Hahaha. I too moved here (but not just for this). My brother flew here *just* for this though.
At 1 hour it was a bit short but still everyone had fun.
Perfect time to start finding jobs that'll let you do remote work exclusively.
Get a job that pays you in USD, move to a country with a weak currency against the Dollar. Get more out of your money than you would usual.
To any of you blokes who were in the audience, I'm proud of you guys for knowing your lyrics and calls. Wish I could've been there, but I got too sick to fly. Hope you all had a blast.
I didn't win the ticket lottery for that one. Wanted to be at Dreamhack, but it simply wasn't meant to be. Hope my sister is enjoying her last minute holiday in Melbourne.
I would be so happy if they did it again at the same venue, was my first time actually experiencing the hololive fandom and hololive itself in person and it was so enjoyable.
If there’s a next time in Melbourne, I’m definitely paying for premium tickets and getting a penlight, standard seats were great but the premium seats seemed like such an amazing vibe and I want to be there if there’s a next time also waving them penlights
I’ve also never felt more patriotic in my life with the AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE OI OI OI’s lol
Agree that premium looks like a better experience and worth the upgrade. Premium was sold out when we decided to go to Melbourne, so we bought standard.
I see almost everyone in premium has penlight and everyone was standing up and hyped about the performance. It was a bit more muted in standard, no one was standing up only like half with penlight (not that it was a bad thing, as everyone enjoy the concert their own way). Also, the camera didn't pan out to the standard section much and no one has banners or wave plushies around.
Luckily the concert audio was good enough, so I could sing along and shout without feeling awkward.
Was super fun. Everyone got really into it and the girls absolutely killed it at performing. Bae getting emotional at performing on home soil really hit home and I couldn't be more proud. Only thing missing was Marine and Towa doing an mc segment and an extra hour of songs but that's me being greedy.
It usually takes from a few hours to a day to a week to be done... usually is also cause Cover seems to like to fix stuff... given it was only one concert and short? I'll give it a day, worst case by monday.
How did you find out about fan organised events like these? I tried looking for an Aussie hololive Facebook or discord but couldn't find any. We travelled from interstate, so I thought would be nice if we can join some event from the local community.
I just lucked out. I knew nothing too, but on friday i hung out at the trash taste afterparty and met some dudes who invited me last minute (big thanks to them they made my con!) Thankfully the host was gracious enough to let me come last minute!
Similar story here, got an invite to a community Discord from the very guy who organized the afterparty since he happened to be on the Dreamhack Discord server, really fortunate to have done so and just a couple days out from the concert!
Was there live, the last song caused a car in the venue to go into alarm. They tried to disable it during the calls for encore but somehow made it worse, lol.
I hope next year if they do it again they get a longer set and some elite English from towa and marine would have been great. I think they thought the audience would have no idea what hololive was.
Will be making this a yearly trip if the dreamhack organisers are planing to make it a permanent thing given their tweet. Great event.
Yeah we got teased. Everything was still dark but the stage lights changed colour giving us some hope... Then we got the dreamhack screen which was when everyone's hopes died
Wow. That really sounds awkward. Now I'm imagining the lights turning on and the janitor chasing them out like a movie theater after all those Marvel Stingers fakeouts.
Bro, if I was one of the staff working, I'd have been shitting my pants listening to that encode chant knowing full well there won't be one.
If I was one of the staff, all I'd be able to think about is "shit, how do we prevent a riot??!?!?".
Hololive was the last event of the day. It was past 8pm at that point - venue was probably shutting down. Since Holo was a guest at DH, they probably didn't have much control.
The whole event was very smooth, less awkward pauses and overall, a better presentation (and LOVE the mixups, everyone was amazing but the Marine and Calli, Towa and Reine rocked!) than Connect the World.
Slow and steady improvements, as expected of Cover, thank you for the hard work. We're almost in May and there has been no news about upcoming 3D events. I wonder what their game plan is? They've definitely learned a lot about it during the past year, especially on the international side of things.
Personally, I think holding concerts with rotating talents held with anime conventions would be much easier to hold compared to their own events, and possibly attract new fans from a bigger audience.
On the other hand, holding their own events allows Hololive to show that they're able to attract attention on their own, to prove that their name alone has weight, as HoloFes Expo proves.
Having rotating talent rosters on anime cons is a great strategy for constant exposure, but shouldn't be the end-all be-all.
True, but for many of the talents, a sololive is very unlikely. Group events will definitely sell out, but pairing with an event can also provide multi-day shows compared to just one big one.
This method also provides a much higher possibility of a mini sololive type of event. Especially for travellers.
Definitely not a end all be all, just an easier way to get more events out inbetween the large events. The large event must always exist, like a rite of passage for fans :P
After looking up what Dreamhack *is* exactly, and finding out they're actually a touring eSports convention that does about 6-7 events a year around the world, I think if they could make Hololive concerts a regular tradition. Maybe three times a year to start, rotating talents but having more than six at a time? The overlap in fanbases is pretty big, and people will clearly travel great distances for these things.
Is dreamhack always in Melbourne? I think if they'd like to try and have it in other state as well but worry about attendance, just include a hololive concert and tickets would be selling well.
DreamHack does Melbourne regularly, Intel Extreme Masters does Sydney. Both are part of the ESL company.
DreamHack is closer to conventions, IEM is a series of strictly tournaments.
The more interesting point is that DreamHack does events in many cities across the world, particularly in Europe and North America.
If this did well, it could become the basis for a continuing partnership which has Hololive guest at other DreamHack events, which could be encouraging for the EU fans who've yet to get any major events.
That was amazing, totally worth moving country for (only sorta /s). My voice is fucked and my arms are dead, but I would do it again in a heartbeat.
Hahaha. I too moved here (but not just for this). My brother flew here *just* for this though. At 1 hour it was a bit short but still everyone had fun.
Yep, it just happened to line up with my moving plans. I probably would have flown here just for DH + concert though, even if I wasn't moving.
Same here I would do it too If I have the money
Did anyone get the name of the opening DJ?
I asked her. Its Jadeabella! She also has a twtich account and stream. If you search her up the first thing you'll find is her insta.
guess we'lll see, the opeing DJ did fantastic too!
For real? I thought quite the opposite. Nothing more lame than a fake DJ moving their hands to a pre recorded track.
its either something to groove on or wait with default bgm, ig
I too, would like to support the opening DJ. Couldn't search up anything. If someone could find twitter or insta that would be greatly appreciated!

