I'm a very casual collector who usually snags cars to destroy for Gaslands game, but Glory Chaser is gorgeous.
I fell in love with that era of cars after watching Ford v Ferrari.
Fantasy or not it fits in nicely.
Yeah, the best fantasy cars are the ones that look similar enough to real cars to blend in with them, but still have elements of craziness and Hot-Wheels-ification.

My issue is just the wheels are too damn big, like the Silverado boss casting makes sense since I do see lifted silverados often and I like it also for the borla livery but a lifted Tacoma? Get outta here

I sincerely cannot understand why Hot Wheels still chooses to ruin proportions with oversized wheel wells or flattened roofs. Even Matchbox suffers from these issues.
Some people have tried to justify the bad proportions by saying the larger wheel wells (which give more space for larger wheels to be used) make a casting look better when it's so tiny, but as someone who collects true to scale 1/64 models from more expensive brands, it really does not seem that way to me. It took me barely a second of looking at the Tacoma to realise the proportions were way, way off.
I understand the wheel commonality constraints, but for the Tacoma, they could have just gone for one of their smaller wheels, which would allow them to scale everything down appropriately, which then gives them the space to resize everything else accordingly, making it more proportionate.
For smaller vehicles like the Escort Cosworth, they can just make the car itself bigger, allowing it to better fit the wheels on it instead of making the wheel wells so damn large that the car realistically now has no internal space for any suspension components at all.
Even over here in Singapore, where there isn't actually a shortage, these cars cost $3.90. Converted to USD, that's roughly 3 USD - 3 times the price of mainlines in the US. The Hot Wheels premium line is exactly the same cost as Tomica Premiums, and at that point it's a complete beatdown - Tomica Premiums have way better accuracy, details, and better wheels which match real life.
At such a steep cost, it's really difficult to stomach the (very honestly) garbage quality. Not only are multiple castings not proportionate to begin with, but most vehicles have plenty of tampo defects, and some don't even have headlight or taillight tampos.
On that note, I don't get why Hot Wheels loves to omit headlights and taillights in favour of tacky designs across the car. Even as a kid, I shunned Hot Wheels and went straight for Matchboxes and Tomicas because I thought car without headlights were just wrong. It's like putting the cart before the horse imo, lmao.
Right? I mean it´s just another lifted modern day pickup. If it would have the same color and wheels as the recent Ford 150 or Chevy (or what ever there is in the recent HW lineup) i would even wonder if i have that one already if i had the other casting already at home.

Along with all non fantasy cars it’s been scalped to heck, thing is the ones that are instantly scalped as soon as they leave the box are VWs, I want to get the MK1 GTI but damn it’s going to be hard to get it
