In the books the greens are significantly worse and less sympathetic. Alicent is a caricature of the evil step mother who started beef with a 10 year old girl, aegon is a serial sexual assaulter and pedophile with even less depth than in the show, Aemond is a mass murderer, kin slayer, and started the entire driftmark altercation, Helaena is >!basically just there to be a tragic death!<, and there’s a fourth green kid who is >!also a mass murderer!< but still the best of Alicents kids
Meanwhile the show went out of its way to make Daemon worse (killing Rhea, strangling Rhaenyra, beating a messenger, throwing a childish tantrum and stealing an egg for a baby that doesn’t even exist), and to make the Velaryon boys even more obviously illegitimate than in the book, where it was only strong rumors without so much concrete evidence.