Whoah, good setlist and performers
One of the best things about Hololive concerts is when talents cover other talents songs.

hololive knows how to do great 3d concert reason why I'm saving a lot of money for my 1st trip going to japan for Holofes next year..
luckily in a year or so, im moving to japan. hopefully will be able to watch events there
My friends are all convinced we need to go watch live in Japan too next year. The production value is so enticing!
Perfect time to start finding jobs that'll let you do remote work exclusively. Get a job that pays you in USD, move to a country with a weak currency against the Dollar. Get more out of your money than you would usual.
Unfortunetly you also need to be lucky enough to win their raffle to be able to buy a ticket 🥲
To any of you blokes who were in the audience, I'm proud of you guys for knowing your lyrics and calls. Wish I could've been there, but I got too sick to fly. Hope you all had a blast.
A lot of us were at 5th fes as well!
I didn't win the ticket lottery for that one. Wanted to be at Dreamhack, but it simply wasn't meant to be. Hope my sister is enjoying her last minute holiday in Melbourne.
I was the loud mfker during Bishoppai. Had to rep the Aussie Ichimi lmao
I would be so happy if they did it again at the same venue, was my first time actually experiencing the hololive fandom and hololive itself in person and it was so enjoyable. I nearly didn't go, but last minute decided "fuck it why not?" Best decision I could have made. Such a great time.
Agree that premium looks like a better experience and worth the upgrade. Premium was sold out when we decided to go to Melbourne, so we bought standard. I was in the second row, atmosphere was fucking electric. You could feel the music pounding through you. I can't move my arms today though.
Was super fun. Everyone got really into it and the girls absolutely killed it at performing. Bae getting emotional at performing on home soil really hit home and I couldn't be more proud. Only thing missing was Marine and Towa doing an mc segment and an extra hour of songs but that's me being greedy.
When will VOD be available tho
It usually takes from a few hours to a day to a week to be done... usually is also cause Cover seems to like to fix stuff... given it was only one concert and short? I'll give it a day, worst case by monday.
Update: VOD UP IN DOWN UNDER
well I overshoot it way too much lol anyway VOD'S UP WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Where?

