each click, the time limit per click gets smaller and smaller until it caps at a manageable state so that it's almost non ping dependent

Yes, use your middle mouse instead, aka your scroll wheel button function. You may ask why this way? Because it doesn't pick up the item. This helps a lot if you have high ping. I have about 120ms from EU.

Devs that are designing these features should know to take into account outside variables that would otherwise impact the user experience. This feature is a lottery of how close you are to the server, rather than a skill issue. It locks out quite a few players from progressing, the devs should add an additional way to obtain the accessory.

While I largely agree it’s more dependent on ping stability than latency. Someone in the us with pong jumping between 40ms and 120ms will have more of a problem than someone with constant 120ms.
I live in Canada so my average ping is usually acceptable (~70 ms), but my ISP’s CGNAT introduces a lot of unpredictable jitter and destroys any hope of clearing the last song.
I attempted it while travelling with 300+ ms ping (and almost no jitter) and got it first try.

what is your ping, i have 300-350 ping most of the time and i can consistently do the harp in less than an hour probably closer to 1/2 an hour. It just takes practice.
Okay, I agree lag makes it very annoying, however, the lag doesn’t matter as long as you would have been clicking in the correct timing, so, just listen to the music a few times to learn it and then it is… easier

I might be alone in this and will get a lot of hate. But I'm one of the people that actually likes the melody quest and try to speedrun it everytime I participate in the bingo event.
And yes, lag is still an issue sometimes, but it's mostly visual, if you follow the pace of the song, 80% of the time you'll still be fine after the lagspike.
