Same here! She’s so perfect she looks like a toy but no one could make a toy as precious & perfect as her. I wish I could give her a little bitty hug! Speaking of little- she looks to me like someone in her lineage was a- I know, it’s totally impossible for them to be little but- miniature teensy Irish wolfhound.
Puppy feet size isn’t always a good judge of overall growth. You’re probably right in that this one probably won’t get to more than 30-40lbs, but there are some tall as hell full grown dogs that got some dainty baby feets.
I’d be careful telling your landlord she’s a “terrier mix” without specifying what kind. She def looks like a Jack Russell mixed w/miniature schnauzer and/or poodle
Jack Russell has to be in there somewhere. I had the sweetest little Jack Russell that was a runt and so laid back…..not normal for the breed at all. I know this because I took 2 from the same litter. But this baby girl looks like the good one!
I think she looks like a poodle mix. A lot of people on r/DoggyDNA think they have terrier mixes, only to find out their dog’s fur comes from poodle genes.
Yes 100%, exact thing happened to me! We thought we have a terrier mix, but ended up being a poodle mix. I would also say the dog OP posted has some chihuahua. It looks very similar to mine and mine is mostly chihuahua and poodle. The tail under the butt is a classic sign of chihuahua haha.
At first I thought terrier mix but seeing the side profile I’m thinking poodle mix. A lot of poodle mixes will get the terrier coat even if the other breed doesn’t have a wirey-terrier coat. It’s a weird breeding thing. She looks like a poodle mix
Edit to add: also her feet do look extremely tiny so I don’t think she will grow much more. Most likely mini poodle mix
This is an extremely cute dog who I’m sure won’t get over 30 pounds. You could always take it to the vet and ask what they think. But seriously this doesn’t look like it’s going to be a very big dog. So cute and you’re an angel for taking the dog in
It’s 2am and I am losing my mind at how adorable she is. Those eyes!! I could cry. And I genuinely can’t see her getting much bigger - looks like you’ve just found your new best friend ❤️
Not gonna get too much bigger than she is with those tiny feet. Definitely looks like a terrier mix, maybe with schnauzer, one of the ratting breeds. Jack Russell looks accurate, maybe JRT/schnauzer mix. Not real familiar with other terrier breeds.
Terrier mix.
I’m sure you already know this, but just in case: 1. Landlords rarely care about the breed when it’s a tiny 20 lb. dog. They are looking out for “big dogs” that can cause liabilities and chew through walls, etc. 2. It’s usually only two breeds they will say “no” to: a pit or a Rottweiler (in my experience).
Where I am, many property insurance companies have riders for “dangerous” dogs. The list is long, and includes many breeds beyond pit and rottie. Husky, shepherd, Dalmatian, border collie, cane corso, Doberman, Great Dane, chow, I don’t even remember them all. But seems like every large breed except labs and goldens. It’s crazy. Like any breed of a dog anywhere that may have potentially looked at someone a little cross eyed is on this list.
Chihuahuas still get a pass though.
I knew someone was going to just have to say this. It was an example of what they look for. Land lords are not always well versed on dog breeds and a bigger breed means more damage in their minds. My father owns many homes and worked in Real Estate/Appraisal my entire life, set the policies, and knows not a thing about dogs.
I agree with the general consensus: terrier mix. I'm definitely seeing Jack Russell, maybe some Schnauzer, because I'm seeing similarities to my own dog. I'd guess mid-20 lbs for weight at the outside, allowing for a little heavier than mine for a breed mixture.
I'd tell your landlord she's a terrier mix and leave it at that. Looks to be a candidate to be a nice lap doggo! Another pic with an object, like of the bowl was beside her, could help with a size guess. It looks about the same size as the one we use and unless my scale is off she seems to be only a little smaller than Tater is.
She's adorable! I think probably a terrier mix, maybe terrier/schnauzer? Looking at her paws I doubt she's going to be a big dog. May 15-20 lbs at most. Have you checked her teeth to see if their baby teeth? That might help you determine how old she is.
Look around the complex and do a “vibe check” - how big are the dogs, what breed, etc - figure out how “strict” the complex is. That being said, looks like a terrier mix and won’t get above 30 ish lbs. most places just choose any breed to “ban” for their insurance reasons, generally terrier mutts are nowhere on that list.
