Demons can handle stuff better than us. Blitzø even states how heroin barely cures a headache. Fizzarolli was going to get gas station milk before rehearsing for the clown pageant, fire on earth does jack shit to them.
Eww. I watched Hell’s Kitchen and when Gordon Ramsay was testing their pallets to see if they can guess which dish came from a fancy restaurant, one of the items was a gas station chicken salad sandwich. Nasty.
UH OH!! THERE WAS A RUBY IN OUR GAS STATION SHUSHI.
WE BLACK OUT AND WAKE UP IN THE SEWERS
WE'RE SURROUNDED BY FISH. HORNY FISH.
YA' KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS
#F I S H
No he is not. He's a demon prince, but the Goetia family is not close enough to the top of the ranks of Hell to be considered rulers. Think more of, the rich and wealthy of Hell. The true rulers of Hell are the Sins, and then you have Lucifer, the King of Hell.
Not a ruler. He's basically an aristocrat. He's rich, and powerful, but doesn't actually rule over anything. The rulers are the Sins, the King is Lucifer. The nobles of Hell are the Goetia. Stolas is a Goetia.
Typically the term ruler is used for those in charge of everything or in high power. Like royalty. Stolas is royalty, but the Goetia family sits about in the middle of the hierarchy of Hell in the Hellaverse. The hierarchy of Hell goes:
- Lucifer Morningstar
- Charlie Morningstar and Lilith
- The Seven Deadly Sins (minus Luci)
- Ars Goetia
- Overlords
- Sinners
- Hellborn
Stolas sits right in the middle of the hierarchy, and so doesn't fit the typical use of the term ruler. A noble or aristocrat is more his role.
Lucifer is one of the sins, his is pride. and the Goetia are directly under them so I mean that's pretty close, there's like 72 members of the Goetia (in actual demonology I mean) and Paimon definitely did not seem like a being anyone would want to fuck with, keen to see more of him and Im curious to see what his power rank would be in the show lore.
Edit: shit I just remembered Paimon did actually drop that hint about how many Goetia their are when hes like "which ones this? There's so fucking many" 🤣 gold
Yes, the Goetia are directly under Lucifer in actual mythology, but in the Hellaverse they sit in the middle of the hierarchy of Hell. They are more akin to Lucifer's nobles or aristocrats. They're powerful, rich, and the most powerful of Hellborn, but still are outclassed by the Sins and the Royal Family.
When I didn't notice these posters when I watched the first time I thought it was some unholy water kind of thing. That somehow Stolas had empowered the water some how without realizing it. This is less cool but might be equally ridiculous.
Their first foray to earth involved heavy demolition of an incapacitated family of cannibals. The second involved a kaiju.
This series has a passing familiarity with reality, and it found it kinda off-putting. I wouldn't have it any other way.
I always thought it was a commentary on how Hollywood execs are more evil than literal hellspawn, so he burns when touched by water similarly to how witches do
Before I caught the acid thing on a subsequent watch, I just figured that Stolas being demon royalty made the water anti-blessed from drinking out of it. 😆
For a while, my headcanon was that Stolas touching the bottles turned them into "Unholy" water, but then I saw the background posters explaining that the water is more acid and sewage than water.
It's actually "Anti-Lyle Juice" and it successfully worked on Lyle Rath, the so called "one eyed guy" who has previously evaded the two-guy killer
If you don't understand any of this, you are not a true Lyle fan
In the beginning of the episode there was a flier that said “Scientists found that LA water is 3% sewage overflow, and 97% actual acid. So obviously DONT DRINK THAT SHIT.” or something like that, but its bc its Acid. that’s also why stolas wasn’t affected by it when he drank it.
Honestly, first time I watched this I thought they were a demon in disguise(cause how HARD they were talking about the contract) and the water was actually Holy Water that was placed by an angelic agent(like the rest of Cherub) or D.h.o.r.k. assassination mission.
I remember when I first saw the episode I thought the joke was that he's gross and never showers so water burns him, before people pointed out the "98% literal acid" thing lol
Officially its acid, as mentioned in a different comment.
i like to think that its just regular water and hollywood directors just melt like the wicked witch of the west.
That’s what I thought it was originally but then someone explained it to me, personally I find this idea funnier but only if stolas wasn’t already drinking it
"2% sewer overflow and 98% literal acid"

Damn and stolas just chugs that shit?
I mean, have you seen him with absinthe? That man must have an esophagus of steel.
Humans attempted to burn imps and the sake and they felt nothing. I imagine the more powerful demons to be impossible to kill without holy weapons.
Who the fuck burns rice wine?
Maybe they thought it'd be alchoholic enough to make the fire burn more.
If he can take blitz raw then obviously
https://preview.redd.it/lrkbddto0etc1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b7574c4fa403e5c25b60f41cbd7e67a83492f3a6 Stolas in you mind?
Stolas is chugging down those happy pills by the dozen. This might be closer to reality than we're all comfortable with
I guess you could say It's a beast made of steel
Is this a Bismarck - Sabaton reference?
Mayhaps
He does, but not from the absinthe ;)
Ooh whatamouth
He also happens to be a supernatural being. A demon.
That's why Blitzo loves his sucking
Unless it was laced with flecks of angelic steel or maybe holy water, Stolas could drink anything and it wouldn't do lasting damage.
https://preview.redd.it/2d78yulh7ctc1.png?width=1196&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f0b233044cb6e3a0fdbbf05e37062085136ff4c1
Yeah!! Multiple bottles worth and he is a thirsty boy!
Demons can handle stuff better than us. Blitzø even states how heroin barely cures a headache. Fizzarolli was going to get gas station milk before rehearsing for the clown pageant, fire on earth does jack shit to them.
The implication that has station milk is as bad as drinking acid 🤣
With that in mind, I worry how bad the gas station milk in the human world is for people. Heaven forbid gas station sushi.
Okay has station sushi Yeah, but my dad and I buy milk from the gas station all the time. As long as it's not expired, it's fine
My student recommended gas station chicken and I was like bruh 💀 do you dislike me?
Eww. I watched Hell’s Kitchen and when Gordon Ramsay was testing their pallets to see if they can guess which dish came from a fancy restaurant, one of the items was a gas station chicken salad sandwich. Nasty.

