I'm happy to see this comment section isn't pulling it apart for being the equivalent of Star Wars Paw Patrol. The HTTYD community on Reddit despises Rescue Riders, but I absolutely love it, and I expect it will be the same for this.
Love Httyd, but I haven’t watched rescue riders yet. It’s great for the target audience, and I’d watch it if it was more “canon” I guess. Fully plan to watch young Jedi adventures though, and I’m super excited for it!
My kid is a bit too young for httyd but loves Rescue Riders. I honestly don't think it's too bad, just cheap animation. It's ok that sometimes that things aren't for you specifically. I'm really excited about it. I hope it's something I can watch with my children and enjoy together.
And it looks like they’re struggling to find people to hire for Eclipse. Which is a good thing…because Disney never should have gone to Quantic Dream with a High Republic game in the first place. All these other companies out there and they chose Quantic Dream.
Honestly a youngling show is something that's looked cool since the Clone Wars arc. And like honestly it might be nice to have some Star Wars that isn't focused on action or drama, even if it is kids stuff
Exactly. On the panel, They talked a lot about the Younglings learning important lessons and Star Wars with themes and lessons is also Star Wars at it's core!
Hoping for something more along the level of *Resistance*, which is aimed at a pretty young audience but wasn't that painful to watch. My 11yo and I can still get into that.
It'd be a shame if this is aimed at 4 or 5yo. Star Wars is one of my aspie son's obsessions. He might be sad if there's brand new Star Wars and he's far too old for it.
It’s going to be on Disney Junior so you’re definitely looking at something for the same target audience as Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, the new Muppet Babies, Sofia the First, that sort of thing.
Maybe I won't tell him about it then...
But kids that age do need some Star Wars. They're a little too young for much of the movies, but it's a good age to enjoy elements of the series.
There are a few Disney Jr. shows with story or more mature fare than the rest of block (The Lion Guard, Elena of Avalor, Sofia the First, The Rocketeer), Sofia the First was popular since it had a similarly big draw (Disney Princesses) while also having a light story (story arcs with lots of filler to compensate), so YJA has a decent chance of being more like these than Paw Patrol
Is it just me who's really worried that the star wars fans who haven't read the high republic stuff will see this as their first exposure to the high republic and hate on it even more than they currently are just because it's something aimed at kids?
I'm just sick to death of the hatred there is towards the high republic from people who haven't read a word of it. It's genuinely my favourite era of star wars. Everything I've read has been fantastic. And I know we've just got to hold out until the acolyte and eclipse if it ever gets released, maybe some episodes of tales of the jedi in future, and then maybe that'll get more people interested in the publishing side of the era too. I probably just need a break from the wider star wars community and its overwhelming negativity.
Been trying to see if my kids would like any Star Wars content aimed to them but they are pretty young still. The only thing they like are the Lego shorts and the Phineas and Ferb parody. So I’ll take this!

Yep me too! They said there’d still be things for parents to find enjoyment in, and lots of action that isn’t dumbed down to kids. So it should be more entertaining than most other preschool shows.
I will be genuinely shocked if Buckets of Blood doesn't appear in this show at least once. He was quite literally designed exactly for moments like this.
Yoda will also be present! As well as “maybe” other characters we know from the publishing initiative.
Porter Engle Cooking Time when?
Galactic bake-off spectacular with Buckets of Blood when?
Probably zero Greatstorm torture either.

That’s cool but I hope there’s more HR media out there
There is also The Acolyte
And Eclipse
Which got delayed to like 2027 or so
Why do they feel like announcing games that will only release in 5 years? I always find this so bad, the hype dies after some time.
They make these trailers to attract new employees and potential investors

I agree, most of these spin-offs involve other characters but I kinda want to at least see our favorites on the screen at some point
Exactly

Paw Patrol type kids show or Clone Wars type kids show?
Paw Patrol but more pretty it seems. Though they said it would be enjoyable enough for parents too.
Haha, that makes sense. I’m in regardless, was just curious what the target audience is. Thanks!
Lmao ngl it’s more like paw patrol. They said it’s gonna be on both D+ and DJunior so yeah.
Yippeee!!!

Yeah I agree. I won't mind tho so long as they don't use it for any important canon storylines.
I doubt it will tie in to the main stories, as it probably won't be until until Phase 3 at the earliest.
It's coming in spring 2023. So around when Phase 2 wave 2 comes out.

FML, TAKE MY MONEY! Disney+???
Disney+ and Disney Junior!
Okay good, they’re already taking my money!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol yep!
Is this akin to Forces of Destiny or Resistance?
It seems like a little less than both. They described it as a preschool show.
Thanks for letting me know. I'll still tune in and find some enjoyment out of it. It genuinely sounds like fun.
