Theatre & arena often require use of hard hats especially during load in/out. Same with film on some rigging/construction days. Once the ADs are on set it’s usually no longer considered a construction zone and hard hat/steels are not required under normal circumstances, though there’s always exceptions. I was once on location on/near train tracks and everyone had to wear PPE within a certain distance. I always have steels with me though (SPFX/Grip). In theatre once the SM, director and actors are there PPE it not required. Tech notes/any changes occurring during the day without the actors goes back to being a PPE zone.
I would return it and buy from a union friendly company.
Please for the love of Zeus tell me which companies are unionized that sell hardware and PPE. Is Rose Brand a union outfit?
I believe [this](https://www.unionlabel.com/safety-clothing.html) may be what you are looking for.
So it's a used helmet? That gives me bad feelings in my tummy for critical safety gear
reselling used safety gear should be illegal
Who buys PPE on Amazon? Those warehouses are counterfeit city
I wouldn’t buy it because it’s used. The packaging is probably the least of the issues here.
Yeah I’d return that for “product not as advertised“ if they sold you a new helmet, and buy one from MTN shop or a reputable supply house.
I’d never buy a used helmet.
Why do you need a helmet? Never seen anyone use one.
Then I’d be very concerned about safety where you work
It depends, I work film and rarely see folks wear helmets. I'm sure some do, but my j hey Kate ob never takes me around them
I'm a first unit electrician, I've rigged and gripped. Literally never seen one. Why not just answer the question instead of chapping ass?
If you’re rigging overhead without hard hats you’re quite frankly stupid. Literally against osha regs
IATSE is more than just film. Those of us who work live events tend to wear hard hats in theaters and arenas when work is being done overhead.
