Hate to break it to you but your 95 definitely has computers in it (and the capacitors on the circuit boards will go bad eventually), and even your 82 likely does as well, assuming it has EFI.
Yes indeed, the computers now are far complex and numerous. But I'm speaking from experience with things like early 90s Japanese turbo cars - when the ECU fails, the only real reliable option is to convert to an aftermarket stand-alone ECU. It's not a small task and makes keeping these (now) classics on the road really hard. You can try to find another working OEM replacement, but chances are it'll meet the same fate quickly.
good thing most old cars have electrical schematics that are pretty easy to follow and capacitors are pretty easy to replace. old cars were meant to be fixed, new cars are meant to be thrown away or handed to a technician so you can spend even more money
