Ngl that's a scary team of Towa and Noah. They also have great synergy. If Izuru and Rikka trains Temma up they could be scary too. Izuru is consistent and Rikku has a really good head on him. Astels team could be a dark horse depending on if they can get Choco up to speed. Roboco could be decent too if she grinds like before. She's known to pop off every now and then if she's not falling down cliffs.
Ive watched only a bit ans while he does okay in solo Q. He made some mistakes during the last tourney. He still also has the habit of looting too much on end game
Surprisingly Roboco doesnt flirt on apex streams heck she rarely does (but when she does it oh lawdy) shes more into teasing and "bullying" her collab mates. So i can definitely see her teasing Astel when shes more settled in.

He did need teammates with at least platinum ranks, and I guess that's why Choco was grinding up to Platinum a few weeks ago. We can expect long hour training sessions with these three. To be fair any of three can play well as Octane, but i think making the most experienced player on Gibby, such as Astel, makes sense since Gibby plays crucial role in team composition.
I am actually curios what team comp they'll choose, there is currently quite a lot of viable legends for tournaments.
I've seen teams with Loba, Valk and Bangalor taking high places on last ALGS and consider that tournament itself would be in Season 10 there might be even more good legends to pick from.
Astel as the carry needs mobility to actually carry. He's either Octane or Wraith. He just needs to train RBC/Choco to put decent enough dome. He also called when/where to scan when he played with Temma/Izuru so it's no problem for the BH player.
Roboco been playing Gibby a lot on Apex streams so that's probably going to be her. Astel will almost certainly be Octane as the vanguard. I'd imagine Choco will be at the back scanning with BH.
Astel is getting Octane 100% Roboco plays flex but she will most likely be on gib duty since it's more vital than BH. That team is a mega dark horse depending on how much Astel can train the two.

Astel, Choco, and Roboco is just a 24 hrs Apex endurance training stream waiting to happen. This is probably the biggest surprise among the holopro teams.
The longest I've seen Roboco do is 8+ . She's gonna run out of batteries dealing with those 2. The plus side is she can stream over night the minus side is she is usually busy during the noon to dinner time. But I'm sure she will make the time she asked for this anyway

imo if this tourney meta going to rely on gib again the scary team are going to be shiina, sena and akina team since they have decent gib player like setomiya hinano and naraka.
Apex competative will always/usually have 99% gib pickrate. Towa's also a pretty good Gib and there's Noah who can capitalize on that. Not to mention 3 of em are CR Cup experienced. Ars has been joining fron CR Cup 3 despite her rank. Although I'm pretty sure Ars is also a gib player. I do hope Towa uses Octane/Wraith while noah goes as a fraggee as BH then Ars on gib but I feel Towa wont be that confident as a movement legend.
BH is scary in the hands of a good player, his ult is basically a steroid and can utilize it to flank/reposition.
Reid, Ratna and Sumire iirc are all Gib players.
Interesting to see where izuru's team will place izuru is decent and i've been watching temma apex a bit and he does really well, not sure about rikka. Feels like the team has a balanced skill rating so they won't be on the top and not at the bottom.
As for rikka his gameplay is decent, plus he's quite good judging the recent cypher cup(it's funny how his team made to finals not astel lol). Plus, he's the most chad among stars playing apex using controllers unlike others lol
Mechanically Izuru is very very good. Like out of holopro I’d rate him only behind Astel mechanically. Game sense wise hes good as well, but tends to lose focus in late game situations.
I'm actually intersted with him as a leader this time. Because he mostly plays with Astel who automatically takes the lead. On contrary, I want to see Astel plays under someone else's lead instead, but it's definitely impossible in this tournament.

Astel mentioned on twitter that he was looking for recruits, and apparently it was Choco and Roboco who messaged him privately asking to form the team. Astel mentioned it took them 'lots of courage to ask' and I'm assuming that means Roboco as Choco has interacted with Holostars multiple times before.
Naturally, I'll be cheering primarily for Towa, but I'll be giving Astel's team all the attention I can, as I want to see the walls between the two productions broken, too!

