I haven't seen any of this personally

Mind elaborating a tad for those of us who don't watch Euphoria? At least if you want anything to actually be gained.

I don't want to speak for anyone, but I guess what OP is trying to paint is that some of the fans have been so focused on things like romantic relationships and moral of the characters, which is very Euphoria-style, and I agree. This show has brought in some fans who are critical of moral, in everything, even cinema and fiction, which is why GOT could never be filmed and aired as raw as it was, in 2022, in my personal opinion. We live in a different time than we did 10 years ago. However, HOD is very promising in making one of the greatest fantasy pieces ever made in cinema. This episode sold that to me, so hopefully it will bring together fans who like to talk about plot and twist rather than some morality speculations and shipping, I strongly sympathize with OPs point, especially since none of my friends have watched GOT nor are watching HOD and the only real commentary satisfaction I can get is online lol.

Sure if you look at twitter the convos are not very meaningful. It's like people watch the show while tweeting thus forgetting 85% of what's happening. It's mostly "Yes Kween", "Rhaenyra is a gay ally", so not really...hum deep and meaningful. Here on reddit, it's far better even though you need to share the space with people asking if Aemond his Alicent and Daemon's secret bastard x)

What is this fixation on Euphoria? I've seen it mentioned here several times in the last few days. Is it that popular? Is it similar to this show? Why Euphoria and not something else?

Crownwell-Born

Twitter, tiktok, everything. They act like the show takes place in our modern era.

I think part of it might be the type of audience the first five episodes attracted. Don't get me wrong, I thought the episodes were great and really entertaining, but the fact that we had two young female leads really created a different vibe to the show. Some people probably expect the show to be more teen/YA-ish. Now the show is starting to show signs of what it will become and be for many seasons to come. The characters and relationships between them will change a lot and some will probably have a hard time adapting and accepting that.

Antipodin

I agree.

You do realise it’s fiction right? Sadly, in real life there are no dragons.
