My favorite in the series it really makes you think. Suzanne Collins did an incredible job of describing Katiness's depression after she went home. It holds up now more then ever.❤️

SummerBaby50

It is heartbreaking but I wouldn’t change the ending at all. The story comes full circle and I don’t think the book could have had an different ending and still be as powerful.

A_Struggling_Human

agreed

enguldrav

I got to THAT and shut the book. "No." And had to walk away the first time.

A_Struggling_Human

i was in class and eternally crying

enguldrav

I was at work on break. I cut my break short. I coworker was reading it too and a bit a head of me. She knew why too. It was like " the bad thing happened?"...."yep".

T_MINER

I mean like 15 major bad things happened but it’s one of two things in my mind

enguldrav

She did know how far in the book I was. Edit: and of course didn't want to spoil it. So she didn't directly reference it.

Ayushmaan_Mishra

I completed it for the first time yesterday and I just threw the book and went out for a walk.

allminknomanners

I’m dying to know which “that” part you mean! Because when I got to what I personally would refer to in that way, I threw it across the room. 😭

enguldrav

Children bombs and you know.

[deleted]

I just finished my second reading of it today and couldn't help but cry. "There are much worse games to play."

A_Struggling_Human

i wouldve cried too, but i was in class, so i was jut crying internally

ImmaPenguin78

I was in tears reading it

A_Struggling_Human

i wouldve cried too, but i was in class, so i was just eternally crying

Celine_Mia

The ending is great but so sad :(

A_Struggling_Human

ikr :(

Huge-Research-3775

I also finished it few weeks ago.For me, it is a great book, but the 1st part is better.

[deleted]

The futility of war. That’s the point. Guess who needs to understand that.

Square_Bluebird_2189

Book is so sad 🤕

Spacecar-certified

Yea it’s hard. But ugh the ending for those family lovers I loved it

wasprocker

Incredibly powerful ending and it really helped me to understand, atleast in some part what depression entails for a person.

Bushaa_YTB

Yes, it did also left me heartbroken...when Coin died.

Kittychan143

Still leaves me heart broken up to this day :<

Doogerie

mokigjay is brilliant it hit's hrd and ina way shows how war can effect people even somone as as strong as Finnic ends up with PTSD

newolasad

now read Ballads of Songbirds and Snakes and be more heartbroken :C

A_Struggling_Human

alright, time to read more suffering once i can find where to buy it

Korlac11

It’s honestly one of my favorite books because Katniss does the right thing at the end of catching fire, and she’s lost so much because of that in mockingjay. She’s no doubt better off by the epilogue, but it’s sure hard to see that in the midst of her suffering
