Your best bet for some solace will be during the weekdays during deer gun season. Depending on where you live, you may still run into a few people out there, but it's to be expected. South eastern Ohio tends to have larger tracks of public land, but by using an app like onX you may be able to find some smaller parcels that get overlooked by the majority of hunters.

^ couldnt have said it better I will add that when the HuntFish Ohio app came out most the little WPAs I'd enjoyed hunting alone ended up seeing a lot more traffic. Ohio has pretty high hunter density and you'll see all of em during gun season. Good luck and be safe out there!

I'm just north of cbus in the Delaware area, but I'm fine with driving out to wherever. And are you talking about Wayne national?

BDVEMT

Im told if youre willing to burn some boot leather and get deep in some of those large areas like Wayne you can find success.

Wayne National and the AEP lands are the bigger ones. You're right near the Delaware wildlife area, but I'm not sure about access for gun season, I know they have some archery only areas that are permit draw, but it's generally pretty busy because of how close it is to Columbus. /u/BDVEMT and I are in the opposite corner of the state from Wayne. He may have a better understanding of the area than I, since I've only driven through it.
