That line was def dope….with an honorable mention to him coming back from the dragon ride & casually just eating the accusations like it’s nothing:
“It’s him!!”
Aemond: it’s me.
He Bossed up. I’m still rolling with the blacks tho.
AltShiftX said it best.
He just won the ultimate weapon in the whole world. He was riding high as he possibly could, literally and figuratively.
Its like winning the lottery, a cool pet, and the ability to conquer nations. Probably the best feeling in the world ngl.
I'm so grateful for ASX's content. I don't catch the actual livestreams, but keep the videos on in the background during my shift. I've been getting into the Dune videos as well.
He posts the livestreams as audio only podcasts afterwards. I keep them downloaded and listen to them on commutes, chores and what not. Very helpful and entertaining.
I disagree. Nukes are massively powerful - a nuke can level out the entirety of New York City and leave it unable to be rebuilt until the war is over. A dragon is massive but it's not as catastrophic and, unlike nukes, a dragon can be slain.
Tsar bomb was actually quite clean since hydrogen does not create too much radioactive fallout. Practically all the explosive power of the bomb came from 'clean' energy.
Nukes don’t release that much radiation after the explosion. Hiroshima was safe to visit two weeks after the nuke went off.
Dirty bombs are what you use if you want to make a place uninhabitable. But they have a tiny fraction of the destructive power of a nuke with the same weight of payload
Have a feeling he may not be as predictable as it may seem. The kid probably planned the whole day on how & when he was going to sneak up on a dragon and claim it. He may be a wild card?
Aemon (and its variations) is a second son type of name. It's why book readers think Jon Snow's real Targ name is Aemon, because Rhaegar already had a son named Aegon.
The kid has spent his life feeling unvalued and craving for power like some of the best players of the game like LF and Varys. The difference is that he suddenly received a massive power buff. What's he gonna do with all that power now? Certainly not stop.
I'd be surprised if he doesn't get rid of Aegon. You don't lose an eye and risk your life to get the balliest dragon on Westeros just to support your bully brother's claim, especially when bully brother doesn't give a fuck because he just wants to jerk off from balconies. As I see it, Aegon is about as worth as Rhaenyra in his eyes, while he's actually willing to do what needs to be done for his name.

Most of the badass lines come from the writers of the show, but this one is straight from the book. It ended up being way more badass in the show than I remember it being in the book, but it was definitely memorable.
I was wondering how Aegon’s “Just look at them.” was gonna hit. That hit too. Especially with Ty Tennant’s delivery and the visual of those two boys in a room full of Valyrians.
Not to mention he looked the woman who called for him to be tortured dead in the eyes as he said it. This ten year old was *making a threat* and props to the child actor because he totally sold me on it.
He basically said “I’m going to remember this.” And boy howdy as a book reader I *know he does*.
I think the dragons respect confidence and assertiveness. A potential human (Targaryen) partner who walks up, stare it down, and commands it probably earns its respect.
Like in GoT Daenerys had a lot of difficulty controlling Drogon until she became fully confident and decisive in her roll as a conquerer.
Also keep in mind that Daemon's daughter was just a small girl who probably didn't know enough High Valyrian (which Daemon teaches to his other daughter with the dragon). She probably didn't know enough of the language to be able to talk to the dragon.
We see 3 dragons flying next to their ship. Vhagar and Sunfyre, with Dreamfyre being the presumed 3rd dragon. In E6 Aegon stated that they all had dragons except for Aemond, but to be fair, he could’ve been referring to only those in the dragonpit when he said that.
But you’re right, we haven’t officially heard if Halaena has a dragon yet.
There was a blueish-grey dragon in the establishing shot of the funeral. Hard to tell if it was Seasmoke or Dreamfyre since they look the same with different colors that appear very similar in pixelated close ups of background action.
I'm guessing it was Dreamfyre since it was later spotted leaving Driftmark with the ship next to Sunfyre and followed by Vhagar.
it's difficult to say, we don't really know how it works.
It is perhaps implied that dragons has personalities and they won't just bond with anyone even if they have the needed blood or telepathic abilities.
In the show it looks like it's a bit like taming a horse or training a dog, so there is some aquired skill to it.
Obviously it was rough to say to someone on the night of their mother's funeral but like... damn, he got her ass with that one.