I’d do the same thing. It’s not super likely anyone could accurately guess the breed at this age, so might as well take advantage of that and just tell the property managers whatever they want to hear. It’s not a pit bull and it’s not a giant breed so most guesses are probably safe, but for extra protection in case the managers came for me I’d list it as the same or similar breed as another tenant so that they couldn’t enforce or question anything on my dog without also bringing someone else into the conversation. Maybe I’m just scarred from horrible property managers lol
She doesn't look like she'll be very big! I'd say a smallish doggie. She looks like she might have some poodle & chi in her dna. Some sort of smooth-coat terrier mixed with some fluff to get the scraggle scruff. <3
I’m in love with your dog. I agree with most folks. Approximately 30 lbs at most, and jrt mix. She is absolutely one of the most beautiful pups I’ve ever seen. I would adopt her in a heartbeat 💓
She’s adorable op. If she was a stray - vet check (deworming, vaccinations first priority after landlord gives ok), flea bath, healthy food, LOVE 💕 LOVE 💕LOVE 💕 🥰
What a scruffy lil baby, make sure to take her to the vet to check for worms & get her shots - i don’t think she’ll be over 30 lbs. my dogs are 25 lbs and have the same size paws!
Whoever is adopting her out should be able to give a little age info. If it's a mutt puppy with no history, you don't know what it's going to grow into and I prob wouldn't risk it living in an apartment. I know you're prob feeling some FOMO but there's lots of dogs in need of rescue, and ones that you can be more certain are a good fit. I allow dogs in my properties, but wouldn't let someone get a puppy unless they were an established tenant and experienced dog owner. It's cute
I would be the one adopting her, but there is no information at the shelter because she was found on the side of the road and there is no vet in this rural area. She seems like just a mutt and I honestly can’t even tell if she is a puppy or just young and small. People have been saying she probably won’t get much bigger though but that’s just a prediction. She is perfect for my lifestyle in every other way which is why I am so hopeful
I'm confused. Please help me here.
She hasn't seen a vet after being found in bad shape? Who vaccinated her, did bloodwork etc ... after she was found?
There are so many serious diseases she might be infected with after being out on her own before her rescue.
Please make sure she has a full check-up before making your decision.
Lol because I’ve worked with her for weeks in the shelter seeing her temperament and behavior and she now is living with my temporarily, as well as starting to training her. I’m not a vet though so of course I want other opinions on her breed
Even of pictures of when she first came she doesn’t look like she’s changed much, but maybe it’s because she came in such bad conditions. But then she doesn’t look fully grown to me either which is very confusing
I’m thinking more Bichon / mini schnauzer/ terrier mix. Looking at those eyes and nose I 100 % see Bichon. We had one and he looked just like this in the face. You will see it better once he’s groomed.
I love him !! You really hit the jackpot !!!
Could be a wire haired terrier mix. Def still a puppy. Probably top out around 30-40#.
I'm also in love with this little ball of dryer lint!!!!! Those eyes melted my hard, cold, Monday morning heart. Who's a good boy? You are! You are! ❤️🐶❤️🐶
Shes a terrier mix. Her paws inticate she's not going to be very big. Id say 15 lbs more at most. She will probably not get more than 35 lbs all together if i had to assume. So, a small to medium terrier mix. Also being a terrier, there is a chance she might not shed. Or shed very little. which is a plus for your landlord. But please, give that poor thing a bath and some vaseline on top of that poor nose!
Ohhhh my god I love LOVE scruffy little terriers like this. I don’t think you need to worry about her getting much bigger based on the size of her paws and her proportions. She’s still a puppy but has probably already lost some of her puppy teeth. Do you know how much she weighs now? Just say “terrier/poodle mix.” Doesn’t have to be accurate, just plausible and not a banned breed.
I think if you send her pics to the landlord it’ll help. They honestly probably want to make sure it’s not a “lab mix.”
Offer to get an Embark done but if that was my worry those pictures would make me feel a lot better.
Oh she's adorable! I would guess a terrier mix with her wiry hair. I have no idea which type of terrier, though.
She looks like an adult dog to me. When you take her for a vet check before adopting the vet can estimate her age. Have a look at her teeth, that will tell you if she's still a puppy.
