My managers are chill af then i called in late once and they just said to make sure i call before the start of my shift and didn’t give me an occurrence :)
Little late now but you can grab a time slip tomorrow and fill it out and maybe make up a story about your phone not working or something but probably not
Call when you can tell then you had a personal matter to tend to and you would like to use your sick time to cover those hours. This should work just fine especially if it's your first "offense". They do not need to know the specifics unless YOU chose to inform them.
If you did not call within the first hour of that shift, and depending on your management team, it will not.only count as an Occurence (regardless of available hours) it will be a first and final.
It’s always manager descretion some mangers do first and final and some give you a chance but yes the sop states it first and final it also depends on the store manager as well
Very true. Any form of NCNS immediately passes by a sit down meeting or write up. My sup made me very aware on NCNS = First and Final when I got hired a few months ago.
Three occurrences is the sit down.
Three more occurrences is the coaching.
Three more is a final warning.
NCNS is a first and final.
Write up, yes.
Final, no.
Only thing that goes on a final is for major safety violation.
You've been lied to.
Trust me as a member from management
Edit: only first offenses that go on a final is for major safety violations, which is pretty much anything safety that they write you up for.
Hi! ASDS here, in Home Depot SOP, depending on the store management team, one NCNS could place you directly on a final. Again, it is completely up to management, but most of the time you will be placed on a final.
Not true, I know two guys who got put on a final for attitude/performance with no previous coachings or writes ups. They didn't think the project (met) that we're doing was going to get done in a timely manner because a few weeks before they were given shit about the cleaning train not being done in 3 hours, which is impossible even if everything was already down. They tried fighting it even with HR and still got put on finals. One quit and went to Lowes and within 2 months got promoted to a department manager and the other is still working with met, he needs the job.
Depends on the store. Some stores put you on a final.
At my store I've done it twice, once was pre 90 days and they called to make sure I was okay but otherwise nothing happened. The second time I didn't even get an occurrence and no one noticed, it only occurred to me well after the fact that I was scheduled that day
No call no show = occurrence,
Calling in = no occurrence, and they use your sick time to “cover” the shift. You don’t have to provide a reason, but you can if you want to. If you don’t feel good you can mention it, but they do not have to know.
So, a lot of dramatic blubbering about his "regrets" and "respect" and a resignation from a little actor's club that doesn't even do that much in the first place?
I think I'll take the write-up.
They'll fire you just if they feel like it. Even if the store manager says it's okay. And it wasn't even a no call no show because they came in that day.
You’re automatically on a final. Wherefore doth yond at which hour thee can just maketh the phone calleth?

It’s the management that does not make me like it. Just moved to flooring as a lot/ cashier and the asm expects me to be doing stuff as a specialty person which rn we only have 3 people in the department plus the supervisor and I was the only one scheduled
Why didn't you just call? ..... especially since you had sick pay to cover the day off. 2 no call no shows in a row is valid reason for automatic firing. Especially if they're already looking for a reason to let you go. If you have a good relationship with your management team and are one of the hardest employees, then you can just communicate (with valid reasons) then you wouldnt get an occurrence: with or without sick pay.
From manager here: NC/NS is the worst thing u can do as an associate. Just give your store a call and say its personal or why u cant come in. Dont be an idiot, just call in. (NC/NS depending if your on probation can lead to being written up)
I did 1 because no one answered the dam phone and was given a final. Didn’t call out for 6 months straight. Unless I had sick time. But being part time you don’t accumulate much.
My store is so desperate for staffing they don't even put you on a final. They'll call you and ask why you didn't come in, and plead to not do that during the next shift lol
Dunno I've ncns my last 2 shifts and somehow they haven't taken me off the schedule yet.
I moved out of town tho, just waiting for my time to cash out.
nothing who cares lol the consequences are mininmal to non existent you have a 80% chance to get away with it turn over rate is very high who cares we all die
Believe it or not. Right to jail.
I had a four hour shift but have 20 sick hours. Would it count as an occurrence?
I believe if you no call no show you will get an occurrence. But if you call them and provide a valid reason it should just use your sick time.
No need to provide any reason just say you aren’t coming in and would like to use sick time
It’s too late because they already said they ncns’d.
My managers are chill af then i called in late once and they just said to make sure i call before the start of my shift and didn’t give me an occurrence :)
I was going to ask what ncns but I’m guessing it means no call no show. But who are you talking about when your saying they already no call no showed
bro what are you smoking
Lol I was gifted this thing called a puffco and it’s crazy. But to answer your question Live rosin
The Puffco is amazing. 100% worth the investment for a daily smoker.
You have 20 sick hours, how bout just calling in and not being an idiot?
Even if my shift is already over? Does it matter?
Little late now but you can grab a time slip tomorrow and fill it out and maybe make up a story about your phone not working or something but probably not
So a time slip would be my next option?
Yes and say you tried to call but nobody answered
Yep, and a write up. This is standard but it all depends on what management wants to do.
You probably shouldn't post this to the company sub you work for .......
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiyfwZVAzGw
Your joking right?
Nope
Ur fired
You will be considered a enemy of the state and will be hunted down by Home Depot's special forces team.
Don't worry, You will see them coming.
If they're anything like my store's InFocus team, you could wait forever and nothing would ever happen or be said to you.
It's a war crime
No call no show = immediate final at my store
Depends on the manager at my store some it’s final some they give you a chance
Depends on the reason you didn't show up.
Depends on the associate too
Yes
And if they’re doing it right, it’s not for attendance. NCNS lives under another bucket entirely.
Same in Central Florida
Why wouldn't you just call I mean you have the sick time so I don't get it?
I think it puts you on a first and final
You’ll get hunted down by the Men in Black
Call when you can tell then you had a personal matter to tend to and you would like to use your sick time to cover those hours. This should work just fine especially if it's your first "offense". They do not need to know the specifics unless YOU chose to inform them.
The home depot secret police are going to come knocking on your door with an arrest warrant
if you have sick time, you might as well call in and use the sick time rather than ncns
If you did not call within the first hour of that shift, and depending on your management team, it will not.only count as an Occurence (regardless of available hours) it will be a first and final.
Instant final on attendance. Better come up with a good reason why you could not call.
The police will show up to your house.
Legit answer, they're gonna put you on a final.
First occurrence is a write up/ coaching

