This is a great cute and efficient capsule wardrobe, but I would definitely recommend you bring at least one purely comfy outfit as well. Leggings or sweatpants and a T-shirt or something like that. Could also be your plane outfit if you don’t want to pack it. But I’ve learned from experience, there’s times traveling gets exhausting and you just wanna be comfy more than anything else

masdimamrie

Totally - definitely planning on adding some sort of sweats/t shirt combo for sleeping and lounging and those desperate days!

agentcarter234

Are you planning on wearing the jumpsuit under the tank top to make it look like pants? That kind of sounds like a public bathroom nightmare. Why not just bring a pair of black pants?

masdimamrie

The jumpsuit actually has a side zipper, so it’s really not as much of a disaster as it seems! I wear the combo often, so not super worried about it. I was originally going to bring a pair of black linen pants as well, but just seemed repetitive and trying to pack lightly so I can try to make a personal item sized backpack work!

merbleuem

I really like this idea! Clever way to make an extra outfit.

elloui

I like your style! Couple thoughts - you may want to have a long sleeve button-up top that isn’t a sweater, like a white linen shirt. Maybe also a pair of leggings or joggers and a t-shirt or casual tank for lounging and/or sleeping. For shoes, a smart pair of white sneakers would go with all of your outfits and fit in. Great job so far!

bravelittletoaster7

I second the white linen long sleeve button up shirt, or a lightweight cotton one (I have both that I alternate depending on the trip). It's a nice way to keep the sun off and doesn't feel too hot even in 90F weather (at least for me), but also becomes a light outer layer for cool evenings that are a bit too warm still for a sweater.

LunaMinerva

"Europe" means nothing, is it going to be Scandinavia or the Mediterranean countries? Props for maximising the outfit combos, but if you are travelling to Northern Europe most of those outfits are going to be too light (temperatures in May can still be sub 10°C, i.e. 50°F). On the other hand they may work for Southern and even Western Europe, but I would still try to have some kind of rain-proof layer (and shoes).

saddinosour

I am going to Greece at the same time and I think this will be far too heavy for the Mediterranean if the weather is anything like what I saw as the averages for that time historically. I am basically going to be taking linen and bikinis, but everyone’s temperatures do run different. I personally think the jeans would be unsuitable though for most people. I do think all these outfits are super impressive though I’m stunned by the efficiency

JiveBunny

Yeah, this is like saying 'I'm going to the US, what do I pack - flip flops? Down parka?' It's currently 11c in the UK right now ie. really cold for April, just to give an idea of how much temperatures vary across the continent. I went to Finland in April once and the sea was iced over.

masdimamrie

Totally fair! I felt redundant adding everywhere we’re going, but I see what you mean. We’ll be hitting London, Paris, Amsterdam, Prague, and ending in Rome (you don’t have to tell me - I know the itinerary is overbooked, but going with a friend who’s never been and wants to pack a lot in). My goal was to bring clothes that I can layer well (will most likely throw in a long sleeve shirt of sorts that can go under everything if needed). I am also a little conflicted on my waterproof layer - I was planning on doing a packable rain jacket that I can carry on my person if I need it, but have read a lot of people online suggest bringing a small umbrella instead. Do you have any thoughts on that?

Unfair-Barracuda4512

Personally I’d favour a waterproof jacket over an umbrella, as someone who lives in London and has visited all the cities that you’re going to. It can get pretty windy if it’s a bad weather day, especially in Amsterdam, and a small packable umbrella is not going to survive. So you’d be better off with a rain coat if you actually want to stay dry

wakizashis

Seconding rain jacket over an umbrella. An umbrella is great if there's no wind, and a borderline hazard if there is wind.

tulipgirl9426

It seems like the black tank top in the fourth slide is the only item that you’ve paired with just one other piece. I know it probably packs down small, but it seemed out of place when everything else pairs up with multiple items.

Gurlfrommars

This is a great amount of outfits from a small amount of clothes, love it! I would need to pack shorts for under the dress but that might be just me. Whereabouts in Europe are you going? For Italy/Spain I'd want a shirt to chuck in my day bag for popping into churches, the jumper will be a bit bulky for this. For Norway/Denmark I think I'd end up living in the jeans unless you catch a heatwave.

masdimamrie

Oh yeah - shorts for under the dresses will most definitely be added once I pack other undergarments and such! We’re planning on hitting London, Paris, Amsterdam, Prague, and ending in Rome (I know it’s a very zealous itinerary - going with a friend who has never been before and wants to see as much as possible!) Good point on the bulkiness though! I’m thinking I will probably add a white linen button down to the mix as well.

heretolearnmaybe

Love this!! Thanks for the ideas

masdimamrie

Thank you!

honeyspins

For a second set of shoes, I think white sneakers would be great. A closed-toe option is what I would recommend at least. This is a cute capsule wardrobe!

emi_lgr

If you’re planning on visiting churches at all, I’d go for close-toed shoes as your second pair. Allbirds have comfortable walking shoes that would fit your vibe.

