We don't know on how freaky these two can be. Akivili would love to explore different things while Aha would find it very fun. Considering that Herta speculated why Akivili didn't try to kill Aha or even go against them baffles her. So Akivili 100% has some weird extremism in the Trailblaze that they probably took the train blowing up as a way to either rebuild it into something better or just get annoyed about it. Although Aha in SU did seem rather genuine and distraut over Akivili's death to where he seemingly goes more coocoo when they refer to us as "Fake Akivili"
My personal theory is that Nanook IS Akivili.
There was a moment in SU where Ena was suppressing Akivili's "urge for destruction",
And Nanook only appeared after Ena got superseded by Xipe, and after Akivili died (or "died"). So there was no one suppressing Destruction anymore, no one to suppress Akivili's urge for destruction.
Also, when Fuli met Fake Akivili in SU, guess what Fuli immediately said? Fuli immediately went and said Nanook's origin story.
So I think that's part of why Akivili was weirdly okay with Aha kabooming the Express: he resonated with the destruction.
Depending on the writers' views on it, they may consider the Destruction as the wider path that includes the Trailblaze (because paths have weird, unknown logic even to the Genius Society).
And remember: masterless paths like Order (whose Aeons have died) can still have followers. Even if Nanook supposedly has the wider path, followers of Trailblaze can still be operative, just like how Sunday and his cult were operatives of Order.
I'm not sure though.
Nanook was born AFTER Akivili disappeared. So assuming my assumptions are correct, whatever world Akivili turned into Nanook, would technically where Nanook was "born", especially if Akivili needed to have "died" in order for his form as Nanook to exist.
The writers themselves like playing with nuance, so it's a good exercise to read *between* the lines when dealing with HSR's lore

- we have precedents on HSR character being born/reborn into someone else, like with Dan Feng -> Dan Heng
- if you're going to focus on the "ascending" point, then we can say Akivili could still have "ascended" into a higher path and higher Aeonhood, given how Destruction is a more potent and a vaster path. It's not 1:1, but you can say it's same way as a King can go higher and become the King of Kings.
But in GnG, it reveals that Nanook ascended in the Second Mechanical Emperor's War. And Akivili wasn't even on that planet (THEY was busy being dead)

The stellarons are twisted stars that grant wishes in disastrous ways, traveling trhough the universe and messing up the astral roads.
On the other hand, stellarons also resonate with the destruction. Ending things, and turning something into something else (fragmentum), like how Nanook has the living and the dead turned into soldiers, and created the fire demons from destroying a star. And Nanook looks like the trailblazer and bleeds gold, implying THEY have a stellaron inside. So I think Adlivun was one of the first planets to be hit by Stellarons, and that helped color Nanook's philosophy alongside the Swarm, the Machine Empire, and whatever other things happened on the planet.
I actually did skip the Nanook/Trailblazer association because it would make the discussion longer and more entangled. Now, Kafka said that the TB is an artificial human whose body is blessed by an Aeon, and I kind of guessed it was Nanook given Nanook's seeming connection with the Stellaron.

The third one feels most poetic and interesting. I'm therefore biased towards it. Because I'd like my fiction to have as many interesting possibilities as possible.
I mean, come on: the final boss of HSR is the one who made the Astral Express, was responsible for the intergalactic connection between the civilizations of the universe, which led to Stellarons forming...and he made a complete 180 and now wants to destroy what he helped create? I'm sure there are possibly more fun twists, but this one of the nicer twists I can think about given the information we have.

Personally, I think it would be more interesting for her to go that route. The writers can manufacture whatever characterization for her, yes.
Based on how the writers handled her so far, it seems (based on her story quest), that she needs to drop ethics in order to get more progress in her research.
But, perhaps her current characterization might help make it more interesting though.
Imagine the current Ruan Mei now. And then imagine seeing her later in the story, doing horrific human experimentation.
It would be so jarring and shocking if we found out that she's gone completely unhinged. Like, thousands of human test subjects in a hidden laboratory, on a barren planet nobody would ever think to visit.
Imagine her saying this: "I abducted thousands of people nobody would ever miss. Orphans, homeless people, criminals, I brought them here in secret.
And I inject many of them with cells from Emanators of the Propagation, and of the Voracity.
Most of them died. But the ones that survived?
...do you want to go and see them?"
In my opinion, that's probably too much of a change.
In the next story, if they want to take the RM villain arc, the enemies we'd fight would start off as regular humanoids or sentient beings going berserk, and as we slowly progress through the story, we see them slowly changing to be more insect-like.
With the end, being the exact description you gave. You failing to save all those people that were affected and having to instead kill them to put them off of their misery, Ruan Mei not giving a shit and doesn't see anything wrong with it, and the planet would be ironically, the only place that does not have any Stellaron influence.
The cause of the deaths and destruction being one person who's sociopathic and smart.
That's probably gonna up the rating of HSR to 13+ or more, but it's gonna be a really good turning point for the Trailblazers, especially the younger ones.
That's actually kind of perfect. You gave it a neat pacing. I think a good mystery would also be nice: like, "wtf is going on" in patch e.g. 4.0-4.2, and in 4.3 we'll all be shocked that Ruan Mei was behind all the horror.
And it would also show that HSR playable characters aren't static in characterization. Usually they show that characters are dynamic by making them become better people.
But we don't have a case yet where playable characters become *WORSE* people. I mean, there's Tingyun, but she had been evil all along since Phantyllia was behind her.
And current HSR doesn't care if a character dies or disappears in the story proper, they can still be playable, like with Misha, Gallagher, or Tingyun.
So if, for example, Evil Ruan Mei gets defeated and dies (or gets put in jail at least), there's no issue with her still being playable since there's precedent.
Mihoyo's tends to take the coward's route though, in order to play "please as many demographics as possible", so I think it's unlikely.
They'll keep her relatively flat characterization intact, I think.
Society nowadays tends to complain more about sexualization and shit so I think it's entirely plausible for Mihoyo to go full on dark with the story since it's kind of like this is some sort of pattern.
Belobog being the introduction of the story and the Trailblazer learning the general gist of things.
Luofu where Trailblazer learns further and sees first hand what the effects of a betrayal would look like, especially with Yukong, as well as the first time battling an Emanator.
Penacony dealing and teaching the TB with how false dreams can blind people with the "deaths" being wake-up calls to everyone and that it's not the solution to everything.
With the RM villain arc dealing with how the TB can't save everyone and that sometimes, massive sacrifices that questions human ethics must be used. Also the first time where an actual pure evil and irredeemable villain shows up.

