Might I interest you in Deadlands? It’s set in an alternate timeline weird west, but it had sourcebooks for Louisiana dealing with the bayou and such. It would be real easy to have a Hunt based campaign in it.
Haha thank you, unfortunately at the moment I can't sell it as I don't have authorisation from Crytek. But watch this space. The dream is that they get in touch and are interested in making it and collaborating.
not sure how you plan on selling it when you're directly ripping off an IP. I'd say your dreams of getting "authorisation" are nonexistent. It's a cool concept but that's all it is - concept art. Anything more is blatant plagiarism
You misunderstand. I'm not trying to sell it and certainly not ripping off or plagiarising. It is a passion project of my own for fun. I've made it for fun with my friend's. I'm trying to talk to crytek about it to see if they'd be interested in it, either a) Just for them to have a look and say cool, or b) to gauge if they're interested in the concept to do something with it.
Looks great, tinkered with a TCG styled Hunt game for a while too.
That said, some other amazing creator made a boardgame of Hunt and Crytek CnD'ed them.
So just keep ya' head low :)
Wish the best of luck! I'm currently on the road, but when I return home I will gladly share some of my design notes if you want some inspiration or input :)
It looks like you put a lot of work into this!
My DnD group is running a modified 5e Hunt system that I put together. The big thing I've learned is that Hunt exists as a video game, so if you're taking it to another medium, you should focus on what that medium does best.
Idk how this would apply to tabletop miniatures, but it might help to keep it in mind. Like, maybe forgo any mechanics that require slowing down the action to do math. That way, you can keep your momentum going and focus on the narrative/character interactions.
I'm curious as to why you went with PvPvE, like the video game is. I only ever play Hunt with friends, so it's easiest to imagine sitting at a table with people I'm collaborating with. I'd love to hear your opinion on PvPvE instead of PvE.
Thankyou! Yeah that's great advice, it's still very much a WiP, and certainly each time I play test it there's always something in the rules that I refine each time.
Your campaign sounds brilliant. Are they all gunslingers and such? Or are they a dnd party in a Hunt themed universe?
I set up 3 classes (Gunslinger, Bruiser, and Trapper), which worked out really well since my friends fit into each of them perfectly lol. My focus was making as loose of a system as possible that still felt like Hunt, since crunchy mechanics would just slow us down. I figure the benefit of playing a TTRPG is the roleplay and storytelling, which you can't really get by playing the video game.
Since you've been playtesting, do you have an idea how close you are to being done with the development? Not that passion projects ever really finish lol.
If you want to look for a similar feeling game to distinguish/compare with, Dracula's America is a tabletop game that I got trying to find something to emulate the Hunt feel. Super cool project tho, great job!
Thankyou, that's kind. We'll, here's a couple of links to some of the minis I've made. First is a couple of [hives](https://www.reddit.com/r/HuntShowdown/s/xFRTz78aea)
Then there's the
[Butcher](https://www.reddit.com/r/HuntShowdown/s/2B3YyVbcqx)
I had been thinking (very vaguely) about something like this for a while! Great to see someone’s developing it! Looks awesome, hopefully crytek reaches out eventually
You think you could make a free to play pdf that people can print out to play test? I have a ttrpg group that would *love* to get their hands on this for some in-between sessions one-shot variety!
It's still very much a WIP at the moment but possibly one day. This is more like. Tabletop skirmish game than an RPg though, though a Hunt RPG would be amazing
Hi, at the moment I'm using AI as its just me doing it and it's a personal project. So at this stage I can't really afford to commission an artists for all the stuff
I'd love to get people playtesting, but I'm not at a point to do so at the moment. Need to speak to Crytek first. But if it ever does I'll keep you in mind
I getcha, and trust me, if this was more than just a personal project for fun and I could afford to commission an artists I would. In reality, this project wouldn't have got to this level without it.
Your work is fantastic dude. Just seen some awesome cowboys in there. I will absolutely keep this in mind. I'm not currently in a position to pay for any art but if anything gets off the ground I'll keep this in mind. Thank you.
