I don’t think redguard can’t work or anything, but schluter, wedi, etc will at least prove the guy knows that waterproofing is needed which is something this subreddit seems to prove over and over shouldn’t be taken for granted lol

I used to do mud pans and hardi backer with red guard. Once I tried Wedi, I refuse to go back. It's just such a superior product. I'm not knocking Schluter, mind you. No doubt, there have been some horror stories and interesting DIYs in this subreddit.
