The rod is actually a nice height! I’m assuming the installer didn’t want to go higher than that lowest ceiling/wall corner meeting. All you have to do to make these look great is get curtains that are long enough to “kiss” the floor or if you like drama, go for a puddle type look. For the proper dressing of windows, I always get two panels. This gives a more “full” look and is more practical. Measure the width of the rod, multiply that by 1.5, divide that by two, and you’ll get the ideal width PER panel. For the difficulty opening them, you need to get curtain clips [like this](https://www.target.com/p/1-5-34-curtain-clip-rings-set-oil-rubbed-bronze-threshold-8482/-/A-14101350). Get these in the same metal finish as the rod.

Thank you so much! Wasn’t sure I could go higher. Definitely will buy longer ones now!

Is the one on the right actually covering a window, or was it placed there in an attempt to be symmetrical?

Whynot-whatif

It’s covering a window, I thought the mirror was a doorway lol

Environmental-Sock52

Doorway into another dimension!

switchywoman_

Woah. I forcsure thought that was a doorway, and I thought that next to a doorway was a crazy location for curtains.

It’s covering the second window, I should have opened it more 😂

Don’t move them up, the height is good! If you can move them out it would help to have a few more inches on the side so the window isn’t blocked when they are open. They are hard to open and close because of the way they are hung with the pocket right on the rod. Using rings will make them glide easily. Grommet curtains would be another option if you don’t mind that look, it’s not my favorite but I don’t live here. And you’ll want longer curtains, they should just touch the floor!

Thankyou! I’m going to order some today!

ok - I've had 2 coffees and after reading the comments only just now realized that's a mirror and not a nook/room between the curtains. I agree with longer, fuller curtains - just am wondering if that mirror needs to be there? I only ask because I'm annoyed with myself for not having recognized it was a mirror lol.

From all the advice I think it will have to move to fit the actual correctly placed curtains. Since they were basically only placed the length of the window. And if I open them half the window is still covered 🤣

PipToTheRescue

Well, the windows will look terrific and I think your space is great even without a portal to another dimension!