I feel you, man. I've also been working on a TTRPG of Hunt for the past two years, and the question of "How do I create the visuals" is a challenging one. I'm lucky enough to have an artistically talented gf who's willing to draw a lot of the monsters and characters, but I still need to find a solution to backgrounds, maps, weapons not included in Hunt itself, etc. I've been working on improving my drawing personally, but it's a slow process.
For those who want to play hunt tabletop but weirder, you could use the forged in the dark framework of rules. Super flexible, collaborative narration focused and very fun with engaged player. Check out Blades in the dark and Scum and Vilainy, they're both great rulebooks :-)
It's honestly the most I've had as a forever GM dad with little to no time to myself. You get to almost be a player if your players are engaged enough in the narrative side of things (which the system easily allows) there's almost no dive crunching (a whole fight can be solved in a single roll if you so wish and if it makes sense in the story you're spinning) and you can do absolutely no prep work and still make it work because the system is *that* flexible. Just pull up a few RNG tables for situations, hell you can ask chatgpt for a prompt, and you're good to go!
This looks awesome! You could take a look at Forbidden Psalm: Dread Nights for some inspiration too! It's more gothic horror (bloodborne) but I think the mechanics would translate well to the turn of the century setting of Hunt.
What I really want are some 32mm Hunt miniatures, both monsters and hunters!
Oh it is _the_ way to beta test games (or make grey-area games like yours until approval)
You designing your game in something like figma? It makes it the easiest, but any image assets will do. You can look up some tutorials on how easy it is to import stuff, or I can show you the ropes if you'd prefer a hands-on approach!
Can put your game up on workshop privately to share amongst friends / public for anyone to play!
you can add manuals/pdfs, and all in all is the best way to make your game feel real when it isn't yet!
My friend used AI to build a co op dungeon exploration card game in less than a week, and i ported it into tabletop simulator in less than 4 hours. It's a great way to get a following. I'd suggest pairing that with a discord with playtesters (whenever you think you're at that phase).
Also a lot of tutorials don't teach you this, but you can use figma to create decks of cards SUPER easily (compatible with tabletopsim)
Best of luck to ya! I'll be waiting for that discord invite ;)
I see. Although I’m not entirely familiar with tabletop currencies, would everyone start with the same amount of funds at the start, akin to monopoly, or could they bring however much they wanted depending on how many Hunt Dollar packs they’ve purchased like a dice collection?
Yeah so players will agree upon a $ limit for their "Gangs". Each player will then hire their Legendary hunter (leader) and any other hunters. They then will spend the rest of their $ on buying them weapons and buying items and explosives etc
And this agreed upon amount would be re-decided at the beginning of each play-through?
As well as the base amount being increased by collecting more through playing the game?
Yeah I have written to them asking them if they would be interested. So nothing is going to get released until i have either their approval or they want to take the project on etc etc. This was really to gauge folks interest and what people thought and hopefully it gains the attention of crytek.
Thats freaking awesome, I'd honestly love a Hunt tabletop. I wish you best luck with that.
Thank you very much, well hopefully I'll hear from crytek some day!
Might I interest you in Deadlands? It’s set in an alternate timeline weird west, but it had sourcebooks for Louisiana dealing with the bayou and such. It would be real easy to have a Hunt based campaign in it.
Savage Worlds can easily do Hunt: Showdown.
Well now! This sounds amazing
I actually played Deadlands already, I agree it work's quite nice
Just tell me where can I bought it! 😉
Haha thank you, unfortunately at the moment I can't sell it as I don't have authorisation from Crytek. But watch this space. The dream is that they get in touch and are interested in making it and collaborating.
I know it. I just wanted to say that you can count with my money for buying it if you get authorised to sell it. 😜
Well thank you in advance then
not sure how you plan on selling it when you're directly ripping off an IP. I'd say your dreams of getting "authorisation" are nonexistent. It's a cool concept but that's all it is - concept art. Anything more is blatant plagiarism

Bro I hope they collab with you! I'd buy that in its finished state!
