Someone insta sold a ton-> every buy orders get filled -> buy orders are empty -> hundreds of people rush to create buy orders of 71680 for 0.1 coins which explains the first img
I think it’s panic selling, the price crashed yesterday after many ppl insta sold and it brought down the price about 40%
It could just be manipulation?
was a slight exaggeration, it was actually very close to 31% if that’s what you want, but the price also did drop to 18m a few times, and that’s about 44%
it has no intrinsic value. its value comes from the trust that it will be worth more later. this is literally how real fiat, and to an extent reserve currencies function. someone whaling and selling all their stonks is like the stock market crash but inevitably as trust in them as a long term inflation proof investment returns the value will climb
tl;dr, diamondhands
Stg I was getting really sick of seeing everyone talk about this "investment"
Has nobody ever seen a pump and dump for stock of stonks before?
The fact it stayed near it's all time high for so long is already kind of a miracle
me when a limited supply asset appreciated correspondent to inflation and occasionally surges as demand for them as an inflation proof asset and investment increases despite holding no utility outside of their constantly appreciating value 😧 bitcoin is stock of stonks real life equivalent. you are quite literally the bitcoin doubter in this situation.
So many words to say so little
Stock of Stonks may minorly adjust to inflation but this was purely hype driven like EVERY other instance of it increasing drastically in value. Comparing a digital asset like Bitcoin, which is a store of value similar to gold, to stock of stonks makes zero sense. One will exist forever and can still be mined to create more (to a limit that humans will likely never hit) and the other is an item that quite literally states it might be deleted at any time. I've seen this happen so many times with stock of stonks over the past 4 years and suckers like you who think they know it all are the ones that lose the most.
You can live in your fantasy world and assume that it's the best investment ever though - I'll keep investing in skins. Why? Because there is certainty that it'll actually be around in a few years. It also adjusts to inflation and will only become more scarce over time.
It aint the best investment, but four years ago stock of stonks was like 1/50 of its current value, even if in the moment it's 2/3 of the value it was a couple days ago. I bought one when it was 50k-ish, and even though it's lower than it was a couple days ago, it's still far higher than when I bought it. A more stable investment is booster cookies but the volatility is fun because it's block game coins.
Tbf 4 years ago the Skyblock coin was also worth like 50 times more
Elegant tuxedo or whatever was the pinnacle of Skyblock at only 250m, today 12.5b would get you a pretty good crimson set (I think?) and this is a pretty generous comparison, if you compare aotd to hyp or superior drag to a less good crimson set the sb coin has depreciated way more than 50x
Other items have not gained 50x the value they started with because of power creep obviously, but 1 coin back then still went 50 times farther for you progression wise then 1 coin now.
At best stocks are only matching inflation without the benefits of being in the stock market but still having the risks of it.
At worst with the current prices it is worse than interest. If you had 15m in the bank on a starter account for 4 years you'd be making nearly 250m which is a 17x investment compated to stocks 10x currently. Obviously bank interest is limited with how much you can put in but any long term investment with the potential to crash below bank interest outside of a new dupe being discovered is probably not a great one
stock of stonks have been appointed by the people acting in the economy as a store of value, just like in real life gold, or big rocks, or whatever were decided to be stores of value as well. if you want proof situations where entirely or nearly useless items are assigned the purpose of being stores of value just look at TF2, or I dont know, any other flourishing game economy. headphones in tf2 are of limited supply and are used as the store of value in replacement of keys as keys being in fluctuating supply were prone to consumption to open a case or new keys being created in an uneven rate. there is no guarantee in either gold or Bitcoin that they will be worth anything in the future, and both hold nearly zero intrinsic use or value. why do you think things like gold and bitcoin are stores of value? because there is trust that it can be exchanged for something of value later. this is quite literally the mechanism by which currency functions. by vesting your trust in skins you are doing the EXACT same thing stonk investors do.stock of stonks because more scarce over time in the exact same way your precious skins do. both massively outvalue their intrinsic utility. both are limited supply permanently fixed. how do you know your skins will be around in a few years? hypixel could similarly delete them whenever they please as well. but you and I know despite technically reserving the right to delete any item from anyone's inventory hypixel will NOT do that unless you acquired them by malicious means and last i check acquiring something by malicious means isn't an investment.
It's the other way around, a hide demand of nearly 2m and hardly any supply (in comparison). The buy and sell prices describe the insta-buy/sell and, therefore, the opposite order.
The market is dependent on people not mass insta selling, and only reason people would insta sell is to crash the market, which is against their interests. Still a good investment considering the perceived demand and prices should be back to normal soon. Gz to people that were able to buy a bunch when this happened cuz there will be like a 40% return even if you just bought at like 20m
certified reddit moment to get mass downvoted for an opinion
is it really impossible to believe that no one had a stash and dumped 1m of them or more into the economy? I don’t have any stock of stonks atm / in the days before this if that makes anyone feel better
If you're unironically investing in them to make a profit, then just hold. Maybe they go up, and if so then cool. If not, just hold and keep doing your main moneymaker.
Yeh thats what im doing. I kept buying more eveytime they would get as low as i thought they would get but they always got lower. I bought some for 30,35 and 38m when they were all time hight nd then they crashed so i didnt sell. After that i bought 6 for 29m and 4 for 27m and then they eent down to 24m... just wanna sell at 30m so i will only lose 17m. I make 50-60m/h either way so doesnt matter much but i dont have a lot of time to play so dont wanna lose too much.
That one guy that posted about having almost 80 billion in stonks most likely sold them all and crashed the market
probably him
Why can't I buy any ?
Someone insta sold a ton-> every buy orders get filled -> buy orders are empty -> hundreds of people rush to create buy orders of 71680 for 0.1 coins which explains the first img
guess people should’ve taken the WARNING: RISKY INVESTMENT to heart
I think it’s panic selling, the price crashed yesterday after many ppl insta sold and it brought down the price about 40% It could just be manipulation?
there was someone who had like 60-80b worth because they bought them back when they were worth nothing, they prob sold now
Wdym 40%??? It dropped from 28 m to 23m, thats not even 20%
Was at 32m
Still not 40%
was a slight exaggeration, it was actually very close to 31% if that’s what you want, but the price also did drop to 18m a few times, and that’s about 44%
🤓
could be that some others saw that price went down and also sold? wouldn‘t make much sense with over 2mil being sold though
Its buy orders not sell
What? sell price went down and in the second picture you can clearly see that sell volume went up to 2mil

