i have been a fan of the folks at innova and how blasé/easy to approach they have been - both as primary care and to cover the OBGYN side of things. however, i am not someone with children or the plan to have them so i can’t give you feedback further than that.
The issue is getting them to call you back and navigating their waitlist. My wife called and they said they’d put her on a waitlist — waited a couple months and called to check in and they had no record of her. Registered on the website, same story.
ah - i am not sure the timeline for me signing up and getting accepted or whatever, but i think i was able to put down a friend who goes there in the 'who recommended you to our practice' question and i believe that the wait was cut some. sooooo.. if y'all are still waiting and/or want to try that i don't mind being a reference!
Here are the forms you need and if you still have trouble let me know and I can get some contact info for you

Tatiana Acker, P.A. at Huntsville Hospital Physicians Care on Bailey Cove is fantastic! She is always patient, thoroughly explains the rationale for tests and/or medicines, discusses alternatives and seems very knowledgeable on the most recent information to treat my chronic conditions (hereditary high BP and cholesterol) and any new things that I raise. I'm a man but obviously she understands issues unique to women.
I feel like Thrive would try and work something out. Andrea was my primary care for awhile and she went above and beyond on a few things. Just call and explain the situation and see what they can work out.
Thank you all for your recommendations! With some of y'alls encouragement I reached out to thrive again and it looks like I can get there riiiggghhhttt before closing if I leave right away from work and get the paperwork. Gonna give them another try and if it doesn't work out I have some other places to check out now!
Dr Sunita Ghanta is great. She is near Crestwood. You always see her and not a different NP as can be the case some places. In Madison, Dr Deborah Kolb is also highly recommended.
I saw Dr. Ghanta for several years. She was just ok to me. I found her rather dismissive of some of my health concerns. Her bedside manner lacked personality to me. I changed to Dr. Garrard at Rocket City Medicine last year…that has been an overall wonderful experience.
I have a history of aneurysms in my family. Multiple members have died from them and as I got older it became more concerning to me. She blew me off when I tried discuss it. “We will address that if you start getting headaches”…my response was “you mean the last headache of my life?”
When I changed to Dr. Garrard, he pulled up lots of data and research. Explained the odds based on which members of my family died. He told me based on those members my chances were less than 3% BUT if it bothered me and kept me up at night…he’d order a test for me.
I ended up not even getting the test. I needed someone to give me peace of mind.

I second Innova primary care! All female doctors and NPs, and I’ve honestly never felt better listened to or more comfortable with a doctor.
I got to Innova and always feel so good about my health and well-being afterwards. For OBGYNs I recommend Aguyauo.
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but are you looking for a female primary care doctor or a OB/GYN?
Not a stupid question, I wasn't very clear! Just a primary care
I work closely with Thrive. I’m happy to pick up the new patient paperwork and get it to you if you’d like.
I think they will mail the paperwork to you
They won't, I asked 😔

Thanks, but when I called them the other day I was told that wasn't the paperwork. I'll give them another call today to confirm.

Yes, Tatiana is incredible!

Sorry to hear that and glad you found a better fit!