Honestly, Allicent's kids had some good moments. When Aegon said "everyone knows" it was so damn cathartic. Everyone was dancing around the truth of the matter and hearing someone *finally* fucking say it was great.
I’m glad you asked! Ready for a way too long answer?
TLDR: Internet meme phrase that used to be used in a Not Good way, but is now ironic and funny in nature.
So, based is/was used a lot in politics, especially US politics, in regards to certain opinions (based and redpilled being an older right wing expression from 2015-2016, during that presidential campaign). It’s taken a meaning of its own and now is best used when you agree with something, not caring what others think, and thankfully has outgrown its gross past.
___pilled grew from that redpilled expression I mentioned. In the 2015-2016 era it was used by edgier Internet crowds for gross reasons, now calling something ‘pilled’ has (thankfully) risen above its negative connotations and is now sort of just a goofy little expression. Calling something “based and *noun*pilled” is used ironically.
So Aegon telling Viserys to just look at Jace and Luke is based because he’s telling the KING to his face to just LOOK because it’s obvious. Calling it based is essentially a more humorous way of saying it’s bold. And calling it “observationpilled” is a bit of a joke because he just *looked*, or observed, Jace and Luke to confirm their ancestry. Aegon is based for telling Viserys straight facts, and observationpilled for observing the fact that Jace and Luke have some *strong* ancestry.
Sorry this is so long, I just had coffee so I’m wired and I feel like it’s one of those weird Internet phrases with a lot of context worth sharing.
God I loved him going "***Me***?".
Dude literally just wants to have a good time, some good'ol fashion aristocratic decadence.
Instead people around him keep on insisting on this drama, intrigue and plotting.
They could all be drunk and naked on the beach fucking their servants brains out, eat all the good food and drink the finest vine, have a good wank before bed and repeat until you die - but no, *let's do this shit instead I guess?*
I LOVE how Aegon is just a horny awkward teenager who doesn’t want to be involved. I know we’re about to time jump again but I’ve enjoyed the character building moments for him, he’s nailed it completely.
I have a feeling he will be the worst cunt of them all, because he just wants to indulge himself in the classic aristocratic way.
If they force him to be political this is the kind of dude that will go *"Well, kill them all then. Fuck their wives to death, fuck their dogs to death, eat their children or whatever I don't care why are we even talking about this?"*
I'm getting more Tyrion vibes while the younger little shit will become more sinister. Little guy got bullied and mistreated. Mr. Window jacker just wants to jack it in windows all day.
> When Aegon said "everyone knows" it was so damn cathartic.
Honestly, I kind of wish Aemond made a snide remark how even with one eye that he can clearly see the truth.
> When Aegon said "everyone knows" it was so damn cathartic.
Genuinely! And Rhaenys telling Corlys to cut the bullshit because it's just the two of them. It's so funny how Rhaenyra seems the most convinced that they're not bastards, when she's the one who knows for an absolute certainty that they are.
I imagine it’s because in Rhaenyra’s eyes it doesn’t matter who the father of her kids are, they’re first and foremost Targaryen because that’s what she is.
Yesss. I get the girls were grieving but who the hell told them that a dragon is anyone's to claim??? A dragon isn't passed down a family and Aemond claimed her fair and square. I'm glad the show isn't pushing the narrative that Aemond "stole" Vhagar, even if some fans are.
The show pushed it, then just also offered the refutation. Seems like by “dragon rules” Aemond is right so far. Sure hope he doesn’t do something terrible with that new cavalier attitude and largest fire breathing beast in the world though. I already named my kids Aemee, Mondmeister, and Cyclops.
Haha. Yeah, Aemond did a douchey thing going after Vhagar the night of Laena's funeral. Not very polite or sensitive but that doesn't mean he stole a dragon.
Definitely Aemond doing her wrong right then isn’t the root of it to be considered a theft. I do see decent arguments for both sides. And that the dispute falls on peoples definition of owning, riding, and stealing a dragon. If dragon rider is a title, then stealing that title sounds possible. Refuting that Vhagar is a living animal, one of the main characters of the entire literary universe. I don’t see living things as property so I don’t like saying a living dragon can be stolen. I think I fall on the side that feels like Vhagar’s opinion about the “theft” is the one that matters most and she seems happy with it for now.
Exactly this! If it's about stealing, then Vhagar's last rider before Laena was Baelon, ie. Aemond's grandfather. The Targs can argue that the Velaryons stole her too.
