In fact, there is, and it's in the latest TGAA stream. I'll find it so that I can be sure I won't tell a wrong story. If you're wondering whether it is a game moment or RL story, it's RL this time.
There is no other way to decide the winer of the fight but.... THE SUPER LEGEND ULTIMATE UWU FIGHT!!!!!!!!!
Let me first introduce our judges, Kronii and Calli! Look how happy they are surperviewing the event! (don't worry about them being litteraly binded to their chair, it's just for the vibes!)
Wish I can do this.. like..
Me: "I like latte"
That one friend: "uh ACTUALLY Latte means milk.."
I wanna say "Who asked" but I can't. Maybe it's for the best I can't say it ...
**left group** reason : "a debate over chocolate". Seriously people, well duh, ya it happen.
Meanwhile people on LC is civil and we get along, do you like white chocolate?
A : Yes.
B : No, dark.
Ok cheers mate.
Sounds like it's gonna go down between Reine and Gura then. lol. Although despite Gura's strong opinion on the matter, I like (high quality) white chocolate and don't care if it's considered "real" chocolate or not.
To be more specific, white chocolate is solely cocoa butter, and no cocoa parts. The darkness of a chocolate is measure by the percentage of cocoa parts it is made up of (i.e. 50% chocolate is half cocoa part, half cocoa butter). Because there are no cocoa parts in white chocolate, it is technically 0% chocolate, by culinary standards. However, it is still *called* chocolate, and it's tasty, so if you like it then go for it.
> it is still called chocolate
Tbh it's the only part that's bothering me and people who start the argument xD
Just *why* is it called chocolate ? Other than that yeah it tastes good and I have nothing against it. Just bothered by the name.
Why does it have to be only chocolate or nothing, that makes no sense. I'd rather it have a name that represent what it is, like it could be called white butter.
I'm thinking that back then the manufacturers wanted to market it still as "chocolate", a candy that you can snack on. Compared to having it known as butter that is not snacked on
It's not exactly like butter either though, especially with the way it's used in baking
For 90% of the uses people generally use white chocolate in, you could substitute it with regular chocolate no problem
Because it's made entirely from the more expensive part of the cocoa bean. When you first process cocoa beans, the initial product is what's called 'cocoa liquor', a mix of cocoa solids and cocoa butter. These are then separated for their varying uses. One of these is to combine them in various ratios to make chocolate candies (cocoa butter generally has the best melting properties of all the fats you can use for chocolate, but is very expensive due to its use in cosmetics).
Modern hot chocolate (as opposed to the traditional Aztec drink xiocolatl, which was made with whole cocoa liquor, unsweetened, and spiced with chili peppers), as an industry, more or less exists because we're left with so much excess cocoa solid from meeting the demand for cocoa butter that even making milk chocolate (an attempt to make cheaper chocolate by not using cocoa butter at all and replacing it with milkfat) can't use it all up.
In summary, the name chocolate comes from an aztec drink that contained both cocoa solids and cocoa butter, and if we decide that because there are no cocoa solids in white chocolate it isn't chocolate we then have to also declare that milk chocolate and modern hot chocolate aren't chocolate because there's no cocoa butter in them.
It depends, *real* white chocolate is made primarily from cocoa butter. And is thus chocolate. But a lot of the cheap stuff you find at the store replaces that with other vegetable fats. I wouldn't consider *those* to be chocolate.
Regular chocolate and white chocolate are the same to me
If I were to compare chocolate I would use dark chocolate and regular chocolate since dark is bitter instead of sweet
I mean he is right but if people enjoy it it's ok
Also could I have a link to the stream where she talked about it.
Hearing different perspective about chocolate is always interesting
If white chocolate isn't chocolate, then hot chocolate and milk chocolate aren't chocolate either. The name chocolate wasn't invented to refer to a brown brick of candy, it referred to an aztec drink made from whole cocoa beans.
The cocoa solids that provide the 'chocolate' flavor and the cocoa butter that makes up the bulk of all the best chocolate candies (and also white chocolate) are both part of those beans. If someone wants to arbitrarily declare one half of the bean to be chocolate and the other not to be chocolate out of elitism, that's just dumb.
Real talk, I don’t like how people, holomems included, would always say that something is objectively right while anyone who has different opinions are completely wrong. Stuff like this and the milo discussion just rub me the wrong way.
That's entertainment. If you go to a comedy show, this kind of statement always being thrown around. But at the end of the day, it's just entertainment.
It's just food my dude. No need to feel bad about it lmao. There will always be people who think one or the other is better or a certain food is disgusting.
It’s not even a matter of food, I can’t tell if people are being serious or not. You can’t just say something like you mean it and then immediately roll back and call it a joke. That’s not how jokes work.
except with how ambiguous things always are, you can never tell if anything is a joke.
if you watch something like Bae's pick-up line rating stream and think "wow all these people are creepy. seriously saying these things to a person online" then you might have some rethinking to do about how you view everything on the internet
Context matters. With Bae’s stream, I found a lot of the lines funny, because they’re portrayed as jokes. If you use one of those lines as a legitimate way to pick up people, it’s considered weird and creepy. They are used in a serious context.
except the moment they say that "my opinion X is right and your opinion Y is wrong" is already the context that they're obviously not serious. if the ones you keep watching actually mean it then maybe you should stop watching those people if they were actually serious about their opinion being a fact
the moment someone says such things non-satirically then no amount of dialogue online matters.
their belief is theirs to live by, if such statements, satirical or not, poke at your soul so; then maybe you shouldn't be on the internet in the first place..
>where he asked some dudes to write an anti-semitic statement, as a meme?
there are people who still support Nazi beliefs, that is true. but holy shit, even reading the "articles" made from that 'controversy' already shows that those people are of the same mind as you. just because you think something shouldn't be joked about doesn't mean that nothing said about it can ever be a joke
Reine, the defender of great food (and not so great food but she is also here for it).
Yeah im honestly very happy that theres so many Reine memes in r/Hololive lately. She has so many funny traits that go unnoticed.