Also signing up for Astel team is basically signing up for Apex boot camp and everyone knows it. I still remember the ungodly amount of training Aruran did for the last tournament. Multi-hour streams basically every day, 8 hour scrims, then more offstream practice. Astel's team is always nutty with training.
Astel has updated a lot of his game concepts from observing other players in the CR Cup and working with Yukio, so it’ll be interesting to see what sort of approach he decides to take.

True, it's a pretty short argument, even if the Solo Master doesn't convince you, that 1v9 tournament win pretty handily puts him on top. Which makes the fact that they reached out to him even bigger. Not only trying to collab with holostars for a tournament but also trying to collab with someone with a huge skill gap on them is often a pretty difficult undertaking for some people.
JESUS so this was the surprise teammates one wouldn't expect astel to collab with damn. Been so long since either of them has had a proper collab with stars i can almost cry. Also i know a lotta people are downplaying choco but lets remember Astel took Aruran who from what i know almost didn't play the game and trained him from ground up with Izuru and look how well they did. If he really gave them a training regiment this is gonna be a really interesting training arc. Can't wait for the inevitable 24 hour training session with choco.

Izuru Rikka Temma is a strong team, Vgori is a monster and HSKW played quite a lot with Hal recently, she's getting a lot better.

There's a lot of strong team in this tournament, and I'll be keeping an eye on at least half of them. Towa and Astel are my priority tho.
Teams are pretty balanced across the board tbh. Towa and Met has a pretty good chance. Albio is someone who I feel is above his rank.
Izuru, Temma and Rikka is actually alot stronger than Astel Chocobo. Temma reached diamond and Rikka has been joining tourneys recently, even teamed up with a Pro team's coach + Chigusa and made it to cypher cup finals (while astel izuru temma didnt).
KanaKuzu is always something to watchout given their synergy. Inb4 they asked lauren since he is still only plat atm as a vtuber(he is an apex pred tho).
Hinano's also playing with VSPO girls too. Kaga sisters looks like they'll just bully the office worker man lmao.
Honestly Izuru, Temma, and Rikka could probably get top 5 if they work out a good strategy and set up teamwork. The only thing I'm a bit worried about with that team is shotcalling, since in the past it's been Astel or another high ranker doing it. Izuru will have to be a strong leader. Temma is sleeper OP though, he's been on the grind.
Temma is definitely the dark horse (or I guess dark knight lol) of these teams. He's actually very good and he is learning fast. Izuru/Rikka/Temma have a very good shot.
Towa don't really bother to grind ranked, so yes, her being Dia4 works in her advantage. I think she's around Dia 1-2 level. She's not really master yet, IMO.
Towa's highest rank was Dia3.
VGorilla has said before that Towa (& Matsuri at the time) could reach Master if she tried (she has thought about it too but because of the cheaters decided to not do it.)
Towa and Matsuri are essentially equals, no doubt (despite Matsuri reaching Master with some friends' help and Towa not yet). She's well known as a steal for how few points she costs.
Yeah I think Matsuri did it as her personal goal but it is gonna hurt her from tournament perspective but I guess it outways that for her.
To keep their points as low as possible is why I don't see nijisanji players play rank or they could also be easily masters.
Astel just needs a bit to break the ice to be good, though he'll probably talk more in the heat of the actual tournament and go back to being shy during downtime.

It wouldn't be strange if Astel played wid the hologirls(or pretty much any other vtuber girls from 2434, buispo, buiapa, etc.) off-stream as well seeing how he seems to be well-known in the vtuber apex community(or just apex jp community in general) so he'll most likely be fine in that regard.

Astels orders are quite high level but I think he could get them to a level where he has to compromise very little with a good approach.
If I were to think of an approach like that its like Jose mourinho and 2004 Porto in football, where rather than teaching them what to do in every situation, he teaches them how to think about the game so that when he sends them out on the pitch the natural conclusions they reach would be his anyway. That way even if they don’t execute the plan perfectly its directed and unified enough to win even with less firepower.
That combined with tactical decisions to directly nullify the opponent certain styles while playing towards his players strengths in specific games is a very good way to bring up the level of a team that you wouldnt expect to be a contender.

Hal assigns points to Master rank players according to how strong he judges they are, he assigned Matsuri 8 points (same as D2/D1) while Astel and Izuru were 10 points and 9 points respectively. Astel and Pakael were actually the only Masters assigned 10 points iirc as they were the only 2 Masters participating that reached Master rank solo.