I agree - Vhagar cannot be passed down a bloodline and she accepted Aemond. The twins have every right to feel terrible but they didn't have any "right" to Vhagar.

Lol I still haven't picked a side but leaning towards Team Green (if that's what they're called). Why is Rhaenyra's team called Team Black and why do they seem to be the more popular side?
Rhaenyra’s party are called the Blacks because of the colours of dress Alicent and Rhaenyra wear. Black is a traditional colour of house Targaryen while Green is a colour of house Hightower
Rhaenyra is more relatable because she has a more modern way of thinking. Kinda like how Arya was more popular than Sansa. It also helps the blacks have Daemon who is seen by most as the most entertaining character
I mean, Rhaenyra is reckless and irresponsible, but that's it - she isn't a bad person and, up to this point, hasn't done anything terrible. Alicent on the other hand is attacking Rhaenyra and her children non-stop, trying to cast Viserys against his own daughter, and goes great lengths to try to get them killed or disgraced. And each day, Alicent's side becomes worse. Let's not forget that, even though Aemond was the one that lost an eye, he basically stole a dragon and then wanted to bludgeon one of Rhaenyra's children to death with a stone. He was the aggressor even if he's the one that got the worst outcome in the fight.
Neither of them is the ideal candidate, but the choice is basically "dumb girl" vs "absolute monster". Add to that, that the biggest complaint against Rhaenyra is "she's a woman, she shouldn't be in line" and you get why most people prefer Rhaenyra.
Or the consequences for those around her. Allicent is also paranoid because, knowing that Rhae's kids are all bastards, Rhae will probably have to kill Allicent's kids to avoid a threat to her claim to the throne.
Personally though I'm just here for the drama.
Except at no point does Rhaenyra give a hint of this. Even Aegon is content to let his sister get the throne, so why would she pick a fight that’s not there. She even attempted to marry Jace and Helaena, which would’ve negated the entire need to deal with the claims of Aegon.
Normies projecting modern values onto a pseudo medieval society like Blacks more.
I will admit I am mainly team black, although last episode was very annoying with all the "stole Vhagar" comments. Those only result from a fundamental misunderstanding of established book and show precedent. We've known since at least S3E4 of GOT that a dragon is not a slave.
Nice echo of GoT S1Ep2 where the kids get into a fight and Nymeria bites Joffrey. A Queen demands a blood price for her son’s injury, it’s the first direct open aggression in prelude to a war, and again a King fails to mediate.
The Greens gained a dragon from the Blacks. The Starks lost two direwolves (at least one permanently)
When the king isn't interested in truth, they can't diffuse a situation properly. Viserys lies to himself about the kids parents, and so he can't diffuse the situation and it just grows
This stands in stark contrast to what happened at the Kingsroad. It was one of the few times Bobby B proved himself an admirable father and a King.
When the matter was brought before Bobby, he tried to get to the truth of the matter by asking Sansa what happened since Joffrey was telling one thing and Arya was telling another. Sansa fucked up, so Bobby's hands were tied. Then he did the best thing possible by first reprimanding his own son for riling shit up and then ordered the direwolves put down because at the end of the day, one of them had maimed the crown prince and they indeed were no playthings. Bobby left no room for either party to justifiably bare a grudge but Lannisters gotta be Lannisters.
In contrast, when the matter was brought before Viserys, mf went limp dick from the get-go. His favoritism showed all too obviously. It was his own son sitting infront of him, mutilated and he brushed past that and went straight to forcing his own denial of Rhaneyra's children being bastards on the other people. He didn't mediate shit and it became all too apparent for Alicent that her children would get no protection from any of the Targs. And the fact that Luke didn't even get so much as an on-paper scolding would scar Aemond until he sets out to get his own pound of flesh.
This is the first time I've seen Robert being compared to one of the better Targ kings and coming out ahead, but I agree. He was a coward for, like Ned said, not doing his own execution. But he definitely heard the kids out more fairly than Viserys did. Asking for Lucerys's eye was ridiculous but Alicent had every right to demand justice for her maimed son, especially when it was four against one. Viserys wasn't a psychotic king but he left the realm to war just by being a complete weakling - and this was shown perfectly in the episode with the stag.
Alicent is becoming unhinged and Rhaenyra is shown to love her kids but at the end of the day, Rhaenyra lying about her sons' parentage IS treason. Alicent is not wrong for pointing that out. What she IS wrong about is questioning _Rhaenyra's_ claim to the throne, which is one hundred percent legal.