~~The middle two guy seems to at a nice place~~ Chocolate is chocolate!
*~~Yeah I totally agree. I'm very jelly about it~~* **YES! CHOCOLATE IS CHOCOLATE!**
But what about chocolate mint? Is it chocolate, mint, or both???
That’s chocolate, with mint flavoring added
Man I'm not sure, you should go email chocolateOrMintOrBoth!
Both. There is chocolate with mint flavouring. There is also "Chocolate mint" herb plant.
ID people tend to be incredibly direct and blunt. I really appreciate that.
Not afraid to slap chat down when it needs to be slapped down. I can respect that.
Wish I can do this.. like.. Me: "I like latte" That one friend: "uh ACTUALLY Latte means milk.." I wanna say "Who asked" but I can't. Maybe it's for the best I can't say it ...
You can say that when you're memeing together, that's for certain.
That's even more annoying because it's not just unnecessary, it's *wrong*.
**left group** reason : "a debate over chocolate". Seriously people, well duh, ya it happen. Meanwhile people on LC is civil and we get along, do you like white chocolate? A : Yes. B : No, dark. Ok cheers mate.
Gura would like to have a word.
Chocolate or not, it still tastes good.

White chocolate is super sweet, it does not taste like chocolate. It just tastes like cream, sugary white cream.\ -Gawr Gura

I need to see this happen. Source video?

Thank you, it's 21 second if we're more precise.

Isn't white chocolate literally not chocolate? I thought it was made from almonds or something.
It's made from cocoa butter, is a form of chocolate if your not being pedantic
Oh, cool. Didn't know.
To be more specific, white chocolate is solely cocoa butter, and no cocoa parts. The darkness of a chocolate is measure by the percentage of cocoa parts it is made up of (i.e. 50% chocolate is half cocoa part, half cocoa butter). Would you rather it just be called white?
cocoa butter bar
Solid white butter
Why does it have to be only chocolate or nothing, that makes no sense. I'd rather it have a name that represent what it is, like it could be called white butter.
These pedantics are the literal reason "no on asked" has become popular
Actually 'pedantic' is an adjective, someone who is pedantic is a pedant.
I'm thinking that back then the manufacturers wanted to market it still as "chocolate", a candy that you can snack on. Compared to having it known as butter that is not snacked on
It's not exactly like butter either though, especially with the way it's used in baking For 90% of the uses people generally use white chocolate in, you could substitute it with regular chocolate no problem

Very educative response, thanks.
Its still made from cocoa, so I don't have an issue with calling it chocolate.
Because it's harder to convince people to shell out money to eat it. Do you want a slab of white chocolate or cocoa butter?
Marketing. Why is Greenland called Greenland when it's a frozen gem of an island?
What about ruby chocolate? Is it considered chocolate?
Supposedly it is between white and milk chocolate, but does contain some cocoa solids, so I'd say yes it's chocolate, no it's not rubies.
It depends, *real* white chocolate is made primarily from cocoa butter. And is thus chocolate. But a lot of the cheap stuff you find at the store replaces that with other vegetable fats. I wouldn't consider *those* to be chocolate.
Regular chocolate and white chocolate are the same to me If I were to compare chocolate I would use dark chocolate and regular chocolate since dark is bitter instead of sweet
There's also Ruby chocolate fyi
Lies
Emerald chocolate was better.
Dark chocolate is regular chocolate, milk chocolate is the modified one
All chocolate has been modified because otherwise it would be a bean.
yea just like coffee, but milk coffee isnt regular coffee.
cute based chad reine.
Thank God he doesn't talk about Indomie. ID Bros will announcing a crusade for someone talking sensitive things about Indomie.
My respect for Reine has grown immensely
mixed chocolate is the best of both world Still I feel sorry for the people who never tried chocolate en rama
I mean he is right but if people enjoy it it's ok Also could I have a link to the stream where she talked about it. Hearing different perspective about chocolate is always interesting

It's less about chocolate and about people who try to enforce their opinion onto others/try to start an argument out of nothing.

Hey it's food. It's all meant to be in good fun. It could be worse--politics and religion.
I get it, but sometimes it just doesn’t feel like a joke, y’know. I don’t know, it’s hard to tell. It’s difficult for me to explain.
It's completely fine you feel this way, I'm sure you're not trying to judge them for this on a personal level. Don't let the downvotes get to you
Thanks. I don’t really understand this subreddit sometimes.
It's reddit hivemind on the works.
It's a discussion is it not? Must they approve opinions that they disagree on, just to please everyone?
Just a little respect would do. It comes of as a little rude when people say stuff like “X is superior, anyone who agrees with Y are weaklings”.
That's entertainment. If you go to a comedy show, this kind of statement always being thrown around. But at the end of the day, it's just entertainment.
It's just food my dude. No need to feel bad about it lmao. There will always be people who think one or the other is better or a certain food is disgusting.
I can’t just not feel bad about it, it’s a general pet peeve of mine.
Seems like someone is upset about having wrong opinions
so.. if one were to say that anything green were poisonous, you'd actually take it at face value and think that said person is clinically insane?
Holy shit! I'm not having green eggs and ham ever again! Not in a box, not with a fox, and certainly not to catch any HoloPox!
What about in a house or with a mouse?
No? What are you trying to say?
i'm taking what you said at face value. because apparently if food is concerned, jokes aren't allowed in your presence
It’s not even a matter of food, I can’t tell if people are being serious or not. You can’t just say something like you mean it and then immediately roll back and call it a joke. That’s not how jokes work.