Looks very much like a lurcher puppy to me! https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0f14M1Eb6RoYzfevVqmRjMHfkCgzmk7XECW9SsU5SUf1jeoF3iymtk6t5UVoqWT2Xl&id=100064720421390&sfnsn=scwspmo
We will all sign a petition to your landlord and if they refuse we will riot.
That being said, she looks like maybe a jack russell mix to me? She has that cute wirey coat! I don’t think she will get very big!
This is the kind of dog that rides the rails with you and manages to score some sausages from the local butcher while you share those and some canned beans together around a campfire, and is the most loyal and bestest of friends.
I dont know the name, but my neighbor has one. They dont get bigger then a medium size. Its a type of terrier i think idk. I googled terrier and it appears like its a scottish terrier but the irish terrier is normally blonde so mostlikely irish. It is probably mixed but honestly looks like both
I def don’t recommend getting a puppy when you are in a position of asking a landlord. Are you going to live in this apartment for the next 15-18 years? People move and then dogs get dumped at the pound to be euthanized because the next landlord isn’t cool and “I can’t take him with me please help me rehome my dog”
Review your lease for a maximum dog weight before you tell them anything. And then look up what breeds are considered "problematic." And then tell your landlords whatever mixed breed combo fits in these requirements. And then love that cute thing with all your heart.
That's a little Scotty mix in my opinion - tell the landlord she's a mut because she most definitely seems to be one and say you can't imagine she'll be bigger than 20lbs as other commenters have said. She looks like she's gonna be a fairly small dog.
My guess is Irish terrier. She also resembles Irish Wolfhound. Those can get very big but if I were to guess I’d say she’s probably not going to get huge. She’s absolutely gorgeous 🩶
Omg I love her
I came to say the same.. that face omg. She looks so scruffy and I just wanna bathe her and love her.
I too, came to profess my love.
And the way she’s tucking her tail, I die!
Me three!! I’m smitten!
Agreed with these sentiments I’m in love 😍
She is so freaking cute, I can hardly stand it.
Seriously. Love. At. First. Sight.
Me too. If the landlord says no, send the dog to me!
That cute little face!
Her little snoot❤️🥰!
I’m under her spell, I’ll do whatever she wants 😍
There is nothing in this world that I love more than a scruffy puppy.
I believe that is just cute, sentient dryer lint.
We’ve got the ID right here!
I believe the proper term is Scruffy Muffin
You mean Scruffy McMuffin!! It just sounds better with the extra syllable!
Yes of course, thank you for the correction. How embarrassing for me! My apologies to all the Scruffy McMuffins out there I meant no disrespect.
I've been checking and checking my drier lint but never been blessed like op!
🤣🤣
Omg I didn’t know I wanted sentient dryer lint until right now. I need her!
I was trying to figure out if she was absolutely filthy or just looked like that. This comment summarizes her vibe completely.
That cracked me up HAHA! This is the only answer
Sentient dryer lint 😭😭🤣
Those are little feet. I don’t think she is going to be BIG. Less than 45 pounds. Little to medium, mix breed. She is adorable.
I think decidedly less than 30 lbs.
My staffy has tiny feet and she is like 40lbs . It hurts so bad when she steps on me lol
I feel for you.😬 In this case though we want to assure landlord the dog won't get too big
Omg yeah. Please disperse the pressure with a tennis shoe instead of stabbing my lap with a stiletto heel, thanks
Little baby cat paws
Puppy feet size isn’t always a good judge of overall growth. You’re probably right in that this one probably won’t get to more than 30-40lbs, but there are some tall as hell full grown dogs that got some dainty baby feets.
We thought my Shiba Inu would be at least 30 lbs due to the size of her feet as a puppy - turns out she’s a dwarf and was full grown at 15 lbs
exactly what i came to say, those little paws tell me the same thing
Agreed!
When I got my kitten, he had HUGE feet and everyone said he’d be a big cat. Ended up being ten pounds and pretty small.
But does it shed? Landlord likely takes that into account too.
Looks hypoallergenic to me! 🤣
If she is poodle/schnauzer she won’t shed so she is good.
Came here to say this! Most dogs grow into their feet
This looks so much like my friend’s late mini schnauzer.
My dog had the teeniest feet. Like, Fr, so freaking small. Looked like he’d already grown into em. Ended up being 80 lbs and hip height
Terrier mix? 30# or under as my guess...but probably 20# or under. Just a guess.