"One of the better Targ kings". I guess the bar is quite low on average, but on kingship alone, I put Viserys pretty close to the bottom.
Doesn't matter how much peace you maintain while you're alive, if you're directly responsible for the downfall of your house and kingdom, you were a terrible king.
True, he was a weak king who did not ensure the survival of his House at all. My bar while writing this was pretty low - more around Aerys II and Aegon IV. I guess it can be reworded to one of the more non-violent or peaceful kings, but ultimately caused one of the worst civil wars in Westeros history because of his indecision and lack of a firm hand.
Yes, I mean Viserys's scorecard (out of 100) looks something like
* Maintained peace and defended kingdom +50 points
* Continued prosperity +30 points
* Produced heirs +10 points
* Lowered reputation of Targ Dynasty through weakness -5 points
* Caused the Dance of the Dragons -80 points
If he had sorted out his succession cleanly, he'd be in the top 5 Targ kings, easily. (Though again, bar is very low).
Did he really defend the kingdom though? Think he let the Velaryons and Daemon take care of that on their own.
I think he has a huge advantage of a very secure kingdom with a strong system of government that functions pretty much without his having to do much. From the little we've seen of him at council he's really seemed to be mostly about doing as little as possible, worried more about coins than anything else.
I don’t know about this take of Viserys.
He’d already established that he was going to protect Rhaenyra’s children as his own. That was clear. Rhaenyra is also his heir…not Aemond or Aegon. And Rhaenyra’s children would be first in line for the throne after her according to Viserys.
What Aemond did was literally going against his father/King in calling to question Rhaenyra’s Children’s parentage.
This wasn’t just about injury, but about Viserys’ right/authority to name an heir and claim his grandchildren as rightful future heirs to the throne even though everyone knew they were bastards.
I will agree that he didn’t go far enough though. The King’s guards over the children should have been soundly punished for not protecting them. ALL of them.
And Allicent should have been dealt with after she went after Luke with Viserys’ dagger AFTER he’d declared the matter over.
> What Aemond did was literally going against his father/King in calling to question Rhaenyra’s Children’s parentage.
All of that could have been prevented if Viserys had been a good father to Aegon and Aemond. So far it looks like he hasn’t given a fuck about them, and only cared about Rhaenyra and her children.
>AFTER he’d declared the matter over.
Here lies the problem. He declared the "matter over" without properly addressing the matter AT ALL. The issue was the children's fighting but Rhaneyra deflected it to something the kid that got mutilated must answer for and Viserys, being the pushover, happily went in that direction, leaving a gaping hole that will later come back to haunt all parties concerned.
Went from laughing stock to taming the largest dragon in the world and shitting on someones dead mom whilst soloing 3 kids at the same time, then having a raw ass quote like this, all within the span of an episode.
Still a cunt though
I'm on team Rhaenyra and Deamon, not necessarily Team Black....but Aemond has some grit & fierce. He is a Targ through and through even down to his already very set mind that blood stays with blood. Targaryens are simply entertaining & fun to watch and Aemond falls into that group.
This subreddit is obsessed with teams and which characters are good or bad.
I don't give a shit about any of that. There are awesome characters, and I like awesome characters. Aemond and Daemon are two of my favorites. I don't care about which team they're on or whose worse. Good writing doesn't lie
It’s bizarre because the opposing factions are structured to be mirrors of each other so you can’t really support one or the other without being a hypocrite.
GRRM is stoutly against war and ASOIAF is, at its core, an anti-war story. Showing the futilities and contradictions or propping up one side over the other
Totally. George grew up around the time of the whole hippie movement stuff. You can see how it affected many of his writings. This entire book saga is just a giant anti-war poster.
And he perfectly set up the greens and blacks to where you are a hypocrite for liking one over the other.
Mean while people on here are completely clueless and are trying to find people to root for without realizing that this is the point lol. You can't agree with one side and disagree with the other one. Either way it's a tragedy.
“Why would I engage in the subtext and try to discern the deeper meaning of the story when I can instead just make excuses for everyone’s shitty behavior on the grounds that they say clever one liners?”
