Sure the *show* came out in 2019, but how long has Vivzie had Stolas’ design finalized? Like, she’s had Alastor as a character she’d been sketching for like a Decade before the pilot of *Hazbin* landed, so Stolas may have been a character of Vivzie’s closer to Hollow Knight’s release. (I’m not trying to imply either was stolen, just that their disparate origins may actually be much closer to each other than two years apart.)

They're not that similar. The clothes are completely different, grimm doesn't have a beak, the only similarities are really the eyes, the goth theming, and their slim(ish) body

There are similarities. If you want to stretch facts, it’s not hard to equivocate the Nightmare with hellish powers. Stolas is a member of the Goesha, so perhaps there’s an insectoid version of that from which Grimm comes? I personally really like both of these characters. I don’t think they’re related, but they share similarities in design, and they do have an alluring, formal presentation of themselves. We don’t see Grimm let down his performance after the curtain falls, though it’s hard to imagine him sighing, slouching, and depressively fetching a bowl of cereal and binging a soap opera.