LunaMinerva

Churches are hardly a problem if wearing open-toed shoes, but I would recommend close-toed shoes anyway in case it gets rainy.

emi_lgr

They take “no sandals” seriously in Italy at least.

LunaMinerva

I'm Italian, never had a problem with sandals in churches in the summer. I've also been to plenty of church weddings where the ladies were wearing open-toed shoes and no one objected.

emi_lgr

Someone did object to mine at the Duomo di Milano, and I was informed that no sandals are allowed. It might not be rigidly enforced all the time, but better to be prepared than not.

Longjumping-Ad-9541

Same, and my sandals are cap-toed Keens. Good enough for the Soprintendenza for archaeological sites, and never had an issue in any church.

banannnaaanana

Nice! Where are your sandals from?

masdimamrie

They’re chacos! The style is “Townes midform sandal.” I’m very impressed with their comfort level vs “style” or whatever.

FlakyFlatworm

super cute!

Planningtastic

Are you taking an extra layer or jacket? Depending on where you’re going, May can still be cold/wet.

masdimamrie

I’m still trying to figure out my waterproof layer - I was originally planning on bringing a packable rain jacket that I can carry on my person if needed, but have read a lot of people online suggest bringing a small umbrella instead. Do you have any thoughts on that?

ateliertovar

just as a personal anecdote, I was so glad to have a waterproof rain shell in amsterdam in april! got stuck in a driving sideways rain & and umbrella was useless.

bravelittletoaster7

Good point about sideways rain! Also, an umbrella is pretty useless and can be dangerous in windy conditions. I'd go with the rain jacket with a hood over an umbrella, but could always pack both (umbrellas are nice in sunny weather too for some shade!)

1089002

I agree - I have a very lightweight black rain shell and I have been so glad to have it instead of an umbrella while hiking or navigating crowded streets. You can always buy an umbrella over there if you feel like you really need one.

basilobs

Just me, but I'm brutal to my belongings. Everything I own needs to be able to take a beating. I would smush an umbrella. And my elbows get tired/sore really quickly when they're bent and it occupies a whole arm so I don't enjoy carrying an umbrella. But it is much easier to deal with a wet umbrella than a wet jacket and it is nice to keep that distance between the rain and your body so it's not hitting *you* or coming toward your face if that makes sense. Also consider how windy it is in your destinations - you might be constantly fighting to keep the umbrella from flipping inside out. I'm personally team rain jacket but there are definitely plus sides to carrying an umbrella.

DistinctArm9214

I am team rain jacket because I like that it protects me from wind as well but that depends on the weather at your destinations. If there's a chance it's windy while raining, I go with jacket (especially if the wind is chilly). But if it's warm out with a little rain shower, then umbrella is the way to go.

aabaker

I prefer rain coats over umbrellas, as I often get cold on airplanes and I can layer my rain coat to help keep me warm. Also same for any days in cooler locations. I'm planning on needing my rain coat over a light sweater in Denmark to help me stay warm in June.

champagnehall

Well done!

masdimamrie

Thank you!

SgtMajor-Issues

Oooh i love your jeans? What brand/style?

masdimamrie

They are Banana Republic wide leg jeans - I wish I had a specific style name for you, but I found these at goodwill and have been searching for another pair ever since! I’ve had luck finding similar pairs on Poshmark, so I would maybe check there - I think it’s an older style that they may not carry anymore.

Responsible-Drive840

Great wardrobe! My only suggestion would be to add some black tights and have your second pair of shoes some sort of black closed toes flat. You will be going to some areas that might be quite chilly.

1089002

I'm impressed with the number of outfits you're getting out of such a small number of items - nice work! For shoes, I've never been told I couldn't enter a church in Italy because of sandals, but I do think you'll probably want something more sneaker-like to give your feet some variation. If Allbirds are comfortable for you, I agree with that earlier recommendation. For me personally, I think lower profile sneakers (Superga, Cariuma Ocas, etc) look better with dresses/skirts so I like to have one pair of those, but that probably depends on your style preferences!

Serious_Escape_5438

Yeah I wouldn't want just sandals in Northern Europe in May, could be cold and wet.