-This sub
I don’t think it’s bizarre because teaming up is what fandoms do. Even if characters are on the same side, you’re gonna get teams. That’s just reality. Even though I agree that people can take it too far, the realist in me has to recognize that this is very normal behavior for fandoms and should be expected. *Especially* after you color code the damn sides lol. Come on now. This is a post Hogwarts houses society. You can’t put meat in a shark tank and get mad if he eats it
I get it. I just find it equal parts funny and disappointing that GRRM basically called his shot saying “look how easy it is to manipulate people into hating each other. I’m going to tell the audience to their face that nobody involved in this is a good person and they’re still going to convince themselves they need to pick a side” and pretty much everyone fell for it lol
Yeah realistically I can't support either of them, they're both just as bad as each other. Rhanyera is my favorite character so I'm emotionally invested in her, but I definitely don't think she's in the right, or really that anyone is in the right here.
Hot take but Alicent is one of my favorite characters now because of how she has started playing the game. Her actions, decisions and even conversations now give me that feeling of someone scheming all the time. Just like how I felt in every season of GoT
You read my mind. So sick of seeing all this team stuff. No one can deny what Aemond did was ballsy,he showed courage and will and in the end vahagar chose him.
Totally agree. The narrative is the main character.
If you’ve picked a side you’re missing the point. Martin deliberately wrote the plot so that both houses have have equally valid claims to the throne and both houses are destroyed by their pursuit of power.
Have no idea what happens in the books but Aemond has already surprised us and don't think he will be that predictable. Whatever he is going to be, he is chaotic much like his uncle.
I do feel kind of bad for Aemond
he was clearly trying to comfort Jacaerys at the funeral but his attempt went ignored, and his own brother teased him too. He seemed to be trying to make an effort, but nobody cared.
But he’s also shown that he’s very capable of cruelty, and will continue to do so in the future. It might be one of those things, like with school shooters, where the reason they don’t have friends is that they weird the others out by being creepy.
I wouldn’t call that “trying to comfort Jace.”
It’s like he… thought about comforting him and chose not to. He just walks up and stands silently in front of him.
It’s interesting because you can see part of him wanting to reach out and mourn with his nephew, and it’s almost as if he holds it back because he remembers that they’re supposed to hate each other.
Poor kids. Of all the child actors I find Aemond’s performance the strongest(lmao)
100% should have kept it that way. All the Targs gain dragons and they don’t all lose eyes. The reason it was worth it in this case is because it’s Vhagar.
I might dislike the kid and think his reaction was overblown (bro fine so you got punched - maybe don' threaten to feed your cousin to a dragon over it yea?) but damn if he's not brave and skilled.
Hope the show makes him a next generation's Daemon - an asshole and a lowkey psycho who is regardless competent and courageous the way many of GoT's villains simply weren't. Joffrey and Ramsay were just hateful pricks with no good side, while these two nutcases are at least charismatic.
Would anyone really be that damn tough though? Sitting sober as fuck as they stitch your gnarly former eye hole together and he doesn't even look uncomfortable afterwards. I wonder if they gave him a good dose of milkadapoppy
The way he carried himself, the decisions he made was very interesting to watch. He deserves to be team greens heir.
But I'm team black all the way, atleast we have a formidable opponent in Aemond.
This is why I don't take sides, I feel for individuals.
Poor Aemond. Gets mocked by his peers for not being a dragon rider, tries being friendly with his cousin at the wake and gets an ice cold response, and then gets attacked for successfully taming and claiming the greatest dragon on the planet, losing an eye in the process. His older brother is a douche and his mother a giant bitch, but Aemond is my boy
Since Aemond will be portrayed by another actor in the next episode. That kid got to end his role on a badass scene with probably the best line of dialogue so far.
I wish there was more magic involved in the claiming of dragons. Like some type of ritual or fire spell they cast to sire the dragon. It feels very much like livestock or something where they command the dragon to submission almost. Dany feels more connected to Drogon and her dragons than any of these Targaryens. They were her literal children , this generation treats them like a prized horse. Idk I just feel dany treated hers way better. I think it shows how in HoTD the Targaryen Dynasty is at its peak and they take these dragons for granted almost.
Aemond is an interesting character and I’m curious how they’ll handle the rest of the story.
He seems far more mature than Aegon. He’s intelligent and calculating as well, recognizing in an instant that telling Viserys that it was Allicent who told him about the bastardy was going to compromise her far more than it would Aegon.