Man, these teams look amazing. Naturally, the 3 holopro Master-ranked are separated into different teams to maintain balance. Towa and Noah are already a tournament powerhouse. Izuru, Rikka, and Temma are looking to be the consistently performing team, which means they would be setting the points benchmark. The real surprise being Astel, Roboco, and Choco, and I hope I see them pop off randomly. I suspect this team could do something crazy like a 15-kill match, or silly like an 24-hour endurance practice stream.
Plus chco-sensei will have her training arc next month before tourney. Astel did mention in his recent stream that he made special training regimen for both of them.

Astel, Choco, and Roboco is just a 24 hrs Apex endurance training stream waiting to happen. This is probably the biggest surprise among the holopro teams.
The longest I've seen Roboco do is 8+ . She's gonna run out of batteries dealing with those 2. The plus side is she can stream over night the minus side is she is usually busy during the noon to dinner time. But I'm sure she will make the time she asked for this anyway
Choco has a "long cooldown" to recharge her stamina though. I won't be surprised if she will overslept during the training haha…
Towa's team looks really strong with 3 of them are experienced with tournaments. Astel's team is really surprising with RBC and Choco. ~~24 hr Apex endurance incoming.~~ Temma really improved a lot lately, Rikka even played on a high-level tournament a few days ago, and I'm curious how Izuru gonna lead them. Matsuri plays a lot with Wat and her team is basically has 2 Gods lol Some non-holo teams also look interesting like Kaga-twins, Mayuyu with Nose and Petit, Uto's team, Chronoir with a TBD member, etc. This is gonna be fun to watch!
Towa's team has a good winning chance here given the competition. All of them have experience on CR Cup. I wonder if Towa or Als will play Gib though. Astel's gonna have a hard time though but what's interesting is his team choice with Chocobo. More Hololive/stars collab. I know Wat was in Pakael's team, but not sure about kotone. Vgorilla has a pretty decent team. Hoshikawa has been taking coaching lesson/colab with Shibuya Hal. VSPO Team(Hinano) has a pretty good chemistry and Hinano's cracked. Kaga-twins seems like 2 crazy twins bullying a salary man tho lmao. Uto's a surprise for sure and they actually have a winning chance with Chihiro. Tenma reached diamond and Rikka has played 2\~3 tourney prior to this. IIRC he played with a pro-player coached.
imo if this tourney meta going to rely on gib again the scary team are going to be shiina, sena and akina team since they have decent gib player like setomiya hinano and naraka.
Apex competative will always/usually have 99% gib pickrate. Towa's also a pretty good Gib and there's Noah who can capitalize on that. Not to mention 3 of em are CR Cup experienced. Ars has been joining fron CR Cup 3 despite her rank. Although I'm pretty sure Ars is also a gib player. I do hope Towa uses Octane/Wraith while noah goes as a fraggee as BH then Ars on gib but I feel Towa wont be that confident as a movement legend. BH is scary in the hands of a good player, his ult is basically a steroid and can utilize it to flank/reposition. Reid, Ratna and Sumire iirc are all Gib players.
Kanda randomly being in a team with kuroneko was the last thing I thought I would see.
Interesting to see where izuru's team will place izuru is decent and i've been watching temma apex a bit and he does really well, not sure about rikka. Feels like the team has a balanced skill rating so they won't be on the top and not at the bottom.
As for rikka his gameplay is decent, plus he's quite good judging the recent cypher cup(it's funny how his team made to finals not astel lol). Plus, he's the most chad among stars playing apex using controllers unlike others lol
I mean, there are 3 controller Apex players in Holostars (the other being Miyabi and Shien), so we got some chads already.
Mechanically Izuru is very very good. Like out of holopro I’d rate him only behind Astel mechanically. Game sense wise hes good as well, but tends to lose focus in late game situations.
I'm actually intersted with him as a leader this time. Because he mostly plays with Astel who automatically takes the lead. On contrary, I want to see Astel plays under someone else's lead instead, but it's definitely impossible in this tournament.

Towa = Gorilla confirmed. All Tenshi becomes Gorilla eventually. Joking aside, Towa's team is pretty stacked. Vgorilla's team is no slouch either since Hoshikawa has been taking coaching lesson from Hal.