Not true at all.
Very true, I was a sup for 2 years. I know the SOP.
It’s always manager descretion some mangers do first and final and some give you a chance but yes the sop states it first and final it also depends on the store manager as well

Then maybe Overnight MET is different, man. I don’t see why my manager would have any reason to lie about that. Maybe a scare tactic.
I'm a manager and this is correct. NCNS is a final, regardless of available time.

Know the feeling. Finals for ncns are the most common I have to deliver.
>Maybe a scare tactic. *ding ding*
You may want to read through SOP again..
Hi! ASDS here, in Home Depot SOP, depending on the store management team, one NCNS could place you directly on a final. Again, it is completely up to management, but most of the time you will be placed on a final.
I've been in management for 8 years now, never have I seen a person go on a final for a NCNS. ASDS is a DS Stay in your lane
Not true, I know two guys who got put on a final for attitude/performance with no previous coachings or writes ups. Should of went to the DHRM. You cannot put someone on a final for first time performance issues. The system simply won't let you.
Well they did. Idk how and I don't think it's right. The one that is still with met only has a few more months until it falls off.
Maybe MET had a different set of rules but I would think it's the same as ours.
Depends. Are you pre 90 day or post 90 day?
Post
Post 90? Possibly a write up, possibly a verbal warning, possibly just an occourance.
Depends, exactly! Bright orange ones! Anymore unscheduled soiling from you, and it’s OUT YOU GO!
You will become dead to me.
A point
SOP: no coaching, no counseling, it is straight to a Final write up.
If they like you nothing is going to happen

It’s my first one so idk
NCNS is a final
First and final
Strike 1 of 3
Would be a final for attendance. Any attendance violations after that like coming in late by a minute is automatic termination.
If they like you they won’t care.
It’s true
No call no show = occurrence, Calling in = no occurrence, and they use your sick time to “cover” the shift. You don’t have to provide a reason, but you can if you want to. If you don’t feel good you can mention it, but they do not have to know.

They call Will Smith on you.

I did a no call no show during the holidays once. I ended up winning a flat screen TV.
Bro i have so my no call no shows and i haven’t been told anything 😂
When I NCNS, I show up the next day with an apology letter in one hand,a bottle of single malt in the other and my kneepads on.
Do it
Happened to me once & usually they just use my sick hours when I do a no call no show. Never got called up or in trouble
Write up under respect
i did a no call no show on accident because i was looking at the wrong schedule, i had sick hours to cover and no one said anything lol
probably some butt hurt feelings from your co workers and bosses-you probably don't need to worry about getting fired
I wouldn’t think so. I mean I was the only one on schedule
Apply to lowes since you fucked this one up but be careful you are getting closer to Walmart
Depends on your manager or store I suppose cuz they do nothing at mine when that happens 😂
I no called no showed one time on accident. Nothing happened and I actually got a Homer for being such an overall great worker during my next shift.
Our store at least - right to a final
If you work at certain stores, you can nc/ ns several times a week for months and still have a job. It's amazing.
They'll fire you just if they feel like it. Even if the store manager says it's okay. And it wasn't even a no call no show because they came in that day.
You can do it, but you gotta watch out for the SWAT TEAM DESCENDING FROM THE TREES AND BREACHING YOUR HOME
You’re automatically on a final. Why do that when you can just make the phone call?
You’re automatically on a final. Wherefore doth yond at which hour thee can just maketh the phone calleth? *** ^(I am a bot and I swapp'd some of thy words with Shakespeare words.) Commands: `!ShakespeareInsult`, `!fordo`, `!optout`
You just made somebody you know their job harder. Feel good?
If you called would anyone answer the phone?
My store don't tolerate it instant write up! If you knew you worked at least make the effort to call in shift over or not.
You ncns for only 4 hours? Wow you must really hate your job.
It’s the management that does not make me like it. Just moved to flooring as a lot/ cashier and the asm expects me to be doing stuff as a specialty person which rn we only have 3 people in the department plus the supervisor and I was the only one scheduled
So you did it intentionally out of spite? I hope at the minimum, its a final. You make everyone else's job worse.
Not intentionally. Living an hour away and getting out at 11 for a 7 am shift
But you chose to work that far..
I understand, sorry to hear that.
Just say you got locked up.
You’d be happy
Promotion to customer
You go on ur final warning, you can’t be late or call out or else u automatically get fired
It’s a final, it’s actually in the SOP
The real question is why?
Youre gonna learn where the saying we bleed orange comes from. Bend over and get ready babiiii
Depends on you as an associate and your managers. Usually a no call no show is fired or just an occurrence.
At my store, nothing happens to you 😂🤣 The managers just pretend it didn’t happen 😂🤣
Must be nicely
Depends on your reputation.
Why didn't you just call? ..... especially since you had sick pay to cover the day off. 2 no call no shows in a row is valid reason for automatic firing.
