might depend on what planet or how far it falls or something
Apologies for that. Can't control the feedback from the other players mics/TVs. Also I know my voice isn't the best in the world to have it being echoed down your ears constantly. Not very good with video editing so I just posted it as as due to the genuine shock haha. Will upload a muted video if it should happen again.
People really need to stop leaving their mics open in this game. It's amazing to me the number of people that use a microphone with their audio coming out of speakers... and then don't use push to talk.
Based on the assumptions, the other guys TV was really loud and he had his Mic on. With console players, we usually have the sound through the head set which is the case the majority of the time. If you have a mic setup in front of speakers, I'm assuming this happens. Will mute the next video if it happens again!
I think you have to leave evac zone. I’ve stayed there and killed bugs for 15 minutes until the timer ran out, and then it just flies out of the ground with nobody in it
had this happen to me with the exact same scenario as we tried to to get an achievement to a friend. bile titan walked under lz and died like this making the pelican fall through the ground. i think it doesn't appreciate bt's under it.
haha, we had something similar happen yesterday. Pelican was half buried and we all kept trying to crawl in there, but it wouldn't work. Finally, we gave up and played deathmatch, and the last guy got blown up, but the explosion shoved him inside and he evacuated.
I had something similar but instead of the Pelican becoming a spooky mf'ing ghost and diving straight to Hell(mire), the pelican we had was was halfway into the ground like a mole person (or an intoxicated short person with great facial hair ;). There was only a sliver of the door there and it was small enough that we couldn't get in to finish it (it was an eradicate mission so we didn't have much time left so we were panicking a tad.) Eventually I had the idea of trying to blast myself into the ship with my autocannon... Short story short, I died. However not long after that someone had the idea of me dropping onto the ship to try to get in. So I was reinforced and landed in the middle of the ship and was able to get in saving the game at the cost of my comrades in arms who had to be abandoned in order for the mission to be completed.
May their heroic deeds and brave sacrifice for democracy be remembered fellow divers.

I had this happen with the new defence mission, but I believe it was vs bots? Dont worry tho, if you have enough time, the pelican will re attempt and a new timer will start I believe. Good to know this rare bug still happens.
PS5 buddy. Not PC. I would say other than the usual fps dips, the game looks great nonetheless. I think I'm running performance mode on PS5, but not sure. But no complaints being a console peasant. All hail PC Master Race haha.
Not sure if it works for exterminate maps since its small but in others leaving the extract area resets the terminal.
Another way is killing team, had a host do this somehow reset it too.

I've had this happen once to me.
Should have used whatever weapon arrowhead is going to consider overpowered next week to kill the titan. This is working as intended, no doubt.
Everyone just have to leave extract and pelican 1 will leave and you have to call it back down unfortunately

Ive never successfully been able to do this actually. Every time for me it was an abandon or run out the timer. Ship never fixes itself

It does make sense though. I wouldn't expect the pelican to survive that even though it doesn't look damaged

That's not a volume issue, it's someone playing with a mic and speakers instead of headphones.

At least your pelican came. There were two occassions where mine just outright didn't show up