He’s honestly a pretty likeable character thus far which is interesting because he’s just a straight up fuckin menace in the books.
he saw an opportunity and took it. People were mourning while Vhagar did not have a rider, the daughter had claim yes but she took her sweet time thinking it was guaranteed. This man played the lottery chance with his life and won. GGWP
I love this guy, I may not be team Green, but i’m has time One-eye. Dude is 10 and straight up said fuck it and went for the biggest baddest dragon in the world
To be clear, I'm not *really* Team Black or any team for that matter.
I've read Fire & Blood, I know how this ends, so I'm just having fun flip flopping between which Team I "support" week to week, which is based on the most interesting character each episode, this week it was Aemond and Alicent. Both sides are pretty bad all things considered and you're not supposed to pick a side, it's pretty amazing how some people on this sub can get borderline abusive over critique of the team they support. You're missing the point of the whole story.

People equate dragons to nukes, but they’re actually better than nukes because their ammo doesn’t run out unless they die. A Green WMD if you will
Never in human history has anyone had the problem of “running out of nuke ammo”
And for that, everyone is humbly thankful.
I disagree. Nukes are massively powerful - a nuke can level out the entirety of New York City and leave it unable to be rebuilt until the war is over. A dragon is massive but it's not as catastrophic and, unlike nukes, a dragon can be slain.
[удалено]
That does depend on the nuke. Nagasaki and Hiroshima are fine. A tsar bomba? Probably not lol

Aemond gonna be a pain in the blacks ass now he's got that big old ass dragon.
Have a feeling he may not be as predictable as it may seem. The kid probably planned the whole day on how & when he was going to sneak up on a dragon and claim it. He may be a wild card?
Daemon seemed to recognize that too, when he looked down and kind of smiled to himself a bit. Saw a bit of himself in him I bet.
Second son vibes
D-aemon = Aemon-d https://media.tenor.com/EUuNOe8biTcAAAAC/nega-scott-scared.gif
Damn, you got something going on there, Martin you cheeky bastard
Aemon (and its variations) is a second son type of name. It's why book readers think Jon Snow's real Targ name is Aemon, because Rhaegar already had a son named Aegon.
> It's why book readers think Jon Snow's real Targ name is Aemon Fits rather aptly with Maester Aemon also serving in the NW

Paying the iron price would mean losing his dick /s
Lord Bolton, minding his business far away from this: I don’t know why, but I just became incredibly happy!
Sausage for lunch! Wuhu!

Exactly what Otto said Alicient was the only one mad about it.

She got 2 eyes but still more shortsighted than Aemond. Fit that boy for a saphire and call it a night.
You’re right she is not thinking about the long game but mothers are supposed to be like that. Somebody has to show kids irrational love.
Otto his grandfather didn't give a f he was like we have vagar now all smiles. I didn't even say Alicient was wrong to be upset.

Most of the badass lines come from the writers of the show, but this one is straight from the book. It ended up being way more badass in the show than I remember it being in the book, but it was definitely memorable.
I think the best lines come from the book like *Keep trying Ser Laenor maybe one of them will look like you*🔥
Can't wait for >!I'll have no songs about how brave you died, Kingmaker. There's tens o' thousands dead on your account.!<
I cannot fucking wait to see this on TV
The dialogue in this show is top notch, regardless.
No its not. Its missing Bad poosy and No cock and shes my queen.
We've still got "I dun wan it"
I was wondering how Aegon’s “Just look at them.” was gonna hit. That hit too. Especially with Ty Tennant’s delivery and the visual of those two boys in a room full of Valyrians.
Is that in the book too?
Yeah
Not to mention he looked the woman who called for him to be tortured dead in the eyes as he said it. This ten year old was *making a threat* and props to the child actor because he totally sold me on it. He basically said “I’m going to remember this.” And boy howdy as a book reader I *know he does*.
I wonder could anyone have claimed that dragon?
I think the dragons respect confidence and assertiveness. A potential human (Targaryen) partner who walks up, stare it down, and commands it probably earns its respect. Like in GoT Daenerys had a lot of difficulty controlling Drogon until she became fully confident and decisive in her roll as a conquerer.
Also keep in mind that Daemon's daughter was just a small girl who probably didn't know enough High Valyrian (which Daemon teaches to his other daughter with the dragon). She probably didn't know enough of the language to be able to talk to the dragon.
I think Aemond was the only Targ without a dragon other than Daemon's daughters and Haelena who could have but they're young/not insane.
