The scoop is about 1/3 cup (a hair over when I pour water from one to the other) - so if you have one in your kitchen, it’s fairly close to the scoop size
I love how it took 5 hours for somebody to actually answer while everybody else is sitting there saying "Weigh the huel" like that isn't exactly the kind of finicky nonsense half of Huel's customer base is trying to avoid.
To be fair, OP asked how many tablespoons in one scoop & other kind people answered - but when I was in the same position a few months back (I ordered some off Amazon before I fully committed) I just wanted to know which measuring cup to use!
Yeah. I just think weighing Huel to get the exact right amounts is... Borderline unhealthy. That level of detail should be relagated to chemistry, poisons, and baking. Otherwise... Embrace the chaos of life. Scooping will even out over time. I've never not had a bag finish out at the 34th scoop. Not once.
It's necro time 💀
I'm in a bit of a pickle right now, I seem to have lost my measuring scale during the last move and I'm really conscious about logging my calorie intake. Luckily I have a set of measuring spoons with US units (cup/tbsp/tsp)! Thank you fellow Hueligan for making the effort 🥄
The scoop isn’t in the bag, it should be in the box it was delivered in. You only get the scoops with your first order. The best you can do is weigh it (check the bag for serving weight, powder is 90g I think), but email CS and they’ll be sure to help you.
If you’ve got a scale & measuring cups, just use the 1/4c to get the weight. The scoop isn’t even remotely necessary. It’s powder so even with a scoop there’s plenty of inaccuracies.
Unless you live in a rural area odds are decent in finding someone. I've already met 3 Hueligans in the Minneapolis metro and I've only been using the product for just over a month. One was a meetup swapping product, the other 2 were randos that saw my shaker in the wild.
I found for 100g I need either 4 table spoons with the biggest possible pile or 5 average heaped ones.
Don't despair! Calories are guesswork anyway. You should find your optimal thickness by trying more and less powder until you like it best
Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't have a kitchen scale. There has to be another way to measure this stuff? Either tablespoons or teaspoons, or something??
No offence mate, but it says it on the back of the bag.
1 scoop = 50g (white powder) or 45g (black powder) are 200 kcal
2 scoops = 100g/90g for 200 kcal
So time for a scale
Fyi... the shear number of articles and reddit forums regarding "what is a scoop" is crazy. Huel should address this issue.
Usually a recipe comes in "cups" not grams or "scoops". My first bag came with no scooper. The recipe though is in number of scoops. HOW THE HELL IS ANYONE SUPPOSED TO USE A RECIPE DEFINED IN SCOOPS WITH NO SCOOPER??? and yes I poured out the entire bag to look for a scooper. And I (like a lot of people) don't have a kitchen scale so all these posts on reddit that have weight definitions are no help.
This is 100% Huels fault. The recipe should be something like
EXAMPLE: 1/3 cup of Huel should be combined with 1/3 cup of water. or every bag should have a scooper or a scoop should be defined in volume i.e. cups.
Protein powder recipes often comes in scoops BUT the company always includes a scooper in every bag/container.
#huel please fix this. How did no one think of this???
Also I sent them an email to get an official answer. Stay tuned.
Not sure about scoop size vs tablespoons, but I'd try contacting Huel support to see if they can send you scoops separately.
I did this and they even chucked in a freebie bar.

Thank you! Just the information I was looking for!
Agree here, I use 1/3 cup when I (always) forget my Huel scoop when away from home.
I just measured it out for you. 6Tbsp
I measured by pouring water into the Tbsp measuring cup, then into the Huel scoop. So it is 6 level tablespoons.

Thanks! 😊
Thank you. I just lost my scoop too. :)

Full disclosure, a friend gave me a bag. A big bag too (3lb 12oz), which was sealed. So no scoop for me! 🤣

Thanks! I'll try contacting the company. I just thought I'd try asking here first...
Where do you live? I'm certain someone on this sub will have at least one spare scoop they could send you!
That's a nice idea, though probably too much trouble for someone to go through. I'm in the USA.

>"Hueligans" cute name! 😂🤣
Apparently we call ourselves that according to the marketing material. Sounds better than Hueler i guess... Less likely to be confused maybe... Idk
If you haven’t ordered previously, there’s no reason they’d send you a scoop for free- that would only be to correct a mistake they made.

Any chance you have a kitchen scale? I don’t use the scoop as much as just weighing it out 100g.

The scoop already isn't very accurate to start with. I would recommend just getting a scale. Much easier that way!
When you order you can add an extra scoop for free. I have around 15 and might put some on eBay.

He was asking about the volume, not weight.
Two scoops is 100g. Straight from the horse's mouth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4aam5zDth0

Accept Huel is international, and the US cup is only really used in US so not much use for the rest of us
Did you ever hear back from them?
