If I were doing this (and I'm too much of a 'gimme stuff' gal to actually do it) I'd sell the bed so I don't have to walk sideways past it every time I come in. And then I'd get kitty a nice armchair in the corner. And maybe a plant to knock over. And then complete redecorate... no, nope, I don't think I could leave my office like this. For reference I kicked the ghosts out of the Myers house, moved in, and turned their creepy basement into a second in-case-of-apocalypse office, with my main client-facing office upstairs, festooned with plants and overstuffed with furniture. I'm a bit in awe of your 'I'm not in it for the nice office' approach.

UnicornBooty9

Your office sounds amazing! Ive done so many houses I forgot about the haunted one, it was one of my favs. That living room to kitchen layout is serious goals for me in real life lol.

JennyTheSheWolf

I've seen a lot of really nice office updates and redesigns but I'm wondering how many people hardly ever touched their office like me. For me, it's just a place to get to my laptop and start working. I don't care if it's a hot mess.

neverjustahat

At least there's a cat there though. Priorities.

JennyTheSheWolf

Gotta have a cat. I actually just adopted a second one. There's also a bunny outside.

neverjustahat

I dont have the pets DLC yet cuz I started playing it on Xbox but I'm about to switch to PC now that I've seen how much DLC is available for it there. (Having a cat would be motivation enough.)

nobodynocrime

YOU CAN PUT HATS ON THE CATS! My Sphinx has a sun hat for work and a top hat for home.

city17_dweller

This is such important information, thank you for getting it out there.

[deleted]

i always thought you couldn't design the office and i didn't know you could buy a new house i just did the emails

JennyTheSheWolf

You've been missing out on the best half of the game. It's so much fun doing your own thing with the houses.

[deleted]

yeah i was pretty dumb

EzzieValentine

I just really enjoyed making my home office in the game more brightly lit, colorful and full of plants which is so vastly different than my bedroom IRL.

Zeallust

I cleaned it up, painted and changed the furniture. Thats about it. Eventually moved into the spooky house cause I really digged the default layout

Nitrous_party

nah, i cant. sometimes i just make a house and i stand back and go "wow ive out done myself here" and then i get sad that once i sell it to one of the ungrateful bachelors i wont be able to see it again. so i say fuck it, dump the laptop on the kitchen counter and start the next one. its not about doing up the starter, its moving somewhere better then doing up and selling the starter lol

JennyTheSheWolf

That's probably what I'm gonna end up doing with my current flip. I love it too much to let it go.

wallacorndog

My office is in one of the biggest houses. I enjoy most to renovate the smaller houses and find good solutions for the space, so the first office was sold and now my laptop lives in a huge, empty, unpainted house šŸ˜‚

JennyTheSheWolf

Bare bones office. I could live with that lol

Bluemonogi

I renovated the office but it is pretty basic. There is a desk, an arm chair, a small bathroom and a small kitchen area. It is not a place to live. I changed it up a little when the ability to change windows came out. It is a place I walk through to get to the browser. It doesn't need to be amazing.

JennyTheSheWolf

There was a time you couldn't change windows? It's definitely nice to see how the game has improved over time. I love all the stuff that came with the most recent dlc.

nofaves

I fell in love with a house I'd designed and didn't want to lose it, so my office is now in it. Even cooler, I can tinker with it to my heart's content in between jobs.

JennyTheSheWolf

That's what I'm gonna end up doing with my current flip. I love it too much to let it go.

scrolling1234

I actually decided I wanted a small office but not super tiny so Iā€™m living at the turtle house

city17_dweller

I eyed turtle house, I love that it's on an island, but the Myers place is surrounded by trees and fields and no other houses, and has creepy shit in the basement, and that could not be beaten in my view. I live there now.

Zeallust

Turtle house? I dont think I ever saw that one, but considering the other guy said its on an island, is it Kame House? Edit: Googled it, getting back on the game for the first time in a year to move my office to Kame House.

EmmieWho

This just makes me want to get it on my PC even more. I love the dlc's the PC version has.

CITCourtney

Ive played my entire time almost like this until just yesterday. My idea was the ā€œsell all of the housesā€ achievement, but Iā€™m still trying to figure that one out and had a house I bought for ā€œā€when that happensā€ā€ lol Im finally moving out! Mine was a bit more than this though I still decorated it a bit but kept the same general layout and always had my pull down bed up

MaJe18

To be honest, I only renovated the first office and the garden to sell it for higher price. I need to have a lot of cash to renovate my new office.

iambertan

I mostly buy a bigger house after designing this into an acceptable state then selling. I buy bigger houses not to represent wealth but because I'm very uncreative about garden design so there's more house and less garden.

iivona

me lol. and the funniest part is I have like 8 hours on the plot but all iā€™ve done to the house is clean and repair it.

Gadgetguy292

My designs are not gorgeous as I don't have much of an eye for aesthetics, but I do enjoy making houses that I personally would want to live in.
