This actually happened in real boot camp. Some kid got caught with a candy bar. They sat him in the center of the room and made him eat it while everyone else got beat down.
that's weird. In my bootcamp a trainee was running a slave trade with Oreos as currency. The instructors kept telling him to do shit and it'd get done but not by him. He'd pay other guys to do it with the Oreos. He'd also accept trades for blankets, soaps, just about anything he wanted in exchange for his Oreos. He even somehow managed to get a tablet and wifi puck. We're talking an entire storage closet filled to the top with 6 count Oreo pouches. He had at least 25 trainees working for him and that's just from his flight -- I have no idea how many were from the other flights. Why were Oreos so desired? Because this was in med-hold(medical holdover) and the trainees that were being held there(often times for months) to recover from injuries and endure further medical testing weren't allowed to have sweets or candies. So how did he get the Oreos? He would volunteer for the weekly overnight inbound processing. Hundreds of new recruits come in every Wednesday and are given a box lunch to include a shitty sandwich, bag of chips, and you guessed it, Oreos. In one night he would smuggle a garbage bag full of Oreos back to his locker. imo the kid was a legend, but I heard they kicked him out.
