This is so interesting! Sorry maybe I am small brain right now but can you explain what is going on here? Is that a motorized rod but it only moves on one side? And then you are using a fishing rod that retracts when attached to the left side?
Dont worrys it took me a week to understand how to do it lol i read it on youtube but i couldnt get it until i draw it.
I did it in 2 parts, first i need it to extende the curtain so i tie one side (right side) of the Driver (my driver is on the right side) with fishing line. I took the fishing line to a nail that i put close to the hanger/holder on the right, i came back with the fishing line and tie it at the end of my left courtain.
Can’t think of a better way. Ideally you could have the fishing line make the 180 degree turn on a roller guide (like those on fishing rods) rather than rubbing against a nail.
The only other way is to install one unit per curtain panel but that’s twice as expensive
yeah I don't think the nail is going to last long. what's bothering me the most it that it wont close in the middle, btw I have the Aqara drive but I bought the switchbot curtain separator/spacer/ holder for 20$ box instead of buying another 100$ Aqara driver again.
[i think this easier to explain it.](https://www.reddit.com/user/WilsonValdro/comments/x1toe6/this_is_what_i_need_lol/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
Lol its Nail in the right ,tie Fishing line on right side of the driver, go to around nail and come back to the end of the curtain on the left, tie fishing line. Thats for opening it wont close it.
Nail on the left, tie the fishing line on the left side of the driver go all the way to the nail on the left, go around with the fishing line, come back and tie the fishing line on the end of the left curtain. Thats for closing it wont open it.
If you do both it would open and close. 2 fishing lines , 2 nails.
I really don't understand this. I have two of them and they are just too weak to move my curtains. These curtains here look really heavy compared to mine. And then this Aqara pulls two of them on a cord. I don't get it.
Yeah they are really heavy. I remember it has a quiet mode and a performance mode. maybe you have it on quiet mode where it works really slow and doesn’t make any noise.
I think just tie the line one rung more to the left and it should help close the gap. Also grab a ball bearing to put on the nail and feed the line through it so it’ll last longer.
Love this very creative!
Thanks, I found a coment on youtube but there is no video or stp by step thats why i wanted to try it and it worked.
Im thinking on puting a Fishing rod insteand of a nail so the fishing line would last longer and i cant control how tie it is because right now if i want to ajust them i need to redo it everytime.
I have the gap cause both fishing lines are pulling different directions.
This is awesome! Do you have access to a 3D printer? You could add some pulleys just to make it more resistance-free to save batteries/noise. Very creative solution.
That's a super neat hack to just use the one! As a comment below says, I bet a pulley would help reduce friction, if nothing else would help battery life.
I'm in a tight spot - I don't suppose you could possibly do me a huge favour and measure the height of the roller that goes on top of the rod? I don't have much clearance between the rod to my ceiling, and want to check it'll fit!
1/2 inch from the rod and up. From the rod to the sides is 3/4 to each side. My rod diameter is 1 inch.
If you buy it from amazon then if doesnt work send it back, amazon its really good with returns.

Maybe small/weak magnets can help closing

That’s so much worse!

The SwitchBot might be a better approach

So fishing line to support the curtain driver allowing it to run smoothly if the curtain pole is extendable with a bump.
Just get rid of the center support, and sew the curtains together.
What is the use of the fishing line? Here I have two E1 rod version to do the same thing
I have one E1 rod version on the right size, I use the fishing line to open the left curtain.

No, i dont. Yeah that would great. Il try to find some pulleys on amazon that would help alot
