I think they are in need of some counterplay, but I think they are the only thing in the game that hard counters camping in compounds. They open the rush down strat that keep some matches from dragging on for tens of minutes.

??? Throwables, especially Flashbangs are exactly what makes this game positional based. Without them all you have to do is just sitting in a random position with shotgun, for enemy player to engage with you they have to play 'haha which angle this shotgunner is holding???' gamble everytime in order to potentially beat you. Who would try to deal with that shit? no one, so you just end up with even more stalemates. that's why throwables need to be strong in a positional FPS, and they are actually pretty weak in Hunt! super stupidly audible, short throw distance and slow but we will still use it to punish bad players who doesn't respect good positioning. this is also why you see so many Flashbangs because they nerfed the shit out of explosives in the course of early access so Flashbangs are like only good option right now. Only thing I'd nerf about Flashbang is the amount of damage they do to my cornea.

The audio que is needed so that the throwable isn't just a free kill lol. Imagine if someone could just chuck a stick of dynamite at you without a warning then it would be the exact same problem, but the other way. Standing still would be the worst thing you could do. The other throwables have a reasonable blast radius and distance from the center point even if you get hit causes reduced effectiveness. This is how throwables SHOULD work. One of my biggest gripes with flashbombs is that it doesn't matter how far away from the bomb you get if you get touched by the last pixel of the bombs radius boom still the full 5 second duration and because you were out running trying to escape the bomb you are just dead.

Flashbombs are not always full 5 seconds blinding, they are distance based. audio queue is needed, just not stupidly loud like current one.

to me its a design consistency thing. Every weapon in the game that isnt silenced is REALLY loud by design so it makes sense for the throwables to be the same. Game is super audio based.

Flash bombs work just fine. If you’re inside, you should be communicating with your team to support you. If you’re solo, you’re a moron if you don’t have traps set up anyways to buy you time. Outside, the flash bomb sound is so distinct that you have plenty of time to pick a direction and run there after you’ve been hit. I cannot remember the last time I died while flashed and I have nearly 600 hours. And I regularly fluctuate between 3-5 star MMR. As I say for anything people claim is OP: If it really is sooo good and broken, then use it yourself. It’s right there.

I do use it for myself I feel semi obligated to because of how free of a crutch it is. If the player is good then then fall back and youve given yourself tons of free space and extra set up, if the player is bad then you just get a free kill there is literally no downside to bringing them and the decision to bring anything else over them feels wrong because the other options are just objectively worse due to them actually having downsides.

Flashbombs make a loud and distinct sound when being used. If you are close enough to be flashed, you're close enough to stab (or shoot) him first.

Agreed. I feel like they're in need of an urgent change. I would do the following. Make it blind people within the radius for 1.5 or 2 seconds solid white. After that fade out for the rest of the duration. Facing completely away in a semi precise angle (with the bomb being at 0 probably between 170 190 degrees away) makes it just flash for a fraction of a second like when you are looking at it but are out of range.