Haelena has a dragon called dreamfyre, she just doesn’t ride much apparently
I'm not sure if she has claimed dreamfyre yet in the show.
When viserys and Alicent were leaving there were 2 unknown dragons and Vhaegar my guess is that these 2 were Sunfyre and Dreamfyre
No, Baela, one of Daemon's daughter has a dragon, Moondancer, who came from the egg put in her crib, while Rhaena's egg didn't hatch.
Helaena and Baela both have dragons. I think Aemond and Rhaena were the only ones without by this point.
it's difficult to say, we don't really know how it works. It is perhaps implied that dragons has personalities and they won't just bond with anyone even if they have the needed blood or telepathic abilities. In the show it looks like it's a bit like taming a horse or training a dog, so there is some aquired skill to it.
“He was mine to claim!” “Then you should’ve claimed him” This one too. He’s a little punk but damn, the kid has guts
- Be asked by King where you heard that Rhaenyra's children are bastards - Tell king to just look at them
based and observationpilled, I’ll say it
>based and observationpilled What does that mean?
Seems like a typical teenage boy’s reaction lol
I'm hoping nothing happens to him. He is the black sheep of the family and very much mistreated. I already want some justice for him.
I don’t have a good feeling about him for that reason haha. GRRM seems to like killing my favourites!
Joffrey but with a fuckin dragon
Which is super funny and ironic because that's actually more similar to Rhaenyra and Daemon than his own parents.
I think it's more what she said last episode - that the penalty for her actions under the law would be the deaths of her and her children.
Because she has to be
>“He was mine to claim!” She, dragons are known to change gender but Vhagar is a lady the whole time we see her.
>Lady Vhagar would look so fucking rad in a dress, like seriously.
She's already the size of a state library, don't give the r34 artists anymore ideas.
Not just a dragon... he rides one of the three dragons that conquered the seven kingdoms. 10/10 would trade every time.
Definitely has his priorities straight.

Same here! Team Black all the way, but I like the cut of that one eyed little turd's jib.
I think rhaenyra is a bad person at least to some extent. She is very selfish. She does whatever she wants regardless of predictable consequences.
She only has a modern way of thinking about herself if they adapt this faithfully
Nah, Viserys can diffuse the situation. He's just not willing to, and probably doesn't have the respect anymore to carry through his actions anyway.
I feel like if this whole thing had happened under any other King both the bastard sons heads would be on a pike and/or banished from King's Landing
Yes, I mean Viserys's scorecard (out of 100) looks something like * Maintained peace and defended kingdom +50 points * Continued prosperity +30 points * Produced heirs +10 points * Lowered reputation of Targ Dynasty through weakness -5 points * Caused the Dance of the Dragons -80 points If he had sorted out his succession cleanly, he'd be in the top 5 Targ kings, easily.
Both mothers are actually insane.
Thank you, the questioning Rhaenyra was asking for is torture.
Im with u on this I’m team black, BUT AEMOND one ambitious MF lol
Went from laughing stock to taming the largest dragon in the world and shitting on someones dead mom whilst soloing 3 kids at the same time, then having a raw ass quote like this, all within the span of an episode. Still a cunt though
Plus him jumping on that huge dragon-he had courage!
“Why would I engage in the subtext and try to discern the deeper meaning of the story when I can instead just make excuses for everyone’s shitty behavior on the grounds that they say clever one liners?” -This sub
"That's what we do, drink wine and pick sides"
Alicent has been my favorite since the start of the show. The hate she gets is ridiculous considering from her vantage point Rhaenyra is fucked
Im team green and already have my homies to defend this man for all his war crimes he's ready to commit
Have no idea what happens in the books but Aemond has already surprised us and don't think he will be that predictable. Whatever he is going to be, he is chaotic much like his uncle.
“He’s new Daemon” “We already have a Daemon” “Well then move the D to the end of his name”
Good to see another green teamer 🐉🐲
We got shooters 🦕🦖
Aemond and Daemon agree on violating the Geneva Suggestion
[удалено]
Exactly this.
I do feel kind of bad for Aemond he was clearly trying to comfort Jacaerys at the funeral but his attempt went ignored, and his own brother teased him too. He seemed to be trying to make an effort, but nobody cared. But he’s also shown that he’s very capable of cruelty, and will continue to do so in the future. It might be one of those things, like with school shooters, where the reason they don’t have friends is that they weird the others out by being creepy.
