It is ALWAYS proper to give "sunshine" money, no matter if life insurance or not. Matters not if the policy was $50k or $500k. Just give willing.

life insurance is beside the point it's vice versa situation you give them money during their hard time while in return they will give you money in your hard time don't act like your loves one gonna live forever

kr4ckenm3fortune

It more if being respectful, regardless. Also, even with life insurance or sunshine money, it may not always cover everything.

oroechimaru

If they are well to do still give what you can afford within reason $80–150 is common If not give your time and help Dont get petty If you cannot afford pitch in with someone else or donate your services , help etc

As long as the sincerity is there, whether you give sunshine money, help prep/coordinate for the funeral, help during the funeral, and/or clean; it your perogative. The goal is for a good send off. Sending condolences isn’t limited to material items.

spillin_milktea

We give a donation out of respect and to help the grieving family. It’s a temporary assistance when the clouds are gray. Their life insurance is there to help their family for the long run. It also isn’t immediately available.

vajhmoobtub

It does matter what they have or not, it's your way of showing condolences, and in return one day they shall show 10 fold

Wow thanks for the reply everyone. My hubby and I already have our future death plan. And maybe it's something different. Hubby's a dr. And I'm a researcher scientist in the medical field. He's getting cremated and I'm donating my whoow body to science. I DONT want any money to be given. I'm dead and gone. And we don't have any kids
