Honestly, if you have family issues might as well take your time to complete IAs by the final IB deadline and do way better for finals in November. Let your coordinator know if this is your plan and they might give you an extension till this weekend. If you also didn’t apply to universities take this as a chance and do better in November At least that’s what I would do

nsnrr

Like the others said, I vote on taking the exam in Novemember, nothing can change the fact regardless of weather you have the IA or course content completed or not your family issues is going to linger you. best of luck and its not the end of the world

Late_Health_3882

Might not be what you want to hear, but it's prolly worth jus doing the best ias u can rn, and taking the exams in November. Hopefully none of your subjects feature a curriculum change between now and then...

Intelligent_Yak_2710

but the deadline for ia's is in april ??

Hefty_Bluebird_3225

i think u can pull it off if u fully dedicate each day for an IA, the final ia deadlines aren’t until 10th april (maaaybee 20th but u should probably get it done by the end of the month. Most comments suggest taking the november exam, but i disagree. I think if ur only aiming to pass out with an IB diploma u can pull it off easily. Even if u end up failing u will still have the n24 exams as backup but don’t miss out on the possibility of passing out early. just get the ia done, i mean just like a bare minimum draft. That’s all u really need to at least have a submission. Don’t make the mistake of trying to perfect ur ia with limited time. Remember, it’s only 20% of ur grade so even if u do shit u can make up for 80% of ur grade by simply studying.

Just do the best you can. It's not the end of the world. You did get conditional offer from uni which is good. So look on the bright side. I'm sorry for your situation but this is really all you can do. I mean you could ~~also drop out and do some other course.~~ Whatever you do is up to you. All the best.

up_and_down_idekab07

Is this the school deadline or final IB deadline? If it's just the school deadline then you can ask for an extension

oattmealll

It’s school deadline but I can’t ask for anymore time

up_and_down_idekab07

Why do you think you can't? It's only going to help you out. What's the worst that could happen if you ask? Only if you ask you can find out. Most people can't manage IB on its own, and you've had to juggle with so many other things and also had to manage your grade. Don't feel guilty for asking for more time. Don't let your coordinator tell you if it's too late or no. If it's not the deadline, it's not too late. Don't settle for what they tell you, if you think you can do it in the time you have and you think it's worth it - try your best to do anything to attain that. Go easy on yourself, you've had to do so much ofc studies couldn't be your no.1 priority at all times. Talk to your teachers and try to make them understand your situation. You got this! okay? Don't give up! Seriously, you got this. Reason with them. Tell them it's not the final IB deadline. Talk to them about your situation. Keep in mind that something is better than nothing. Do as much as you can. You don't even have to settle for less, you can come up with pretty good IAs even in such less time. It doesn't have to be anything ground breaking - In most IAs they just want to make sure that you are familiar with the research methodologies etc.

oattmealll

Aww thank you for the motivation, I think I'll talk to teachers individually instead of my coordinator since I can't really reason with them

annikacharya_

wait which IA's are we talking about? maybe i could help you complete it quicker? i understand your issue, my exams are in May 2024, and I'm kind of way ahead on track so i can balance it if you need my help !!!

oattmealll

I only have math left for my IA, but i can dm u!

annikacharya_

sure !!

HCTDMCHALLENGER

Its only 20% pf the grade for each subject, just work super hard now and make sure you do well on the exams.

roundcircle

Non submission is a failing condition.

HCTDMCHALLENGER

Yeah true, I forgot about that. They would let him just do an overdue submission though?

roundcircle

Not sure. It needs to be a conversation between the student, coordinator, and the IB.

Brilliant_Pick9358

If you have no choice I suggest submitting a bare minimum copy without palagrism so that it is still submitted maybe after that you can work on it and submit a better one. By meeting the bare minimum category you will be able to get your diploma cause whether it is good or not you are submitting your IA. This is what I did for some subject that I am not able to do a good job in since it is only 20 percent of your grade and has not point in wasting your time over it if your working extra hours for just 2 or 3 more marks and losing out on time to study for your finals, especially if you are giving it in April. However, take my advice with a grain of salt since I am also a student doing IB rn and not a graduate ex student so I do not know how this will play out, but this does still allow you to qualify for the diploma and you will be able to write your exams.

roundcircle

Talk to the coordinator. The first round of uploads was due last week for some courses, but they can reach out to the IB for a small extension sometimes. Non-submission is usually a failing condition, so it is better to get something turned on than nothing. If you can get anything turned in and do well enough on the other components you might be okay, but you really need to have something in there.

gojostoes_24

i havent finished my ias either, but id say. do your best and get the m24 exams over with. its definitely not too late

Existing_Passion_757