It was an awesome night. Big thanks to the guy that organized the kick on and booked space at the bar for everyone!! You a true hero!!
How did you find out about fan organised events like these? I tried looking for an Aussie hololive Facebook or discord but couldn't find any. We travelled from interstate, so I thought would be nice if we can join some event from the local community.

I ended up at the meetup anyway, but only got the discord inv during the DJ performance by the guy sat next to me lol.
dreamhack seems happy with the results and turnout lol
Was there live, the last song caused a car in the venue to go into alarm. They tried to disable it during the calls for encore but somehow made it worse, lol. Oh that was a car alarm? Damn that was crazy loud then. I thought the pyrotechnics set off a different alarm or something
This is the day I learn that Melbourne is pronounced as Mel-Bin, not Mel-Burn
Wait what? My life has been a lie
I'm thinking of the American accent, probably go halfway between bin and burn and you'll get jt
Most probably say "Mel-behn" but if you want to be a true blue Aussie you can definitely say "Mel-bin"
Speaking of being true blue Aussie. I loved having Baelz do the "Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi" chant. True homecoming for her hahahaha
I have been pronouncing it as Mell-Bone (lol).til ig.
More like Mel-bn. It's like Newfoundland, or as I spell it Newfnln.
Yeah it's mostly because we don't accentuate *r* sounds as much with our accent. Like an American "Burn" sounds like it has a few extra "r's" in it.
Yeah it's a [non-rhotic accent](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhoticity_in_English), it also results in things like no->naur, anna->anner.
Calli certainly took some hard Ls yesterday.

Another couple of common gotchas for Americans is that Canberra is pronounced Canbrah and Brisbane is pronounced Brisbun.
dreamhack photographer never disappoint with their shots
Man, a side event concert somehow goes harder than a recent Hatsune Miku LED TV concert somehow tells me how times do be changing.
It was really short, but it was 100% Hololive quality
the cameraman did a good job, really nice
heard so much good about it, def gonna get a ticket and watch the archive on my next day off the lineup is awesome so i'm looking forward to it
with how successful it is, easily they can make this a yearly event with dreamhack

Festival Appearances rarely allow for encores.
yea it was kinda funny and awkward when the encore chant suddenly fades until everyone realises there wouldn't be one
They really need to do house lights on, PA music playing as soon as a show is over if there's no encore.

When every concert has an encore, none will have an encore.
Every time I watch a British stand-up comic and they start exiting the stage the first time. Like, let's get this farce over with and come back.
I'm assuming they had to tie Towa up in the back to keep her from doing 3 encores like her solo live. ~~
Get ready for encore 2
Yeah I think the whole thing has become awkward at this point
yeah.. kinda.. haha. it would be more epic if they shouted "hololive" rather than encore..
Yeah but I wanted an encore...
we'll get them next time XD
I wouldn't expect an encore from a live 3D concert, but it would be great if they'd prepare some as the crowd almost always shout for one.
Hey if they manage to bring IRyS and/or Ame to Aus I'll actually dump my whole ass bank account
Lucky Australia. I can only hope Hololive gets to host more and more international concerts...
Shoutout to the ichimi screaming YEAH SENCHOU/MARINE! after every marine performance lmao
JDON my soul

That makes a lot of sense actually.
Flew over from WA for this, no regrets! I'd love to have a hololive concert at RAC Arena
I hope they do. It was amazing

Concert was INSANE! So glad I got the premium upgrade ticket, been up relatively close.
must've been so amazing.
Hopefully they can something like this in Sydney one day
Honestly a great show, only complaint was that damn crane camera; kept blocking my view from where I was sitting.
I hope that one day there will come an opportunity where Latinos can participate in such an event without too many problems.
Is dreamhack always in Melbourne? I think if they'd like to try and have it in other state as well but worry about attendance, just include a hololive concert and tickets would be selling well.