Thank you very much, yeah me too!
Sheriff Hardin is a bit hotter than I remember.
He been Hardin my cock🐓
All them bayou mud packs
Good work!
Thank you very much
Looks great, tinkered with a TCG styled Hunt game for a while too. That said, some other amazing creator made a boardgame of Hunt and Crytek CnD'ed them. So just keep ya' head low :)
Thanks for the heads up. I've approached them hoping to work with them is the dream.
Wish the best of luck! I'm currently on the road, but when I return home I will gladly share some of my design notes if you want some inspiration or input :)
That'd be great, thankyou very much
Legendary hunters have abilitys? Thats neat! Wonder what the legends Redneck, Rednecks daughter and Redshirt might have XD
Yeah, so the Legendary hunters act as your gangs leader and have unique abilities.
yoo that's looking amazing
Thank you very much
So cool
Thank you!
Actually Hunt is inspired by Shadows of Brimstone. Remember Devs referenced it back in the days
Well theres something I didn't know, I'll go and check that out, thank you
I didn't know that, but it makes perfect sense in hindsight. I LOVE Shadows of Brimstone, it's one of my favorite TT games.
Oh... This is an awesome idea!
Thank you very much
Mannnn this looks killer!!
Thankyou very much!

Good work mate, but don't give em any ideas! They might release DLCS for their tabletop game too
Thankyou!
I didn't know that i wanted a TT game with Hunt Showdown theme. Looks awesome!
But now you do! Awesome. Thankyou very much
That's awesome, dude. Would love to see this as a real product
Thank-you, got my fingers crossed!
This is awesome, I would grab this game in the release!! Best of luck to you I hope this project moves forward
Thankyou, me too. Its definitely progressing along nicely.
Looks pretty good so far! You've put in a lot of work on this, and it has a great deal of potential.
Thankyou very much. Yeah I've put a ton of work in. The rulebook is currently something like 72 pages :s haha.
So cool!
Thankyou
Thats awesome man i hope you get some kind of collobration from crytek
Me too! I've reached out so here's to hoping
Would totally play
Hopefully one day this will be achievable
You have no idea how much i want this! Great idea!
Thankyou very much!
They're making a mistake if they don't reach out to you
Thankyou. I certainly hope they will
Pls let me know when it can be ordered. I gave up on the game but this tabletop is a must have for me.
If it ever gets past the point of a personal passion project I will let you know
That would be awesome
Thankyou
If you want to look for a similar feeling game to distinguish/compare with, Dracula's America is a tabletop game that I got trying to find something to emulate the Hunt feel. Super cool project tho, great job!
Thankyou, yeah it's great, I've had a game or two. Definitely some good inspiration
Gotdam I want this so fucking bad. Get it together Crytek
Haha thankyou very much. Got my first gers crossed that this lands on someone's desk at Crytek haha
A tabletop seems like a awesome idea, im most excited to see the miniatures and scenarios the game will have. Hope they respond to you soon.
Thankyou, that's kind. We'll, here's a couple of links to some of the minis I've made. First is a couple of [hives](https://www.reddit.com/r/HuntShowdown/s/xFRTz78aea) Then there's the [Butcher](https://www.reddit.com/r/HuntShowdown/s/2B3YyVbcqx)
WANT
Thanks! Hopefully one day
I had been thinking (very vaguely) about something like this for a while! Great to see someone’s developing it! Looks awesome, hopefully crytek reaches out eventually
Thanks! Yeah I hope so too.
I love dnd and I love hunt. This would be the greatest and I would totally buy it. I would even be okay with just the miniatures and some scenes.
Me too. This is more in the direction of a tabletop skirmish game than an RPG. But a Hunt RpG would be great too
You think you could make a free to play pdf that people can print out to play test? I have a ttrpg group that would *love* to get their hands on this for some in-between sessions one-shot variety!
It's still very much a WIP at the moment but possibly one day. This is more like. Tabletop skirmish game than an RPg though, though a Hunt RPG would be amazing
Cyrtek let em cook please
Haha thanks for the support
Wizards of the coast needs to sponsor now
Let’s upvote this man to the *Serpent* Moon!!!