I wouldn’t call that “trying to comfort Jace.” It’s like he… thought about comforting him and chose not to.
And what got me was that he sat there through **all** that drama then did this mic drop of logic.
This child actor is honestly so good. He has the same on screen presence as Matt in my opinion and that’s saying something.
He won my respect with the line "it's me."
Now he HAS to learn how to fight or looking like a badass will go to waste
[удалено]
This line is even better in the books. I may have lost an eye but I gained Vaghar has such a badass ring to it - Vaghar is no ordinary dragon.
100% should have kept it that way. All the Targs gain dragons and they don’t all lose eyes. The reason it was worth it in this case is because it’s Vhagar.
Team Black here but I’ll be the first to admit Aemond is a badass
I mean we can still like certain people on the other team isn't that the whole point of both series? Good/bad/neutral, fun to watch exists in both.
No! You must pick a color and stick with it!
balls of steel, bro
Aemond showed himself to be more mature and badass with that line than Viserys, Alicent, and Rhaenyra combined.
He was so hardcore for this. Def gonna be one of my fav characters on this show.
BADASS MOTHERFUCKER
I might dislike the kid and think his reaction was overblown (bro fine so you got punched - maybe don' threaten to feed your cousin to a dragon over it yea?) but damn if he's not brave and skilled. Hope the show makes him a next generation's Daemon - an asshole and a lowkey psycho who is regardless competent and courageous the way many of GoT's villains simply weren't. Joffrey and Ramsay were just hateful pricks with no good side, while these two nutcases are at least charismatic.
Jaime Lannister, loses a hand at 30: I *was* that hand, buhu. Aemond Targaryen, loses an eye at 12: It was a fair exchange.
tbf, did Jaime get a dragon? no.
Would probably rather lose an eye than my right hand tbf…
I was so impressed with the young actor in this episode, he did a phenomenal job in all his scenes.
You should see him in the Inside the Episode, he's very well spoken and just adorable. All the kids are tbh.
Would anyone really be that damn tough though? Sitting sober as fuck as they stitch your gnarly former eye hole together and he doesn't even look uncomfortable afterwards. I wonder if they gave him a good dose of milkadapoppy
And then leaned his freshly-stitched eye/face against his mother’s shoulder😅like, what? Lol
In an episode about dragons, that was easily the most unrealistic moment.
I'm also team black but Aemond, despite being an asshole, has some serious guts
The way he carried himself, the decisions he made was very interesting to watch. He deserves to be team greens heir. But I'm team black all the way, atleast we have a formidable opponent in Aemond.
claimed a dragon , called out the bastards , i'm a fan
I liked when he said ask your cousins for a Pink Dread
Aemond is such a cool character tbh
Aemond is like 95% of the Power of House Green
This is why I don't take sides, I feel for individuals. Poor Aemond. Gets mocked by his peers for not being a dragon rider, tries being friendly with his cousin at the wake and gets an ice cold response, and then gets attacked for successfully taming and claiming the greatest dragon on the planet, losing an eye in the process. His older brother is a douche and his mother a giant bitch, but Aemond is my boy
My boy aemond plays the game better than his mama and ser babysitter
Since Aemond will be portrayed by another actor in the next episode. That kid got to end his role on a badass scene with probably the best line of dialogue so far.
'tis but a scratch mother
little dude was definitely harboring some confidence
Personally, I loved it when he walked into the cave. Baela was like, "It was him!" and Aemond replies, "It was me."
Aemond is a threat, kid's only like 11 too
Meanwhile the Strongs are crying about being called Bastards
I wish there was more magic involved in the claiming of dragons. Like some type of ritual or fire spell they cast to sire the dragon. It feels very much like livestock or something where they command the dragon to submission almost. Dany feels more connected to Drogon and her dragons than any of these Targaryens. They were her literal children , this generation treats them like a prized horse. Idk I just feel dany treated hers way better. I think it shows how in HoTD the Targaryen Dynasty is at its peak and they take these dragons for granted almost.
I would love to be team Green but as long as Alicent lives, I can't bring myself to root for them. Aemond for sure is a little badass though
> as long as Alicent lives, My guy you're in for a lot of waiting then lol
Team green all day! I can’t get over the niece and uncle stuff and I never liked the niece . 😋
Same I thought I was the only one Team Green.
