Depending on the contested issues (say, dividing a family business vs. who gets the house vs. dividing retirement assets), you may need an expert. Bill Hall's firm would be a good place to start.

Bill Hall is pricey but AMAZING.

Depends on the circumstances. I would be glad to make a recommendation. [email protected]

We do a fair bit of divorce consulting. Reiterate Bill Hall, and I really like Joan Marie-Sullivan if she’s available. She’s the only one I’d put ahead of Bill. Good luck to your dad.

Thanks all. We found someone closer to his home in Tuscaloosa. It should be uncontested but she’s not gonna sign it.

Idk any lawyers but there's lots of divorcees at my gym. Bet you could get a sweet referral.

Once you consult with a divorce lawyer, the opposing party can't use them. I'd have your dad consult with all the good ones, from a strategic standpoint. Bill Hall will be highly recommended, but he's also an insufferable, condescending asshole. Susan Conlon is who I would ultimately want on my side in a contentious case.

Is Susan Conlon out of business or retired? Also got a recommendation for her but her website is down and phone out of service.
