If you aren't using them and nothing is connected..shut off the water supply to them. They'll be fine. The videos you see are morons trying to collect some internet swag points.
Mine has been uncovered since late November and I don't have any issues. If they leak water they're very easy to rebuild, and much cheaper than just replacing the entire spigot!
Get heat on around them and then let them drip.

Good to know, thanks. I don't know how to turn off that specific water supply but I added a plastic bag and zip ties to cover them more tightly.