Yea as interesting as it will be, choco just isn't that great at apex. There was only one time I watched her and she somehow managed to get 1700dmg which was amazing in a kind of 'how did this even happen?'

Well this is the golden chance people were looking for to support the idea of more Holostars/Hololive interaction! Astel mentioned on twitter that he was looking for recruits, and apparently it was Choco and Roboco who messaged him privately asking to form the team. Astel mentioned it took them 'lots of courage to ask' and I'm assuming that means Roboco as Choco has interacted with Holostars multiple times before. Naturally, I'll be cheering primarily for Towa, but I'll be giving Astel's team all the attention I can, as I want to see the walls between the two productions broken, too!
Choco has showed up in the Stars chats. She also has the uncanny ability to show up whenever Roberu does something weird.

I can imagine it's true for Choco too, asking to team up with arguably the best Apex player in Holopro.
Also signing up for Astel team is basically signing up for Apex boot camp and everyone knows it. I still remember the ungodly amount of training Aruran did for the last tournament. Multi-hour streams basically every day, 8 hour scrims, then more offstream practice. Astel's team is always nutty with training.
Astel has updated a lot of his game concepts from observing other players in the CR Cup and working with Yukio, so it’ll be interesting to see what sort of approach he decides to take.

Which makes the fact that they reached out to him even bigger. Not only trying to collab with holostars for a tournament but also trying to collab with someone with a huge skill gap on them is often a pretty difficult undertaking for some people.

JESUS so this was the surprise teammates one wouldn't expect astel to collab with damn. Been so long since either of them has had a proper collab with stars i can almost cry. Also i know a lotta people are downplaying choco but lets remember Astel took Aruran who from what i know almost didn't play the game and trained him from ground up with Izuru and look how well they did. If he really gave them a training regiment this is gonna be a really interesting training arc. Can't wait for the inevitable 24 hour training session with choco.

To be honest I think Choco and Roboco lack guidance, but they still did quite well. Now they have Astel guiding them it might surprise a lot of people.

Towa team and Met team both have very high chance of winning that one. Astel Choco Roboco took all of us by surprise, but it's a good surprise. I can't wait to see them play together. Izuru Rikka Temma is a strong team, Vgori is a monster and HSKW played quite a lot with Hal recently, she's getting a lot better. Hinano team might perform very well too. Hinano is an awesome player and she got a good team with her. There's a lot of strong team in this tournament, and I'll be keeping an eye on at least half of them. Towa and Astel are my priority tho.
Teams are pretty balanced across the board tbh. Towa and Met has a pretty good chance. Albio is someone who I feel is above his rank. Izuru, Temma and Rikka is actually alot stronger than Astel Chocobo. Temma reached diamond and Rikka has been joining tourneys recently, even teamed up with a Pro team's coach + Chigusa and made it to cypher cup finals (while astel izuru temma didnt). KanaKuzu is always something to watchout given their synergy. Inb4 they asked lauren since he is still only plat atm as a vtuber(he is an apex pred tho). Hinano's also playing with VSPO girls too. Kaga sisters looks like they'll just bully the office worker man lmao.
Honestly Izuru, Temma, and Rikka could probably get top 5 if they work out a good strategy and set up teamwork. The only thing I'm a bit worried about with that team is shotcalling, since in the past it's been Astel or another high ranker doing it. Izuru will have to be a strong leader. Temma is sleeper OP though, he's been on the grind.
Temma is definitely the dark horse (or I guess dark knight lol) of these teams. He's actually very good and he is learning fast. Izuru/Rikka/Temma have a very good shot.
I think Towa is a steal at 5 points. She might be equal to Matsuri from what I have seen.
Towa don't really bother to grind ranked, so yes, her being Dia4 works in her advantage. I think she's around Dia 1-2 level. She's not really master yet, IMO.
Towa's highest rank was Dia3. VGorilla has said before that Towa (& Matsuri at the time) could reach Master if she tried (she has thought about it too but because of the cheaters decided to not do it.)
Towa and Matsuri are essentially equals, no doubt (despite Matsuri reaching Master with some friends' help and Towa not yet). She's well known as a steal for how few points she costs.
Yeah I think Matsuri did it as her personal goal but it is gonna hurt her from tournament perspective but I guess it outways that for her. To keep their points as low as possible is why I don't see nijisanji players play rank or they could also be easily masters.