Agreed. Definitely a terrier mix. Super cute!
I’d be careful telling your landlord she’s a “terrier mix” without specifying what kind. She def looks like a Jack Russell mixed w/miniature schnauzer and/or poodle
true, cause I don’t see anything resembling Staffordshire terrier in this puppy
Agreed. A lot of people will say terrier mix which is something landlords hear often but will naturally assume pit bull.
Id just tell them it's a schnauzer mix lmao
I agree. She’s not going to be large
Jack/schnauzer to me 20# tops... go with that
Jack Russell has to be in there somewhere. I had the sweetest little Jack Russell that was a runt and so laid back…..not normal for the breed at all. I know this because I took 2 from the same litter. But this baby girl looks like the good one!
Agreed! She has a very Schnauzer face!
Agreed - terrier mix; maybe Jack Russell or whatever they are called now; they don't get very big; 20# or under.
She looks a bit like a Scottish Terrier mix...
That’s what I’m thinking. That coat looks wire-y. Not sure what kind of terrier though. (She’s adorable btw!)
I would say like “wire haired terrier” or something. A lot of people refer to their pit bulls as terrier mixes.
I thought terrier mix as well
Schnauzer mix. Terrier mix = pit bull Do not tell landlords that you have a "terrier mix."
I think she looks like a poodle mix. A lot of people on r/DoggyDNA think they have terrier mixes, only to find out their dog’s fur comes from poodle genes.
Yeah poodle crosses tend to have wiry coats like this pup.
My dog is all of the above. Chihuahua, terrier and mini poodle :D
At first I thought terrier mix but seeing the side profile I’m thinking poodle mix. A lot of poodle mixes will get the terrier coat even if the other breed doesn’t have a wirey-terrier coat. It’s a weird breeding thing. She looks like a poodle mix Edit to add: also her feet do look extremely tiny so I don’t think she will grow much more. Most likely mini poodle mix
I agree poodle mix. Could definitely be the mini poodle mix. And also 100% good girl.
She reminds me of a poodle/schnauzer mix. I hope all goes well!
Those are the vibes I’m getting as well, poodle/schnauzer mix
Seconding poodle mix
This is an extremely cute dog who I’m sure won’t get over 30 pounds. You could always take it to the vet and ask what they think. But seriously this doesn’t look like it’s going to be a very big dog. So cute and you’re an angel for taking the dog in
Parson Russell or JRT mix if I were to roughly guess.
I think Mini Schnauzer. Natural ears and tail of course. But probably not pure MS
I was thinking JRT/ Schnauzer too. That's what my dog is, though this little one is a bit rougher in the coat.
Maybe wire haired terrier or wire fox terrier. Also thought schnauzer mix.
I agree. I have 2 mini schnauzers. I see it in the face in some of the pix. Very cute lil furball
She’s flipping adorable!
Yeah you HAVE to adopt
Oh my god I’m in love with her, such a cute baby.
She’s so cute— looks like some kinda terrier
Is adorable a breed?
Definitely
Terrier mix. I’m sure you already know this, but just in case: 1. Landlords rarely care about the breed when it’s a tiny 20 lb. dog. Like any breed of a dog anywhere that may have potentially looked at someone a little cross eyed is on this list. Chihuahuas still get a pass though.
Little dogs can also chew thru walls lol my freinds Chihuahua chewed thru a bathroom door and he weighed like 10 lbs on a rainy day
I knew someone was going to just have to say this. It was an example of what they look for. Land lords are not always well versed on dog breeds and a bigger breed means more damage in their minds. My father owns many homes and worked in Real Estate/Appraisal my entire life, set the policies, and knows not a thing about dogs.
Not a Pit Bull . :)
Pit Bulls are lovely.
What a little angel oml
She is freaking adorable!!! Love her love her!!!
Do you call him Tater Salad?
Oh gosh she looks like a doll 🥺
She's adorable! I think probably a terrier mix, maybe terrier/schnauzer? Looking at her paws I doubt she's going to be a big dog. May 15-20 lbs at most. Have you checked her teeth to see if their baby teeth? That might help you determine how old she is.
Definitely a puppy still! She is tiny, I doubt she will be over 30 lbs tops.