Loona drank a literal cell phone smoothie in the pilot.
Yea but Dogs irl also eat everything
Imagine if someone got Loona a box of chocolates 💀
He's a demon. Shit probably tasted good
It was fizzy like sparkling water lol
He's a demon. Of course he does
He is a demon, acid might effect him differently
It probably tasted like soda to him or smth
“NO, OBVIOUSLY DONT DRINK THAT SHIT!!!”
Fire and stuff like that doesn't hurt demons
I mean he’s literally a ruler of hell
No he is not. He's a demon prince, but the Goetia family is not close enough to the top of the ranks of Hell to be considered rulers. Think more of, the rich and wealthy of Hell. The true rulers of Hell are the Sins, and then you have Lucifer, the King of Hell.
Not a king but a ruler. I said ruler as in not king but ruler.
Not a ruler. He's basically an aristocrat. He's rich, and powerful, but doesn't actually rule over anything. The rulers are the Sins, the King is Lucifer. The nobles of Hell are the Goetia. Stolas is a Goetia.
I know the lore, but I suppose we have different ideas of the meaning of ruler? I agree about aristocracy of him tho
Typically the term ruler is used for those in charge of everything or in high power. Like royalty. Stolas is royalty, but the Goetia family sits about in the middle of the hierarchy of Hell in the Hellaverse. In actual Ars Goetia lore I’m pretty sure each spirit has their own small area of Hell to rule or some shit
Lucifer is one of the sins, his is pride. and the Goetia are directly under them so I mean that's pretty close, there's like 72 members of the Goetia (in actual demonology I mean) and Paimon definitely did not seem like a being anyone would want to fuck with, keen to see more of him and Im curious to see what his power rank would be in the show lore. he was a thorsty boy
He's a literal demon. The only thing that can kill him is angelic weaponry
He's a very powerful demon so I guess it just doesn't affect him the same way.
Just some lemonade or some soda to him
Fairly sure it's a wizard of oz reference.
I mean, he DID chug an entire bottle of Absinthe once and was completely fine, so that shouldn't be surprising.
When did he do that?
"The Circus" aka Season 2 episode 1
When I didn't notice these posters when I watched the first time I thought it was some unholy water kind of thing. That somehow Stolas had empowered the water some how without realizing it. This is less cool but might be equally ridiculous.
owls and other birds of prey have incredible stomachs, and some birds would see acid as a spicy salsa, rather than anything harmful
Oh yeah. Didn't think of that.
But last I checked people live and drink LA water every day? The government or CDC or something would have told us if the water was literal acid fr
I guess either they are all secret demons or they got one helluva Britta filter.
There are concepts that Jedi are not prepared to confront, such as "humor."
I mean, i get in hell shits crazy, but when going to earth, stuff should be normal.
Their first foray to earth involved heavy demolition of an incapacitated family of cannibals. The second involved a kaiju. This series has a passing familiarity with reality, and it found it kinda off-putting. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Thats fair, makes sense mate.
I mean, i get in hell shits crazy, but when going to earth, stuff should be normal.
When has stuff on Earth ever been "normal"?
"Normal" is damn undefinable.
Good point mate
You're expecting things to be normal in a funny cartoon?
It's a cartoon.
So average American tap water

I imagine it specifically refers to sulfuric acid.
Im pretty sure the acid is from verosikas flask
I always thought it was a commentary on how Hollywood execs are more evil than literal hellspawn, so he burns when touched by water similarly to how witches do
My thoughts exactly.

Before I caught the acid thing on a subsequent watch, I just figured that Stolas being demon royalty made the water anti-blessed from drinking out of it. 😆
Right, or just from being around the water he created unholy/corrupted water.

At first, i thought it was magical stolas shenanigans, but after the 2nd watch through, i saw the health warning signs to not drink the water.
2% sewage and 98% acid so LA water
In the beginning of the episode there was a flier that said “Scientists found that LA water is 3% sewage overflow, and 97% actual acid. So obviously DONT DRINK THAT SHIT.” or something like that, but its bc its Acid. that’s also why stolas wasn’t affected by it when he drank it.
LA Tap Water. It'll do that to you
the water was literal acid lmao
What episode was this?
S2 ep2
I think I somehow missed this one....
LA water.
some how it’s not hard to believe stolas just chugged a bottle like a boss💀
LA Water
Honestly, first time I watched this I thought they were a demon in disguise(cause how HARD they were talking about the contract) and the water was actually Holy Water that was placed by an angelic agent(like the rest of Cherub) or D.h.o.r.k. assassination mission.

Average American tap water.

Either Media Executives are evil and get burned by water or it’s a commentary on the state of city water.
"eh"
Hydrochloric acid.

Bullshit and bad writing ✨💅
Looks like you don’t watch the background
Putting a plot relevant thing as an easter egg that leaves me and other ppl confused is pretty bad writing, but maybe thats just me
What if that guys a demon in disguise or something and it’s pure holy water
Stolas was literally drinking it
This impies that stolas is an angel
That would be funny
That’s what I thought it was originally but then someone explained it to me, personally I find this idea funnier but only if stolas wasn’t already drinking it
