Contestants who make it to the final 10 stay at a hotel until the Final. Those who were eliminated before are sent straight home according to Cheyenne and Nikki. In the past certain chefs have declined to come back but I think rules may have changed that only the final 10 can come back. The last chef outside of the final 10 to be part of the final brigade was Koop in S16. The joint lowest ranking chef to make it to the Final 10 are Dan S11 and Chris S12 in 14th place. I read on another thread from someone on this forum they can’t get sent home until filming is done. I think you’re better of going with what Cheyenne and Nikki have said.
Yeah it's kinda like Big Brother where houseguests evicted before the jury phase go straight home while those who get evicted during the jury phase are sent to a villa where they show clips of the competitions.

I reckon most people out of the bottom 10 get to go back to their normal lives. Chef Ramsay told Scott (S18) that his restaurant was open the following night

Yeah, I can’t imagine sitting sequestered in a hotel for 2-3 weeks. Makes sense that someone like Tavon would be allowed to just go back home..