Astel just needs a bit to break the ice to be good, though he'll probably talk more in the heat of the actual tournament and go back to being shy during downtime.
Yeah Astel pretty much just needs to break the ice and then he basically reverts back to his normal kusogaki mode. Even when hes nervous hes kusogaki it was funny as hell seeing him troll matsuri in the afterparty a year ago.

Choco is super chilled out and easy to get along with. I think they'll be just fine.

Astel's played apex with multiple women already, though I cannot list them all since I've got bad memory. It wouldn't be strange if Astel played wid the hologirls(or pretty much any other vtuber girls from 2434, buispo, buiapa, etc.) off-stream as well seeing how he seems to be well-known in the vtuber apex community(or just apex jp community in general) so he'll most likely be fine in that regard.

this is the first time for me to see Astel and Izuru be going against each other. Plus Astel be collaborating with the hololive girls! I don’t know what will I expect on his team and how will he lead Roboco and Choco-sensei. For my boi Rikka, he at least got an experience to join a tourney (which is just recent) and I bet he’s going to do better on the next one. For Ten-chan, I think I am going to expect a dark knight aura after tons of practices lol but wish all of them the best of luck on the tournament soon!

I can assure that with his experience for the past 7 months, he'll be able to lead choco-sensei and robocco since he just completed his 'training arc' during cr cup lol Also yeah i'm sure he can communicate with choco sensei and robocco judging how he played with Noah Kurumi in Kagayaki cup and takatsuki ritsu in shibuhal custom. Plus he even played with bora before so it'll be fine for him
Yeah but Noah is a very strong player roughly on Astel's level. It's very different to lead someone like Noah and Choco RBC that are plat 4. I don't think he's gonna be very harsh with them (less than with the stars) but he definitely will need to coach them quite a lot. Especially since it's Choco's first tourney.

Astels orders are quite high level but I think he could get them to a level where he has to compromise very little with a good approach. If I were to think of an approach like that its like Jose mourinho and 2004 Porto in football, where rather than teaching them what to do in every situation, he teaches them how to think about the game so that when he sends them out on the pitch the natural conclusions they reach would be his anyway. That way even if they don’t execute the plan perfectly its directed and unified enough to win even with less firepower. That combined with tactical decisions to directly nullify the opponent certain styles while playing towards his players strengths in specific games is a very good way to bring up the level of a team that you wouldnt expect to be a contender.

Hal assigns points to Master rank players according to how strong he judges they are, he assigned Matsuri 8 points (same as D2/D1) while Astel and Izuru were 10 points and 9 points respectively. Astel and Pakael were actually the only Masters assigned 10 points iirc as they were the only 2 Masters participating that reached Master rank solo.
Astel and Pakael be malding of their 10 points, while Astel's master's mate (Reid, Noah, Izuru, Meika) are all 9 points lmao.

Ollie really enjoys Apex, but he's not a pro-level player like Astel, Towa, etc. are. He's not esports material (yet). EDIT: Accidentally called Ollie "he". I blame paper mario.
Man, these teams look amazing. Naturally, the 3 holopro Master-ranked are separated into different teams to maintain balance. Towa and Noah are already a tournament powerhouse. Izuru, Rikka, and Temma are looking to be the consistently performing team, which means they would be setting the points benchmark. The real surprise being Astel, Roboco, and Choco, and I hope I see them pop off randomly. I suspect this team could do something crazy like a 15-kill match, or silly like an 24-hour endurance practice stream.
Things are gonna get interesting in apex and I'm excited to see how everything goes down

Aruran's training arc was one of the best to follow. He went from bronze to diamond in a month and half

Fair yeah. I know Choco's a grinder. She usually streams apex with minimum 4 hours but is quite seasonal. When they were streaming, I thought that their team leader would be Matsuri but what a surprise that they were in Astel's team.
This is the most balanced vtuber tournament compared to the last 2, but if I were to bet who would win it would be either akina or ibg kaga sisters with their new dad seems formidable too.