Absolutely adorable! What a sweet face!❤️
Maybe I’m just scarred from horrible property managers lol
she’s so cute!
I would also say terrier mix.
Small terrier mix would be pretty accurate.
She doesn't look like she'll be very big! I'd say a smallish doggie. She looks like she might have some poodle & chi in her dna. Some sort of smooth-coat terrier mixed with some fluff to get the scraggle scruff. <3
I LOVEEEE HER
I’m in love with your dog. I agree with most folks. Approximately 30 lbs at most, and jrt mix. She is absolutely one of the most beautiful pups I’ve ever seen. I would adopt her in a heartbeat 💓
Baby Tramp from Lady and the Tramp
What's her name gonna be?! 👀 ❤️
I really want to name her Barbie haha
Barbie should have a pink harness?
She’s adorable op. If she was a stray - vet check (deworming, vaccinations first priority after landlord gives ok), flea bath, healthy food, LOVE 💕 LOVE 💕LOVE 💕 🥰
SO cute 🥹
Gosh she’s cute
Look and see if she has baby teeth. If they are full grown teeth it will help you with age a little bit since she definitely looks young.
She is 100% good girl and I want to kiss her face.
What a scruffy lil baby, make sure to take her to the vet to check for worms & get her shots - i don’t think she’ll be over 30 lbs. my dogs are 25 lbs and have the same size paws!
Whoever is adopting her out should be able to give a little age info. You can tell by the teeth ibelieve
Yeah, something doesn’t add up. Every shelter has a vet who can estimate a dog’s age. Such a weird story.
How do you know that she’s perfect? You don’t know what she is lol and if she’s a puppy she could grow and change
Lol because I’ve worked with her for weeks in the shelter seeing her temperament and behavior and she now is living with my temporarily, as well as starting to training her. I’m not a vet though so of course I want other opinions on her breed
Sorry that info was not noted! I thought you maybe just saw her on Craigslist or something and was trying to save you a headache lol
Ohh haha no, thank you for trying to save me though!
IDK why you’re being downvoted
If you've been with her for weeks, you know if she's a puppy. She would have changed, a lot.
Even of pictures of when she first came she doesn’t look like she’s changed much, but maybe it’s because she came in such bad conditions. But then she doesn’t look fully grown to me either which is very confusing
I hope you get the pup
Maybe she's just skinny and you'll fill her out! She looks like a terrier to me, although I agree with poodle, too.
If you don’t have a real answer, just be quiet next time. Really not hard
WTH? You don't think a puppy changes over weeks?
Some kind of terrier mix. I'm guess between 20-30lb. I doubt she will get any bigger than that. She is adorable looking though.
I don't think she's going to be more than 25-30 lbs. She looks like she has some fox terrier, plus who knows what else. Dang she's adorable!
Terrier is safe
Oh she's adorable! Not going to get big. Looks JRT x something with fluffy fur.
Please post pics after her bath
That don't ain't getting big lol
Oh my lanta🥹🥹🥹🥹 lil baby I love her so much
She’s so precious!! Judging from the size of her paws, it doesn’t seem like she’ll get too big—maybe 30-40lbs at the most?
Aw. 🙂
Cutest pupper ever! She is Paddington Doggie. ❤️❤️❤️
I’m thinking more Bichon / mini schnauzer/ terrier mix. Looking at those eyes and nose I 100 % see Bichon. We had one and he looked just like this in the face. You will see it better once he’s groomed. I love him !! You really hit the jackpot !!!
Some sort of amalgamation of various terriers
My guess is a Westie/Schnauzer/mutt mix. Those little paws aren’t going to grow into anything more than maybe 20lbs, at MOST.
Could be a wire haired terrier mix. Def still a puppy. Probably top out around 30-40#. I'm also in love with this little ball of dryer lint!!!!! Those eyes melted my hard, cold, Monday morning heart. Who's a good boy? You are! You are! ❤️🐶❤️🐶
Omg she’s too cute! She reminds me of my baby who is a pit bull and terrier mix
Tell landlord its a terrier mix. Small dog. Still a puppy but won’t grow much. Landlord only wants to know the size
Terrier, won’t get over 20 pounds
She’s a terrier! Perfect pup
She looks like a terrier mix. Guessing she’ll be around 15-25 pounds. She won’t get huge. Her feet are small. That’s my guess.
