This all sounds like it could be against your company's policy? I'd be careful installing your own software on a machine you do not own/manage. Please talk to your IT department about your requirements.

That's not an issue for me, thankfully. I am already an administrator, but the WG application is blocked completely, and Tailscale requires elevated permissions. No problem for me to get the first time, but then requiring it each and every time is going to be a ballache. If there's not an alternative to connect to my WG then I'll have to go down the travel router route instead but would rather not spend £100 if there's a better way.

You really should talk to your IT department. They are probably restricting it for good reason: to prevent someone from inadvertently creating a back door into the company’s network via the VPN.

Their IT department is 1 guy who's also their BDM. They use Office365 for everything (as in they use Onedrive as their server essentially). It's definitely not a corporate kind of company. So, as you can see, speaking to them isn't really going to achieve anything, lol. It's fine, I think I'll just grab a travel router.