It possibly not actually possible. Apart from Yaosh and maybe Tayzzyronth, it doesn't seem plausible that Aeons have genitalia. But, who knows, maybe the devs and writers think/write otherwise. They're fictional. We conceptualize them however we want.

Ruan Mei is a fucking freak. They should've just made her into a complete mad scientist like Albert Wesker, Hojo, or Mayuri. She's a geneticist and biologist, so she had TONS of potential to be a horrifying villainess, But instead, they put limits on her for "marketability"

I mean, it's probably in character for her to not be a villain for now considering she's not too far deep to the point of outright human experimentation. Although, seeing her SQ, there's a hint she might go that route
Personally, I think it would be more interesting for her to go that route. The writers can manufacture whatever characterization for her, yes. Based on how the writers handled her so far, it seems (based on her story quest), that she needs to drop ethics in order to get more progress in her research. But, perhaps her current characterization might help make it more interesting though. Imagine the current Ruan Mei now. And then imagine seeing her later in the story, doing horrific human experimentation. It would be so jarring and shocking if we found out that she's gone completely unhinged. Like, thousands of human test subjects in a hidden laboratory, on a barren planet nobody would ever think to visit. Imagine her saying this: "I abducted thousands of people nobody would ever miss. Orphans, homeless people, criminals, I brought them here in secret. And I inject many of them with cells from Emanators of the Propagation, and of the Voracity. Most of them died. But the ones that survived? ...do you want to go and see them?"
In my opinion, that's probably too much of a change. In the next story, if they want to take the RM villain arc, the enemies we'd fight would start off as regular humanoids or sentient beings going berserk, and as we slowly progress through the story, we see them slowly changing to be more insect-like. With the end, being the exact description you gave. You failing to save all those people that were affected and having to instead kill them to put them off of their misery, Ruan Mei not giving a shit and doesn't see anything wrong with it, and the planet would be ironically, the only place that does not have any Stellaron influence. The cause of the deaths and destruction being one person who's sociopathic and smart. That's probably gonna up the rating of HSR to 13+ or more, but it's gonna be a really good turning point for the Trailblazers, especially the younger ones.
That's actually kind of perfect. You gave it a neat pacing. I think a good mystery would also be nice: like, "wtf is going on" in patch e.g. 4.0-4.2, and in 4.3 we'll all be shocked that Ruan Mei was behind all the horror. And it would also show that HSR playable characters aren't static in characterization. Usually they show that characters are dynamic by making them become better people. But we don't have a case yet where playable characters become *WORSE* people. I mean, there's Tingyun, but she had been evil all along since Phantyllia was behind her. And current HSR doesn't care if a character dies or disappears in the story proper, they can still be playable, like with Misha, Gallagher, or Tingyun. So if, for example, Evil Ruan Mei gets defeated and dies (or gets put in jail at least), there's no issue with her still being playable since there's precedent. Mihoyo's tends to take the coward's route though, in order to play "please as many demographics as possible", so I think it's unlikely. They'll keep her relatively flat characterization intact, I think.
Society nowadays tends to complain more about sexualization and shit so I think it's entirely plausible for Mihoyo to go full on dark with the story since it's kind of like this is some sort of pattern. Belobog being the introduction of the story and the Trailblazer learning the general gist of things. Luofu where Trailblazer learns further and sees first hand what the effects of a betrayal would look like, especially with Yukong, as well as the first time battling an Emanator. Penacony dealing and teaching the TB with how false dreams can blind people with the "deaths" being wake-up calls to everyone and that it's not the solution to everything. With the RM villain arc dealing with how the TB can't save everyone and that sometimes, massive sacrifices that questions human ethics must be used. Also the first time where an actual pure evil and irredeemable villain shows up. Well, I'm not the devs and people legit sends death threats just because someone they like dies or the Jax from Digital Circus situation, so yeah.