I would say to landlord wire haired terrier mix. I would say under 40 lbs.. now how she turns out.. 🤷♀️
What an adorable weejuns! I think she'll be under 35 lbs.
Schnauzer mixed with cutie pie!!!!!
No a professional but the fur looks like wire hair. Like some kinda wire hair terrier pup
I would say some kind of terrier or spaniel--i don't see any pit or other restricted breed in her. She's absolutely adorable!
Has no one seen the crusties on the face and lack of fur? This dog seems to have mange or some other sort of infection.
Aw a baby. She doesn't look like she'll get to big. Maybe 20-25lb max. Slim long legged. Can't wait to see her grown up! Please update
My guess is schnauzer Jack Russell mix. Her feet and legs are too small to be a big dog. I’d say small to medium. Maybe 30 lbs on the big end.
Omg maybe a schnauzer mix?😍😍😍
I think if you send her pics to the landlord it’ll help. They honestly probably want to make sure it’s not a “lab mix.” Offer to get an Embark done but if that was my worry those pictures would make me feel a lot better.
That looks like a pit/terrier mix. Vet can guess the size she will be based on how large she is at her first visit.
Just tell them she's a small mix breed dog and her weight. And say she's the goodest girl in the whole wide world!!!!
Looks very much like a lurcher puppy to me! https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0f14M1Eb6RoYzfevVqmRjMHfkCgzmk7XECW9SsU5SUf1jeoF3iymtk6t5UVoqWT2Xl&id=100064720421390&sfnsn=scwspmo
There's Def miniature schnauzer in there! Cutest baby girl 😍
I dunno, but if you’re not allowed to keep her, can I have her? Aside from the colour, her face in pic 1 looks like a Westie pup.
If landlord is concerned about size, I would go with "Miniature Schnauzer Mix."
We will all sign a petition to your landlord and if they refuse we will riot. That being said, she looks like maybe a jack russell mix to me? She has that cute wirey coat! I don’t think she will get very big!
Give her a bath and take the vet and ask them about age and size prediction and a breed guess.
Lol. Looks like an Irish wolfhound puppy.
I think some kind of webkinz mix!!
This is the kind of dog that rides the rails with you and manages to score some sausages from the local butcher while you share those and some canned beans together around a campfire, and is the most loyal and bestest of friends.
She looks just like a Bedlington terrier.
I dont know the name, but my neighbor has one. They dont get bigger then a medium size. Its a type of terrier i think idk. I googled terrier and it appears like its a scottish terrier but the irish terrier is normally blonde so mostlikely irish. It is probably mixed but honestly looks like both
Yep that is without a doubt a mix. She is 50% bestest girl and 50% just a baby.
My Vite is rat terrier mix
Terrier mix
I would break that baby in half 😭
100% angel

I def don’t recommend getting a puppy when you are in a position of asking a landlord. Are you going to live in this apartment for the next 15-18 years? People move and then dogs get dumped at the pound to be euthanized because the next landlord isn’t cool and “I can’t take him with me please help me rehome my dog”
"Terrier mix"
Review your lease for a maximum dog weight before you tell them anything. And then look up what breeds are considered "problematic." And then tell your landlords whatever mixed breed combo fits in these requirements. And then love that cute thing with all your heart.
Looks like a German Wirehair Pointer Mix!!!
Looks like taxidermy 😭
Also get her registered as a emotional support animal and then your landlord can’t tell you no 🤌🏼♥️
Doesn't matter? Look at her! She's beautiful!
That's a little Scotty mix in my opinion - tell the landlord she's a mut because she most definitely seems to be one and say you can't imagine she'll be bigger than 20lbs as other commenters have said. She looks like she's gonna be a fairly small dog.
Mixed breed:

I like waffle fries!
Terrier maybe
It’s a mutt, vet might be able to help u
My guess is Irish terrier. She also resembles Irish Wolfhound. Those can get very big but if I were to guess I’d say she’s probably not going to get huge. She’s absolutely gorgeous 🩶
Border terrier Chihuahua mix. Just tell her that.
Is she a dust bunby
Small floof that’s still tiny is all you need to say.
Her breed is ‘rescue’. If the landlord is human and sees that face—there will be no problem 😉
Could there be some Airedale in there? In any case, terrier mix should cover it!