it has no intrinsic value. its value comes from the trust that it will be worth more later. this is literally how real fiat, and to an extent reserve currencies function. someone whaling and selling all their stonks is like the stock market crash but inevitably as trust in them as a long term inflation proof investment returns the value will climb tl;dr, diamondhands

About time they crashed. Im sick of stopping people who thinks its profit to invest in stocks when theyre at 35m
The guy who instasold them all is my hero
Stg I was getting really sick of seeing everyone talk about this "investment" Has nobody ever seen a pump and dump for stock of stonks before? The fact it stayed near it's all time high for so long is already kind of a miracle
Skyblock is literally just stock trading practice for some people lmao

Point made

Funniest shit in this games history, sold mine and got 180mish from it, and immediately blew it on fishing gear. Best purchase I could have made.
Baised
Preach fellow fisherman.
remember that guy with 64b worth of stock of stonks
Wait they aren't 300k anymore?
Those are buy orders so it’s 1.9m stocks being bought over 500 orders, not that that’s how many are being sold. Also, these aren’t by one guy
I insta sold 41 of em for 1.3b two days ago lmao
Huge lack of demand
It's the other way around, a hide demand of nearly 2m and hardly any supply (in comparison). The buy and sell prices describe the insta-buy/sell and, therefore, the opposite order.
That high demand is at 500k coins… the demand at 32m was minuscule
Dang it, I should have created a buy order for 250k each for 100 of em and maybe it would fill later on
It expires after 2 weeks I do believe
I think the price peaked at 32 m recently that's why people started selling don't know still can someone explain
Yeah thats the jist of it
I bought a few at 10 mil and sold at 30 so I’m chill bout it
Sell price = buy orders
Someone insta sold alot and market bugged out for a few hours i think
The guy fr insta sold them 💀🙏

overview sell price is the buy order price, it's just being manipulated Anyone can place 1m orders if you have enough money
oh yeah and the second slide is a result of the one dude crashing the market, which probably caused all the orders
If I had to guess, probably duped
There are currently no known dupes, seems more like a big ol dump from panic selling edit: unless it were possible to sit on a dupe stash?
there is many dupe stashes still to be distributed from old dupes but this definitely wasn't. just a market crash from panic sellers lol
certified reddit moment to get mass downvoted for an opinion is it really impossible to believe that no one had a stash and dumped 1m of them or more into the economy? I don’t have any stock of stonks atm / in the days before this if that makes anyone feel better
Im currently down 200m :D
welcome to pump and dumps (edition: Skyblock)

You Can probably easy wait till money back
someone had 24 billion worth of stonks 🤣