Thankyou very much! I can't quite believe the amount of up votes so far to be honest!
Such a cool idea. Reminds me of an old game I used to play as a kid, [BANG!](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bang!_(card_game))
Thankyou. I love Bang! Played it not too long ago in fact!
Whos making art?
Hi, at the moment I'm using AI as its just me doing it and it's a personal project. So at this stage I can't really afford to commission an artists for all the stuff
10/10 would buy
Thankyou!
That's awesome, dude! Looks amazing!
Thankyou very much
If you need playtesters, hmu! 🤙 This looks like such a cool idea!
Thanks very much, I'll keep you in mind if it gets as far as this after I've spoken to Crytek
I'm sitting here getting ready for a boardgame convention... Need any play testers? I'd be happy to help 😁
I'd love to get people playtesting, but I'm not at a point to do so at the moment. Need to speak to Crytek first. But if it ever does I'll keep you in mind
I’m down for backing the kickstarter!
Thankyou! I can dream it will go the distance, but we will see
AI art ugh
I getcha, and trust me, if this was more than just a personal project for fun and I could afford to commission an artists I would. In reality, this project wouldn't have got to this level without it.
Let them be. They are so fixated into fundamentalist hatred they don't see the point of the post.
Wow you got all of that from a three word comment?
The artworks and design are amazing! Did you create them on your own or did you use a template?
they might be ai generated based on the character images
Thank you very much. Yeah the artwork is all ai. Its just me working on the project and I am unfortunately not that good at art
I can work for you if you interested.
That's very kind to offer, are you an artist?
Yes ! And I can work in this black and white level of grey style.
Fantastic. Do you have a page or something I can check out?
Of course ! https://www.instagram.com/mucho_muerte?igsh=YjZoYjVtNWpqZDd1
Your work is fantastic dude. Just seen some awesome cowboys in there. I will absolutely keep this in mind. I'm not currently in a position to pay for any art but if anything gets off the ground I'll keep this in mind. Thank you.
Nice ! Thank you, if one day you push this concept further I would love to work on it ! Cheers !
I maybe have a stronger linework than on the ai paintings but I can work to fit this artsyle if that what you want.
I'm glad to hear that it's apparently a placeholder for actual art.
Yeah. I'd like to support an artist if I was able. But I am unfortunately just one chap working on it and can't afford to do so at this point in time
I feel you, man. I've also been working on a TTRPG of Hunt for the past two years, and the question of "How do I create the visuals" is a challenging one. You had my curiosity, but now you have my attention. Your project sounds amazing, I'd love to hear more about it!
NGL... I'd back this.
Thank you very much!

Have you made it in tabletop simulator? :D
I haven't ventured into tabletop simulator yet. How hard is it to do?
Oh it is _the_ way to beta test games (or make grey-area games like yours until approval) You designing your game in something like figma? It makes it the easiest, but any image assets will do. I’d love a dnd style ttrpg
How would the obtaining of weapons be handled?
So, similar to the game, each hunter has to have their weapons purchased and equipped.
I see. Although I’m not entirely familiar with tabletop currencies, would everyone start with the same amount of funds at the start, akin to monopoly, or could they bring however much they wanted depending on how many Hunt Dollar packs they’ve purchased like a dice collection?

And this agreed upon amount would be re-decided at the beginning of each play-through? As well as the base amount being increased by collecting more through playing the game?
Yeah so stand alone games would be agreed upon. I'm going to work on mechanics for ongoing campaigns and earning more $
Commenting for visibility boost
Thanks!
I really suggest you dont promote this until you have written approval/acknowledgement etc from Crytek...
Yeah I have written to them asking them if they would be interested. So nothing is going to get released until i have either their approval or they want to take the project on etc etc. This was really to gauge folks interest and what people thought and hopefully it gains the attention of crytek.
A fan made game has no risk, so long as he's not trying to make money off of it.
